"Het is een uitstekend hotel, supergoed gelegen, maar vermijd kamer nummer 162. Ik vond die kamer niet prettig; de airconditioning werkte niet goed, er was geen uitzicht vanaf het balkon en de kamer lag boven de keuken en achter een restaurant (dampen en geuren), wat erg onhandig was om 's nachts kleding op het balkon te laten drogen. Verder was alles 5 sterren *****. Het ontbijt was erg goed, maar ik denk dat het nog beter kan."

"I was a little disappointed that this is not, in fact, a hotel. I think I might have been the only person staying there, I didn't see anyone else except for about 2 seconds in the breakfast room. The only contact I had was by email, and all the instructions were only sent the morning I was traveling, so I didn't receive them until I got to Pico. The room was comfortable enough and very clean. But lots of things are dated. The internet was non-existent. The air conditioner and bathroom fan were both ancient and made a lot of noise. The breakfast was only meh, but the view from the breakfast room was lovely. The location is good, close to town and in a quiet area. I didn't spend much time at the hotel and it was too cold for a swim, but I imagine that would be great when the weather is warmer as the pool also has an amazing view. It's worth it for the price."

"Gloednieuw hotel, dus alles is fris en mooi en nieuw. Heerlijk ruime kamers met zitje buiten. Veel voorzieningen, goed ontbijt. Ook het restaurant is prima. Lekker eten met een wijntje van het eiland. Niks op aan te merken. Binnen en buitenbad met ligstoelen en op een goede locatie."

"Laten we eerlijk zijn. Geen airconditioning, wat het erg moeilijk maakt om te slapen. De kamer was vies en stonk (vochtigheid van de badkamer), met kakkerlakken. Ontbijt zou beschikbaar zijn voor 10 euro, maar de gastheer zelf geeft toe dat hij het niet graag/wil bereiden (te ingewikkeld...). De beschikbare ruimte in de gemeenschappelijke koelkast is echt klein (je kunt geen fatsoenlijk voedsel bewaren om te koken). En als laatste konden we 's ochtends vroeg niet douchen (voordat we naar de berg Pico gingen), omdat het water 's nachts werd afgesloten... We geven het slechts 1 "ster" omdat 0 niet bestaat"

Alma do Pico - Nature Residence

"Our stay was amazing! The location of Alma do Pico is great. Just outside of Madalena and super central for all activities on Pico! The staff is amazing and they offer so many nice recommendations. At the reception they have a board with all activities and the best restaurants and opening times. The restaurant at the hotel, Atmosfera, is amazing and serves homemade pasta and beautiful wines. It’s run by a family and they also cater the breakfast at the cabins. You can adjust the breakfast to your own needs but it’s already amazing as it is. Big compliments to the entire restaurant team as they made us feel so welcome!"
