"Spent a night in a lovely comfortable bed with decent breakfast in morning. Main downside was a very poor electric shower with low water pressure and erratic temperature control. Some of the other fixtures and fittings need attention as well - TV sound distorted, bathroom extractor fan doesn't work properly, bathroom mirror appeared to have a built-in light but it didn't work or wasn't connected up. This was the ground floor room at the front. Was also surprised to see in the online listing that the place has a tennis court and a billiards room, perhaps it does but I didn't see info in the room about where they were."

"We hebben het nieuwe jaar en de volgende twee dagen op het kasteel besteed. Het ziet er precies uit in de foto's niet de meest moderne plaats, maar vol charme en karakter, met een duidelijke aandacht voor de details. De personeelsleden waren uitzonderlijk vriendelijk en hulpvol. Op de dag van onze vertrek waren wij zelfs naar de treinstation gerijd en de heer Shearer ging genadig terug naar het kasteel om ons daar te brengen. Het ontbijt en het diner waren goed, en ze hebben een mooie wijn en whisky selectie. We hadden een prachtige tijd op dit prachtige kasteel in de Hogelanden!"
