This hotel was a huge let down, its old and its not looked after for years (thats how it feels). We were going to celebrate our anniversery and thought it looked great on the pictures and 4 stars is always 4 stars. Our first room had a carpet full of stains, big stains and they looked old. Bathrum looked fairly renovated, but there was a smell of sewer in there. The wallpaper was lose on several places and it looked like it was damaged by water. Our second room had similar issues, hard floor so no stains but sewer smell in the bathroom, walls dirty, a big hole was repaired with filler but not painted, a big wooden board covering one of the doors to balcony, it looked like a temporary and crappy fix. It seem to us that the maintainance left a few years ago, or they have a shoe string budget, or they are not allowed to fix things. When reception, with not a second of doubt hands us a towel to cover the shower drains and a bottle of perfume then you know this is something they do all the time. INstead of fixing the issue, give the customers perfume! It can be seen everywhere, the tennis cours was overgrown, the lift made sounds and doors squeeked, the hallways looked old and dirty and there was a general feel of neglect. Service was nice, and breakfast was good, but the rest, dont go there..

The hotel is located in the northern part of the Netherlands. There are relatively few Chinese people. The hotel is a pure business hotel. Breakfast is 6:30-11:00, but some business people go to the restaurant to talk about things at 9:00. It is busy during the day and the restaurant is great at night. When you approach through the forest and waterways this monster in a large pond intrigues. Located next to the old Waterloopkundig or hydrological research centre this building from the sixties with its concrete look, has been fully remodelled and modernized. Nice couches and surroundings created in the main entrance and the hallways. Plenty of parking space and possibility to stall your bikes and bicycles. One strange thing is that they demand immediate payment of the room (even when we had given a credit card guarantee) though you can charge bar and restaurant on the room. All rooms have a balcony overlooking the pond and they have a lot of space. They are modern and supplied with a safe and coffeemaker. Good beds and perfect shower. The lights for reading at the seats and for shaving at the wash basin are faint and don't really help. For the rest, no remarks to the rooms though the decoration on the walls is a little bit of everything. The restaurant offered a special asparagus menu due to the season. We assume they do more of these specialties. The normal dishes have a decent variety and there is the possibility of the chef's choice in meat, fish or vegetarian (recommendable). With the option of strolling alongside the old research objects in the moors and woodlands and the good cycling options, this new (opened at 31 March 2023) hotel is an excellent extra for the Fletcher brand.

Wonderfully welcoming staff. Relaxed ambience throughout the property. Elegant dining rooms. Large comfortable bedroom with good amenities in the room. Very nice evening meal (for a separate price) and an enjoyable breakfast (included in the price). Excellent value for money (in the week). No lifts though so if you have big suitcases, this could be a problem (that said, the staff helped us up with our light bags). The room we had had steps down into the room which made it difficult getting out as you had to step back down to pull the door inwards. Would definitely like to come and stay at this property again.

After a bike trip from Lelystad to Steenwijk I had a room in this hotel. Wonderful room very good bed, beautiful sanitary and a spacious breakfast enough. The next day after a bike trip in the surroundings, I could still dress in this hotel. Good and good staff.

The holiday home is ideally located in the waters of Giethoorn. The car stops at the parking lot outside the hotel and walks 200 meters past the bridge to the resort. When we arrived, it was already 7 o'clock. We contacted the owner in advance and added 25 Euros to wait for us. The owner is a straightforward old man, and people are not bad. There is one house per household, which can accommodate 4 people. There is a kitchen utensils for cooking. You can bring your own food for cooking. There are also many restaurants and bars on the street outside the hotel. It is very convenient. The scenery in the resort is invincible. It is recommended to stay for 2 days, and there are many places to play. One day is really not fun. Be sure to clean the kitchen utensils before you check out. Finally, I reminded Chinese tourists who went to Yangjiao Village to play. In the scenic area, someone pretending to be a policeman to drive a car. The people in the back seat pulled down the window and took out the police card to see your passport. Don’t ignore them, myself. I ignored them and they left, but I saw a pair of Chinese young people grabbing bags from them. They stared at the Chinese and they must pay attention!
