"We hebben voor het eerst een bezoek gebracht en hebben een heel mooie ervaring. Het personeel was aardig en maakte ons welkom vanaf het moment dat we aankomen. Het eten was vers en zeer smaakvol. De calamari was heerlijk en ik zou het zeker nog eens bestellen. De kip schnitzel was ook goed, hoewel ik er een beetje te veel knoflookboter op de top had Ik zou het liever aan de zijkant, maar dat is gewoon mijn persoonlijke smaak. Over het algemeen, we genoten echt onze bezoek en zou gelukkig terugkomen."

Barnacre

"We booked a week away as a family and the house suited us perfectly. Plenty of bedrooms- bathrooms and all on one level. The house itself is perfect with good quality furnishings and fittings and we were delighted. Until the third day!! And from then on I have to be honest and say we were , and still are, extremely disappointed. The gas fire in the small lounge was making a very strange banging noise which was getting louder. I phoned for the owner who came to take a look. She was extremely dismissive of the problem asking us what did we expect from a 35 year old boiler. When we said we were worried about it being unsafe she very rudely stormed out of the house saying “ I’ll turn it off then!” We had the rest of the holiday with no heat in one half of the property. I contacted Sykes Cottages on return and asked them to look into this and advise re compensation as we’d paid for a house with central heating and didn’t have any for half of our stay. The owner was and still is very unco- operative asking for photos to prove our point? How she thinks we can do that I don’t know. She is also claiming that we asked her to turn it off which is just not true. As we pointed out we were concerned about the danger of a faulty boiler. We are not a rude or impolite family and don’t expect to be treated in this way when we have paid quite a lot of money to stay in any property. I’m really sorry to have to write all this but have been left with no alternative. If you’re thinking of renting Barnacre just be aware of a very poor and unnecessary attitude from the owner."

The Bridges B&B

"Onze gastheer Lesley en Steve verwelkomden ons voor een 7-nachts verblijf... en er was niets te veel problemen voor hen... en overal was schoon, gezellig en smaakvol versierd. Het ontbijt was heerlijk met veel keuze en een paar extra verrassingen vanwege onze lange verblijf. We kunnen hen niet genoeg bedanken voor het maken van onze vakantie zoiets speciaals."

"I had a lovely large room with a very comfortable bed and an excellent bathroom with great toiletries. There were several extras including a small fridge with fresh milk and cold drinking water & lots of coffees and tea varieties . The breakfast was exceedingly generous and delicious , setting me up for the day . The accommodation is within easy walk to the dunes and the beach or along the river .Although there is no on site parking ,there is plenty nearby . The staff were very friendly and helpful .I will definitely choose to stay there again ."
