"Satisfactory sleeping conditions at Anoulack khen Lao Hotel. 2 separate blocks with reception and breakfast at the main block. Because it was Pi Mai, the Lao New Year, service was minimal. I suggest avoid the Lao New year period as several eating places are closed for 3 to 5 days. We had our own transport and travel around the town was easy."

"Not a bad place, overpriced though and no restaurant so no lunch or dinner, over a kilometre walk to any shops and not an easy walk back, all uphill. No swimming pool or spa, empty and not maintained. They offer free rides into town and back and the views are great and free airport transfers ."

"There was no staff at the reception desk, so check-in took a long time. They also didn't realize I had booked in advance and almost gave me a different room. The refrigerator and hair dryer in the room were broken and unusable. Decent breakfast was provided for group guests, but not for individual guests. They brought me pho that they had bought outside, and one day they were given instant noodles because they had run out. Smoking is permitted anywhere, including in the guest rooms. If you can't stand the smell of cigarettes, I recommend not staying here."

"We stayed here for one night in February 2024. This is a large / posh bungalow converted to a hotel. There are only about 4 or 5 rooms. David (the owner) was a great host. He was there to receive us when we arrived and showed us around. The bungalow is very well maintained and is squeaky clean (which includes room/bathroom and the common area). The room was very comfortable and the place was quiet at night. The room had all the amenities. On the minus side, there aren't any restaurants close by. But David usually drives the guests to the city centre for dinner and we had a good Indian meal, thanks to his recommendation. Our bathroom was tiny. Other than that, this was a pleasant stay. David also arranges good tours in the local region. If all this isn't enough, David speaks excellent English, French, Dutch, Flemish, Spanish and Italian."

"Het hotel is prima. De omgeving is minder aantrekkelijk, maar dat is te verwachten als je naar een landelijk gebied reist. Bij aankomst word je meteen onder druk gezet om een ​​excursie te boeken. Mij werd een prijs van $100 aangeboden voor twee personen. De excursie duurde van 8 tot 4 uur. Ze brengen je wel naar alle bezienswaardigheden, wat voor ons prettig was. We hadden echter een onaangename ervaring op de t****e dag van onze excursie (die we via het hotel hadden geboekt). Het zou eigenlijk maar $80 kosten voor een halve dag inclusief transfer naar de luchthaven, maar uiteindelijk rekende hij ons $95 aan in de lokale valuta. Over het algemeen zou ik het hotel aanraden, maar het is niet nodig om er een excursie te boeken."

"This isn't really a hotel. In fact it reminded me a bit of a US motel. Rooms are external to the main part of the building. They look and feel quite dated. Water would not drain out of the bath/shower unless you got at it with a spoon! Aircon not really man enough for the job. Breakfast buffet was shut so you got what you were given (with a choice of Eggs). No bar or restaurant and no bar or restaurant within a 10 minute walk. There is a shuttle bus, but nobody to operate it. Room safe is locked before I get here and I can't be bothered to ask someone to open it for me. To top it all both nights we were here, a house 100 yards down the hill decided to have a karaoke session both evenings. The town is pretty much closed after dark so entertainment options are limited. I wouldn't come back here."
