Let me start of by saying that the staff at GHL Hotel were VERY helpful. The minute we walked through the door we were treated like family. The check in process was very easy and quick. We didn't have to worry about our luggage the hotel handled all of that. The room were very clean. The rooms had a small sink near the entry door which I'm not sure why, a small closet, small refrigerator which included snacks and drinks (at a cost of course). I did notice that the hotel did not furnish face towels. Only had 2 towels and a hand towel. I did ask the front desk if any face towels were available and the response was we don't supply those. We were able to pickup a few face towels at the dollar store. The pool was amazing (kiddy pool and adult pool). The loved the location of the hotel. Was not far from the airport about 10 to 15 mins. The hotel is not that close to a grocery store but its a 10min cab drive. There is a small convince store on the property but will be limited on some things. The hotel sits on the beach shore which I took a beach walk every morning. The hotel restaurant was EXCELLENT!!!. The food was outstanding and very cheap. Although we did not know that much Spanish the staff was very helpful to cater to us and using our phone translator came in handy. I would have never thought I would have visit Colombia but now that I have I can't wait until I go back. This was a truly a great vacation. Thank you GHL Hotel Relax Costa Azul for a wonderful time. It was a pleasure staying at the Tamaca beach resort for 3 nights. I would like to specially thank Milli.. a customer service representative who helped with getting covid-19 test results after checking out the previous day. Without the test results I would not have been able to board to fly back to the US. This is exceptional customer service and I thank Milli for the same. Considering that we are in the middle of a pandemic, there are restrictions such as specific beach and pool hours. The staff let's you know about these once you check in. The resort has a great ocean view and a superb pool. They have a tour origanizing office next to the entrance. All major attractions .. Tayrona, Minca and the rest are offered as tours by them.

Hotel location is not bad, breakfast is average, probably I still do not adapt to South American breakfast! However, it is much stronger than the United States! Hotel service is very good! Sound insulation is also OK!

The food was very very good in the restaurant and room service! the hotel was very well maintained, the terraces of the rooms were big enough!! The staff was super polite an helpful on anything. The gym was well equipped and it was not full. You do need to have cash for any taxi, as this is the only way to move in santa marta or to rent a car.

It was an incredible experience and we enjoyed our time at this hotel, it's location is perfect to take different activities such as going to the aquarium and playa blanca, tayrona park and other places. There is a little options for fun and parties and the nights has not quite fun. The hotel is very clean and comfortable, the elevator looks like old and unsafety but you can used the stairs.

I had an absolute amazing experience at this hotel! First off, ALL the staff is so friendly and helpful with anything that you need. Breakfast included in the morning is delicious and I was even able to enjoy it on their patio outside. The rooms are great, clean and cute with Air conditioning. The best part is the location! It is located just close enough to the beach ( less than 5 min walk) and on the side by the mountain so it is relaxing and quiet even though you are close to everything. I was able to do my work on my computer on the patio as I work remotely. They also provide you with a beach towel which is always nice. Plus the nightly price is unbeatable. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else while in Santa Marta, I would recommend to anyone travelling here. I can honestly say that this hotel made me love Santa Marta even more.
