Ueda Plaza Hotel Tenjin
"The location perfect, very close to Ueda station, the breakfast is nice, the service good, they allow you to put your baggage after check out, so you can save coins for locker. 😀,"
Anzuan Nishida
"The owner is very kind. It's quite tiring to walk from the station. You'll sweat a lot even after soaking in the hot spring, so you'll need to change clothes. They provide a shuttle service, so please ask them. Since it's located in a forest-like area, ants and spiders tend to get into the room. It's a bit disappointing that you can't easily go to the hot spring town."
HOTEL ROUTE-INN Ueda - Route 18 -
"It is a business hotel. There are traces of years and the service staff is very good."

"Awesome Ryokan! Staff came to pick me up at Bessho-Onsen Station, Outdoor onsen was good, dinner was excellent. They had some "red clear miso" drink and "transparent soy sauce" which was quite a neat touch showing their creativity with food. I would recommend this ryokan to anyone coming to Bessho Onsen!"
Nakamatsuya Ryokan
"A very unique Japanese-style hot spring hotel. The entire building is covered with tatami mats. The open-air hot spring on the seventh floor is great and you can see a lot of stars."

"It's cheap and good."

"We stayed here as a family of four. Our youngest child was only one year old, but there was body soap for children in the bath, which was nice. Personally, I was very excited about the shampoo bar. They also prepared things like yo-yo fishing and puzzle solving for the children's festival, which my older child seemed to enjoy. Although it was outside of opening hours, they also made shaved ice for us. We were very satisfied with the flexible and polite service. It is a historic inn, and it did feel old in places, but it was well-cleaned and we had a comfortable stay. Thank you very much."
Kakeyu Onsen Kutsurogi No Yado Kuroiwa Ryokan
"It was very clean and the food was delicious no matter what I received. The bath wasn't big at all, but it was clean and relaxing. I will visit you again next year."
Kakeyu Onsen Shikanoya Ryokan
"- Hij is een dag. Er zijn weinig mensen. Het is de beste toestemming. De temperatuur van de openluchtzilver is warmer dan de binnenzilver, het voelt goed om te baden voor een lange tijd. De kamer was goed. Ik slaap erg goed tot de ochtend. Ik wil het nog een keer gebruiken."

"We stayed in a premium suite. It comes with hot spring baths, in-room dining, and all-inclusive benefits. The room was spacious and comfortable, with plenty of free refrigerators. The amenities were luxurious, with Bora BA cosmetics, a shower head, hair dryer, and Refa toiletries. The hot spring baths and bathtubs are spacious. The bathtub has a certain amount of water and temperature. It's supposed to be a free-flowing bath, but it doesn't overflow...I wonder how that works. The view from the room is not good. The food is a menu that is only available for this room, and some of it looks good and is prepared by the head chef himself. I think it could be a little simpler. Some of the food was temperature-controlled due to the elaborate presentation. The changing room for the large public bath was small, so there were times when we gave up using it, but it was convenient because the outdoor baths were nearby. There were plenty of free drinks in the public spaces, and the beer was also generous, with all-you-can-drink beer. Above all, the staff were very kind and nice. I think you'll be satisfied with the standard plan. I like the quality of the spring water in Bessho, and there are many good inns there."

"In October 2019, when the typhoon had a big impact on Nagano, I was planning to go from Kusatsu Onsen to Bessho Onsen, but it was canceled (I was offered a glass of wine this time). I rebooked this inn for the first time in 4 years. Reviews are mixed: black phone, old, cold, no hot water. The room is a Kyoto room, so it's small in a Kanto style, but the lintel, nagaoshi, and wall features are more elaborate than they look. I don't really like eating in my room. The food was a good amount and included matsutake mushrooms. The bar counter in the lobby has also been transformed into a reading area for the owner, and the garden is lush enough to remind you of the beauty of yesteryear. The hot water is good, but the water is sulfur and acidic, so the faucets here and there are broken, but that's just as the reviews say. There are two parking spaces in front of the inn, and the rest will probably be parked in the hot spring parking lot. I like the fact that it's a family-run business, so there's no annoying customer service, and the host and landlady's natural customer service."
Bessho Onsen Midoriya
"Perfect stay. Amazing modern onsen ryokan. Lovely privat baths ideal for couples or families. Food was also really good and communication with the lovely staff in english (with some help from google translate) easy."
Saito Hotel
"When I drove there while looking at the navigation system, I got a little confused about the location, but it turned out to be a very good hotel. Everyone who dealt with me was cheerful, kind, and nice. I was also surprised that the food was even more delicious than I expected. thank you very much."
Oedo Onsen Monogatari Shinshu Kakeyu
"The meal is a buffet style, and the variation of the meal is not bad, but the hot spring is a little inconvenient, and the indoor bath and the stall bath are a little far away."
Nanakusa No Yu
"Since the booking sites were full during the Obon period, I contacted the inn directly and they kindly accepted my reservation ^^ (I got a 5% discount for booking early). I arrived a little early, but they allowed me to check in without any trouble. The lobby and room both gave the impression of being a little cluttered, but I later realized that this was part of their hospitality. There was a pickle set and a sweets set waiting for me, which was perfect since I hadn't had lunch. My room was the Asagiri-so special room with a panoramic open-air bath. It seemed to have been recently renovated, as it was very clean. I could see Kitamuki Kannon from the balcony, and the view was great, and the sulfur-scented hot spring was very pleasant. (There is also an open-air bath in the public bath.) Meals were served in my room, the service from the maid was pleasant, and the proprietress came to greet me at dinner. They took great care to accommodate my allergies to certain foods that I had informed them of in advance, and I was impressed that an inn would go to such lengths. The meal was delicious, incorporating local and seasonal ingredients. At night, there seemed to be a festival at Kitamuki Kannon, and it was lively until late. The sound of bells could be heard in the evening and morning, and all of that, including the bells, gave me a nostalgic feeling. I felt soothed by the warm hospitality of the inn. Thank you very much!"
