Clean room, clean linen, clean towels. Nice owner and staff. You can also order food at the reception. There is a large store nearby. A great place to stay.

We verbleven een paar dagen, het lijkt erop dat dit hotel net een renovatie heeft ondergaan (alles) is nieuw en schoon Het personeel was erg behulpzaam en vriendelijk De kamer waar ik in verbleef was perfect schoon en nieuwe lakens en handdoeken werden verstrekt en het had ook een balkon;) Het stadscentrum ligt op ongeveer 35 minuten lopen en met de auto/fiets 10 minuten. Zal dit hotel zeker weer boeken als ik Kathmandu bezoek.

Ze zijn erg gastvrij en het personeel van de receptie was geweldig. Ze accepteren een internationale visakaart. Elke verdieping heeft een mooi balkon om te roddelen, koffie te eten en te roken. Met dit budget, het beste hotel. Mijn kamer was 404. Problemen: 1. De telefoon was niet dood. 2. Gordijnen zijn erg dun, dus je kunt 's ochtends niet in het zonlicht slapen. 3. De deuren en ramen zijn erg oud, daarom hoor je alles als iemand buiten de kamer praat en misschien horen zij jou ook. 4. Ze bieden alleen tissues en zeep, ze hebben geen tandenborstel, tandpasta of shampoo verstrekt. Dus als u dit hotel heeft geboekt, houd dit dan bij u. 5. Het hotel heeft geen lift, dus als u niet van de trap houdt, is dit niets voor u en kunt u met het hotel praten voordat u een kamer op de 2e verdieping boekt.

Had a terrible experience at this hotel - booked it as a first stop in Kathmandu on arrival in Nepal, place to put my luggage while trekking and a last night before flying out of the country. There is no provision for bag check - no tag given or the like. Asked if could leave / check my bag was told yes and to leave infront of front desk. Two weeks later when I returned to the hotel bag was still in the lobby infront of front desk. Things were missing of course - none of great enough value to argue, but the fact they couldn’t even be bothered to move the bag a few feet to a closet / holding space or the like is indicative of the way this place rolls. Tried to book a shuttle for early morning to airport through hotel, listed as included service. Despite confirming and reconfirming, they arranged nothing. Instead at 5:15 AM it became a game of let’s make a deal and see how much we can charge while providing no evidence there was even a driver. In the end I gave up and carted my luggage to the street to get a taxi. Nepal is a wonderful country - this hotel was a consistent bad experience. Rooms themselves are meh - didn’t try the free breakfast, on site restaurant was pretty good, atmosphere/ food. This isn’t a cheap hotel by local standards - for the price point there are much / many options in the area.

I would like to express my appreciation for the warm hospitality and the exceptional behavior of the staff. The food was wonderful, and the rooms were both neat and clean. I am especially grateful to Mr. Ranjith, the administrator, for arranging and coordinating everything so efficiently for me. Thank you very much to the entire Bayberry team.

The room made a decent first impression and did the bare minimum. But, it quickly became clear that it’s best suited for a very short stay. The bed was comfortable enough. Overall, the room is fine if you’re just passing through, but anything longer starts to feel like stretching it. Staff presence around the hotel was limited. They clearly run on a lean operation, which can go either way. The guard in front of the elevator stood out in the best possible way and added a genuinely warm, human touch, which helped balance things out. At check-in, I was given two complimentary cocktail coupons for the upstairs bar, which immediately lifted my spirits. This was a place I had enjoyed many times before and often recommended to friends and family. I had good memories of the atmosphere, the food, and the general vibe, so I went in with high hopes. In the past I had written raving 5-star reviews of their restaurant food and amazing service! Unfortunately, the experience that followed didn’t live up to those expectations. What should have been a simple, enjoyable night out unraveled into confusion and unwelcoming interactions. Small moments piled up, the mood shifted, and it became clear that the experience had gone off the rails. Rather than force it, my group and I decided to take our time and money elsewhere. Sometimes you read the room and move on. I returned to the hotel later that night and stayed over. Took a hot shower in the morning, loved the smell of their body wash, btw! Another brief interaction during checkout reinforced the same theme: rigid, abrupt, and lacking the kind of hospitality that makes guests feel welcome. All in all, it’s disappointing to see a place I once enjoyed and freely recommended lose its consistency and warmth. I’m no longer comfortable recommending it, and I’m not sure I would choose to return. As for the unused cocktail coupon, I still have it. Any takers?

Staff are very friendly and helpful. They recommend many good information about sounds healing and bowls. I ordered food and was late, food was delivered to my room. I felt like home. I wanted to stay there again, but chose new location because I wanted to walk to Buddha stupa.

I stayed for 2 nights, it didn't feel safe for me as a solo woman traveller. One the first night around 11pm there were 3-4 men shouting and laughing and knocked my door. I was scared and called the reception. The phone wire was not connected to the phone, i have to hold it tight to the phone while i was speaking. It was a terrifying experience. When in emergency even the phone wasn't working! the receptionist took 30 min to for the men to calm down. The next day morning the receptionist told me they men moved out. But i saw them in the evening in the hotel. Didn't feel safe. Again, the men, shouting and aloud. Still i couldn't sleep there, awake whole two nights i stayed there, didn't feel safe. The place was clean. Location was good.

I had a wonderful experience staying at Funky Monkey Hotel Hostel and Apartment in Thamel, Kathmandu. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and comfortable. The location is absolutely fantastic—right in the heart of Thamel, with restaurants, cafés, shops, bars, nightlife, and everything you need just a short walk away. At the same time, the property itself has a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere, which made it a great place to come back to after exploring Kathmandu. The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The bed was comfortable, the room had good Wi-Fi and air conditioning, and having a private bathroom was very convenient. Everything was arranged in a simple but practical way, making the room feel like a good place to relax after a busy day of sightseeing. What really made my stay special was the staff and hospitality. Everyone was friendly, polite, welcoming, and always ready to help whenever I needed something. They greeted me with a smile and made me feel more like a welcomed guest than just another customer. Their helpful attitude and warm Nepali hospitality made a big difference to my overall experience. I also really enjoyed the rooftop area. It is a great place to sit, relax, have a drink, meet other travelers, and enjoy the lively atmosphere of Thamel. If you are traveling alone, with friends, or as a couple, I think the rooftop is one of the nicest places to spend some time in the evening. Another thing I appreciated was the overall value for money. You get a great location, comfortable accommodation, helpful staff, Wi-Fi, air conditioning, and a welcoming atmosphere without paying luxury-hotel prices. For travelers who want to explore Kathmandu and stay somewhere convenient, comfortable, and social, this is a very good choice. I would definitely recommend Funky Monkey Hotel Hostel and Apartment to anyone visiting Kathmandu, especially backpackers, couples, solo travelers, families, and people looking for a convenient place to stay in Thamel. The combination of location, comfort, friendly staff, and good value makes this property stand out. Thank you to the entire Funky Monkey team for making my stay so enjoyable. Omdat ik de vlucht had gemist, vond ik vroeg in de ochtend een klein hotelletje. faciliteit: Hoewel het hotel klein is, zijn de voorzieningen goed voor Nepalese begrippen. Het heeft airconditioning, warm water en een deurslot dat een kaart accepteert. Het is erg geavanceerd. Maar geen föhn... gezondheid: Ik zag nog steeds het haar... omgeving: Kamercomfort Dienen: Het ontbijt is relatief eenvoudig (Figuur 6 is het ontbijtmenu) De servicegerichtheid van het personeel 's avonds is goed, maar die van het personeel overdag is matig. 's Avonds bracht mijn vriend in Kathmandu mij naar het hotel om mijn bagage op te halen en naar het vliegveld te gaan. Het hotelpersoneel was nog enthousiaster in hun service.
