The Commercial Boutique Hotel ★★★★

"Booked 2 nights in Room 7 which faces away from the main street for $250/night. The hotel is right in town with a carpark behind. Friendly checkin. Nice art deco throughout. The room is located on the 1st floor. There is no lift, & no offer of help with luggage. Our room was quite spacious with a separate alcove for the bed, which is very comfortable & a separate seating area with 2 easy chairs & tv. There's a courtesy tray for tea & coffee & the best biscuits (other than the home made ones we occasionally get) we have ever had. The fridge is quiet (only milk in it.) The ensuite is small but has a good shower in a stall where the water doesn't leak out & nice toilettries in plunger bottles. The windows which look toward the mountain & overlook the carpark aren't openable, so you need to use the air con. In any case, it is quiet & works well. Wifi is fast & can be relied upon. We ate in the restaurant both nights & thought the food very good-duck breast & beef cheeks the 1st night & we each had Salmon the 2nd night. There's a nice choice of wines & its good to see some local choices. The restaurant has a nice ambiance & the staff very professional & pleasant. It was busy on the Tuesday & Wednesday night we were there. Our room was very quiet & comfortable & we slept well. The room was serviced, & used items replaced. Always appreciated. I chose the hotel to celebrate a special occasion, & overall, I am pleased I did so. The only additional thing I'd like to see is a coffee pod machine in the room. This is due to the room rate."

"Toen ik de kamer openging, zei mijn kinderen dat de kamer smelte als het huis van Nanna. Het smelte als de kamer niet lang uit was opgelucht. Ik besloot de airconditioning om de kamer te verwarmen (het was 6°C buiten) De afstandsbediening werkte niet, ik keek de batterijen (ze leken te zwellen en te lekken), ik swap de batterijen met de tv-afstand, En de eenheid werkte en we hadden warmte in de kamer. De douche ging altijd warm, er was geen uitlaatluchtfan of verwarming in de badkamer, dus alles was nat, inclusief mijn kleren uit de stoom in de douche. De deur was gebroken, een deel van de sluiting die de deur in de plaats houdt, was ontbreekt. We moesten aan de andere kant van het complex parkeren omdat er geen park was voor onze kamer in de buurt. We kochten de ketel om koffie te krijgen voor het ontbijt, maar er was geen melk."
