"Rooms: Classic hostel bedrooms with all the amenities. The walls are quite thin and you can hear everything. Service: Everything was very straightforward, and the girls who worked there are all lovely and helpful. Location: The location is amazing. Two blocks down from the beach, and there are bars and restaurants all around. Definitely a great place to stay if you are looking to socialize."

"My husband and I have been traveling to Samara Costa Rica for 15+ years, usually staying during February to escape the cold northern temperatures. Samara is the perfect destination for that! Villas Verdes is located within easy walking distance to the incredible beach or the town center with nearby access to groceries stores and numerous restaurants and shops. Upon entering the grounds at Villas Verdes, you feel the outside world melt away. The beautiful well-maintained gardens and sparkling pools are inviting. The villas are pleasant, brilliantly colored, warm, and welcoming. There are various options with 1-3 bedroom villas available. All are exceptionally clean, tastefully decorated with well-appointed kitchens and comfortable beds. There is an affordable delicious breakfast offered on site. There is secure off-street parking available with a security guard monitoring the grounds and front gate at night. The owners Koriynne and Angelo are wonderful! The staff are friendly, helpful, and attentive. The front office ladies are very accommodating. They will help with making a reservations or advice on an excellent restaurant. I highly recommend staying at Villas Verdes!!!"

"We spent a week at Intercultura Spanish clsses (A+++ also) and stayed here at this chicly appointed boutique property. It was a delight -- all the comforts and so reasonably priced, plus a refreshing, flower-lined courtyard pool for after-class dips. I loved that it was just a small stretch from the main hustle and bustle of town, but still 5 minutes walking distance and two minutes by golf cart. A little "soda" aka cafe next door fueled us the whole time economically and deliciously. Loved the front desk staff at Bellavista, who were so helpful with recommendations and tours. Also and of note -- incredible views of the clear field with horses and cows across the street and the ocean just beyond that. Totally unobstructed and we walked to that more remote entrance of the beach every day!"

"Beautiful hotel in quiet area of Samara - but only 5 minute walk from the main town area and approx 10 min walk to the beach. Very comfortable good size rooms with fridge, coffee machine, TV. Lovely fresh breakfast each morning. Family run business with the personal touch - kept us some breakfast when we had very early start on Christamas Day so we could have it on our return! Really loved the tropical gardens and the personal touches - have body boards for rent at reception and provided towels and shower facility after checkout so we could go to the beach on our last day before our afternoon pickup. Highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Samara."

"Avoid This Hotel – Serious Hygiene Issues We recently stayed at this hotel near Sámara Beach and were extremely disappointed. After two nights, we discovered a red ant nest, complete with eggs, under the mattress in the bed where our 4 year old child was sleeping. This resulted in her being covered in bites on her arms and legs. Initially, we thought they were mosquito bites, but upon discovering the infestation, it became clear they were from the ants. While we understand that Costa Rica’s tropical climate encourages encounters with nature, we’d already overlooked the ants crawling across the bedroom floor, assuming it was part of the experience. However, finding an active ant nest in the bed was a step too far and completely unacceptable. We brought this to the staff’s attention and were offered another room. However, given the extent of the issue and our loss of trust in the hotel’s cleanliness, we decided to leave early. Despite escalating the matter to the reception, then the manager and even the owner, the hotel refused to refund the unused night we had prepaid for. Their handling of the situation was dismissive and unprofessional, prioritizing $115 over basic customer care and safety. If you value cleanliness, safety, and proper service, I strongly recommend avoiding this hotel. Ona separate note, the hotel in general is tired and run down. Doors hanging loose, shower head falling off, cracked walls, cracks in windows, but on the plus side, the staff are lovely and the pool is nice 🤷"
