"Een verrassend goed hotel Modena. Op loopafstand van het historisch centrum van Modena. Het hotel is onlangs gerenoveerd. Wij hadden een ruime en moderne kamer met goede internetverbinding en airco. Mooie badkamer met inloopdouche. Moderne ruimte voor het ontbijt. Parkeren op eigen terrein hotel. Eigenaar is zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Het is niet langer een ''verlept'' hotel: het is een aanrader!"

"There was a power cut at night whilst we were planning our itinerary for the next day. Lights, electricity and Internet stopped working and therefore we went to sleep hoping it will work the next morning. To our surprise nothing was working the next morning - we asked the cleaner nearby to help and she tried playing with the switches and since it still didn’t work she suggested calling reception. We tried calling but that didn’t work either. We had to use the bathroom in the dark, and then went down to the reception with our phones for charging. The lady at the reception said she will send someone in the room to check for lights, and asked me to take the charging back to my room. I asked whether I can leave it there for charging and she said I can bring it back if it doesn’t work in the room. I told her the Internet wasn’t working either and she told me that Internet is working everywhere in the hotel. Then I told her that she can come with me to see it for herself if she doesn’t believe me - she went away somewhere so I headed back to my room and then she later came to our room. The issue with the lights was fixed however they weren’t able to resolve the WiFi issue. Therefore we went back down to charge our phones and use Internet to plan our itinerary. It was frustrating that we didn’t have the basic service of electricity and internet we paid for. The manager wasn’t particularly understanding and put the onus on us."

"I went to this hotel with my girlfriend during our vacation in Modena. The hotel is located in a decentralized area of the city, in front of the hospital, but this should not discourage you, because in a few minutes by bus or car you can quickly reach the center. The staff is always very kind and helpful, the rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable and the bathroom is basic. The breakfast is also good and can be had in the bar below. Recommended especially for short stays and passing trips."

"Het hotel heeft een uitgesproken Italiaanse stijl, met muren versierd met Italiaanse olieverfschilderijen. Hoewel het hotel er goed onderhouden uitziet, wijst de afbladderende verf op de muren erop dat het enigszins vervallen is. De kamers hebben een retro-uitstraling en de deuren zijn voorzien van draaisloten in plaats van elektronische sloten. De locatie is gunstig vanwege de nabijheid van winkelstraten en het Ferrari Museum. De prijs, inclusief ontbijt, is zeer redelijk."

"We booked a family room at Hotel Europa, but instead were given separate rooms — and even accommodated in a different hotel nearby. This was not what we expected, and we were not informed in advance. At the very least, an update or explanation should have been provided. When you book one thing and get something else, it's very frustrating. Overall, poor service and disappointing experience."

"Was not what we were expecting. The room was small, bed was not comfortable, the flooring in our room was missing planks. Our room was on the front of the hotel, so our room was very loud with the road so close and the hospital across the street. The staff were wonderful and helpful. The breakfast was basic hotel spread. No AC and no screens on windows, so we had to choose between being hot, bugs and noise."

"The hotel is in a very convenient location, with parking and a swimming pool. There is a large supermarket nearby. The breakfast is good, but there is no kettle to boil water yourself. The water temperature in the bathroom is very different. The staff is very polite."

"Very nice hotel, beautifully maintained with friendly, professional and incredibly competent staff, and good breakfast. The room we stayed in could do with proper sound insulation as we could hear everything happening in the street, and the room decor was a bit bare, it could do with a more generous sofa, a desk, a comfortable chair etc, but overall very pleasant"

"We (a family of four) stayed at Antico Borgo for one night in August 2024, while traveling between Campania and Trentino. Our stay was wonderful, thanks both to the comfort provided by the property and to the courtesy and professionalism of Davide, who welcomed us. We were very impressed by the tranquility of the property, both the beautifully maintained garden and the room. We thank Davide for his availability, courtesy, and the love he puts into his work. He was truly attentive to our every need. We even left something in the room when we checked out, and he arranged to have it shipped to our home. I would definitely recommend staying at Antico Borgo, and we ourselves plan to return for a vacation in Emilia. Antico Borgo's location is enviable, being very close to the center of Modena, but above all, close to the main extra-urban roads and the highway. The room we stayed in was spacious and comfortable. The beds were very comfortable, the bathroom spacious, and the kitchenette equipped with everything you need to prepare breakfast or a quick lunch. The cleanliness was impeccable."

"Gianna en Giuliano waren niet alleen handig en uitnodigend. Gianna gaf ons grote aanbevelingen voor lunch en diner en maakte zelfs restaurantreserveringen voor ons. Ze deelde nuttige informatie over het gebied, plaatsen om te bezoeken en specialiteiten van het gebied. Haar huis was spotloos en haar ontbijt was ongelooflijk. Ze had negen huisgemaakte taart/taart. Ze had ook huisgemaakte conserven, brood, vers fruit en eieren. We hadden een prachtig verblijf!!"

"We spent three nights here in a Superior Room, I believe it was Architecture. The room was directly off the reception area, but it was quiet. We never heard any activity in the evening or early mornings. The beautifully decorated room was open, bright, and airy. The bed was comfortable, with high quality linens. The bath was also spacious with large, fluffy towels and a large shower with lots of hot water. A small issue was lighting over the mirror and sink which could have been a bit better. The property is small, at just five rooms. It occupies most of one floor in a late 19th Century Palazzo. The rooms were meticulously restored retaining the original inlaid floors, many of the doors, the painted ceilings; and most impressive, the beautifully hand painted walls. Entry is through a courtyard, and there is an elevator. The location is ideal. It is easy to get to and from the property by car. Parking is on the street but there were always spaces available. We had a pass to display on our dash, so we did not have feed the parking meter. Walking from the hotel to the center of Modena took only a few minutes. We really appreciated the common area and the amenities it provided. In the morning it served as the breakfast room. The rest of the day it served as a lounge offering snacks and beverages. In the evening, we stopped for a small glass of liquor before going to bed. Benedetta, the owner, was a pleasure to meet. She offered suggestions, arranged a balsamic vinegar tour for us at the last minute, and in general, made us feel like guests in her home."
