Medehamstede Hotel

"This was my second visit to the Medehamstede and the guys work so hard there they deserve a second review. James and the team can’t do enough to help you. On arrival Alison was there to welcome us and I had such a warm welcome I felt like I was home from home and she looked after me last year. This year the hotel has the lovely Charlotte behind the bar and she is amazing. The food is basic but there most definitely a choice at breakfast you just have to request it and it will be accommodated. Be prepared it is only a small team and sometimes you do have to wait when there is a large party like ours. As a solo traveler I always feel safe at the hotel and the transport link to the rest of the island is a short walk away. Entertainment was Jules (she is amazing) and Glen on the Friday. I will most certainly be back next year. A Special Shout out to James’s young lad who worked so hard carrying the luggage to the rooms looking very professional and polite."

The Q Hotel

"The hotel is lovely, staff are friendly and helpful. The room we had needed to be updated really. It was very dark and the decor was dated. Bed was comfy."

Haven Hall Hotel

"It was great staying in Haven Hall. The location is very beautiful and the services couldn't be better. We enjoyed the spaces, equipment and privacy of the Geranium Suite we stayed in. Our compliments and thanks to the hotel owners and staff!"

Channel View Hotel

"Booked this hotel loving the area and having stayed here before, probably about 12 months ago. On that previous occasion we were told a coach party had just left and we and another couple were the only ones in the hotel. The rooms were clean and warm, a little dated decoration wise but no complaints. We never saw the other couple but, no issues other than it was a bit strange. On this occasion, having booked months in advance and having taken the day off work, I received an email to call a mobile number. Email was sent at 15:14 and I did not see it and call the number until around 19:00. The call was answered by a lady, not in English, it took a while to establish that I was a guest and calling at the hotels request. The number is clearly a personal mobile number not the hotel line. The lady abruptly told me that the hotel have no reception staff and I have been given a free of charge cancellation. I said that really isn’t the case, I could never be charged when the hotel are making a last minute cancellation. She said that I’m local (I live on the Isle of Wight) and she’d given me 24 hours notice so she didn’t need a lesson in management, she then hung up the call. To be very clear I was polite, just asking a question. No alternatives were offered, no apology, just an abrupt, rude call which was hung up. Terrible"

The Clifton

"Made an overnight stop on a bike trip at Clifton Hotel. Hosts were friendly and had locked bike store. Hotel and room were lovely. Location is great being near the beach and the Old Village. Breakfast was really good with selection of fresh fruit and a range of cooked food."
