"Er zijn echter geen ijskuipen, er was geen water tekort aan flessen, de helft van de items in het menu was niet beschikbaar. Geen lokale vervoer beschikbaar voor 4-5 kms. Nadat hij dat gezegd had, was het personeel zeer goed, vriendelijk en coöperatief. Devendra die de nachtsverplaatsing beheerde was handig. Een Bengali kok ging uit zijn weg om ons te eten te dienen. Huishoudelijk personeel was ook gemakkelijk beschikbaar en ondersteunend. Het is gewoon dat de hogere leiding hier meer aandacht moet besteden."

"19Villamira Heritage Hotel, Puducherry, in the Whitetown area, a few streets from the beach and promenade. A quaint small hotel with beautifully kept old style furniture. The staff are friendly and try to be helpful. This hotel has a small lift. Rooms had the usual kettle, tea/coffee/sugar sachets, shampoo, toilet roll etc. 2 bath towels provided without having to ask I have positive but also negative experiences to share. Our first night we were given a nice room, but with a small window that looked into the stairwell and who's door opened directly into the dining area. This was far from ideal as the thin curtain on the door showed bright light through. It was 5.45am when the consistent talking and noise outside the room started. The hotel advertises soundproofing, which is totally untrue. The noise from guests talking, tv in other rooms, and traffic had already kept me awake until 11.45pm. The breakfast was ok, toast or Indian menu, no cornflakes. We requested a room change for the second night. The new room's door opened onto a small landing and staircase with 2 doors to other rooms. This was so much better than stepping directly into a dining area. We also had a balcony overlooking the street and 2 windows. Other than dogs barking we had a quite sleep. Both days husband had a short hot shower, but when it was my turn only cold water remained. I would recommend this hotel but suggest avoid the rooms leading direct into the dining area and reception."
