"Recommed for couples or singles looking for quiet retreat. Stayed in one of the 'Mango' rooms..small, basic, nevertheless sufficient for a short weekend stay. Balcony with seats a bonus! looking out to the beautiful sea views so calming & the sunset from dining area, sublime. Staff are very welcoming, gracious & attentive. Really enjoyed the food. Cleanliness good. I agree more of a guesthouse than hotel...a niche for meditation & reflection. My hubby & I really enjoyed our stay. Looking forward to staying again Grand Rising....JOAO"

"Going there is a must, there is no shortage of hotels in Negril, look elsewhere. The rooms are small, good bedding, simple bathroom, low pressure. Only one window, noise if the bar is not far from your room. Ceiling fan and air conditioning. A splendid and large insect is running on the ground, I haven't caught it, where is it? Not in my luggage I hope."

"The place initially had ac amd internet, but both went out after my husband arrived. He was staying at this hotel due to the recent hurricane stopping his electricity and they said they had electricity. When I attempted to contact the supervisor about changing his room , I continuously got hung up on and the front desk rep stopped answering my calls. I would never suggest anyone to stay at this hotel, and my family and i would never stay here again."

"If you’re visiting Negril stay at this resort! The location is great! Direct access to the gorgeous seven miles beach, with loads of bars and restaurants at walking distance. It is in the middle of a lively beach, where you can find live music and entertainment, but that isn’t loud or annoying in any way. Not a party scene at all, quiet and relaxing, but that also provides easy access to a more lively evening if desired. The beach is considered one of the most beautiful in Jamaica. The cottages are very clean, comfortable and functional. The receptionist and the staff in general are some of the nicest, friendliest, most welcoming and helpful people I have ever met. I really struggled to leave, I’ll be going back as soon as possible!"

The Caves

"We just returned from an anniversary trip to the Caves, such an incredible time that our experience needed to be shared! The Caves is unique, breathtaking, unlike anywhere we have ever been but one of the most memorable trips we have ever taken. The hotel is built into the cliffs on the water, it is incredibly stunning. Jumping into the water from the cliffs and exploring the caves right on the property was unforgettable (all the catamaran tours from other resorts stop to look at the caves on property!) At most, there were seven total couples on property at the same time, so this feels almost like a private vacation, and there are plenty of corners and chairs to spend the day away from anyone else. Unlike some of the large resorts, no fighting for chairs early in the morning, which was a major plus for us. There is no beach, but you can jump from multiple places (including down long stairs right at the edge of the water) so the beach was not missed. Our room was open air (no glass on the windows), with a local AC unit over the bed, which felt more rustic than anywhere else we had ever stayed before, but fits the vibe of this place. The bed and sheets were very comfortable, and with the fans and AC going at night, we were never uncomfortable. Our window opened directly to a view of the ocean, and depending on the weather you could hear waves crashing from the bed in the morning. Highlight for us, easily the best food we had in Jamaica. Unlike some other resorts with buffets and mediocre food for the masses- there is one breakfast/lunch location, and a separate dinner restaurant. Each day, the menus are prepared featuring local Jamaican cuisine (but you can customize/order off menu), and the staff is very proud of sharing their local flavors with guests. Don't skip the private dining in the Cave on property, where a candle-lit cave on the water is the setting for a private dining experience. The staff goes above and beyond to get to know the guests, learn preferences, and make you feel at home at this beautiful place. By the end of the week, they knew our drink orders, how we liked our coffee, etc. which really put the experience here to the next level. They even let you go behind the bar and make your own drinks if no one is there! Special shout out to Randy, Omar, Stacey-Ann, Floyd and Racquel who made this place special. We’re already planning our return. Do yourself a favor and book it!"

"Wat een prachtige en vreedzame plek om te blijven! Kan niet genoeg zeggen over hoeveel we ons verblijf in Tingalaya genoten. Het personeel was sooo welkom en in de buurt. De gastvrijheid die we in Tingalaya voelden, maakte ons verblijf echt een prachtige ervaring! De eigendom en de grond zijn net zo goed onderhouden en mooi. De Ocean Side deel van het bezit is gewoon verbazingwekkend met een buiten yoga dek waar je kan Yoga doen terwijl je de zon in de gaten kijkt en de geluiden van de golven horen. Ja, het klinkt als een droom, maar het is waar. Een geweldige en mooie ervaring! Tingalaya is een prachtige eigendom met een geweldige en hulpbare personeel voor die gasten gelukkig genoeg om het te vinden. Dank u David, Eleanor, Juby, Moreen en Jenny voor het feit dat we zo geweldig zijn. We zijn echt blij jullie weer te zien."

"Had an AMAZING time at this stunning hotel. Everything was just perfect.. The location is one of the best in Negril .. Right on the beach and near to bars and restaurants. There are paddle boards, snorkeling equipment and kayaks available to use free of charge...Bonus! The restaurant serves an excellent choice of food and drinks and the staff and friendly and efficient. There is also frequent live entertainment at the hotel with excellent local bands playing. We would highly recommend this Hotel and we are definitely looking forward to going back again. Dana ,the owner of the Hotel makes everyone feel very welcome and goes out of her way to ensure her guests have the best experience. Blue skies is one of THE best hotels we ever stayed in and it ticks every box for us ."
