This was a great little find! We stayed at this hotel on a Wowcher deal and couldn’t be more impressed. It’s everything you need for a couple of nights away. Room was spotless and bed were comfy! The supermarket across the road was perfect for snacks! There are plenty of nice restaurants in the local area to walk too if you don’t want to go into Santander. The sports bar across the road is perfect for an afternoon beer! Easy to get into Santander … we hired a car but also got Taxis in the evening.

Brand new structure (opened at the end of July 2022) in a suburban area near the busy Santander ring roads. Spacious, colorful and very pleasant common areas, friendly and welcoming staff even if the very young age betrays on occasion the lack of experience. Room not very spacious and rather basic with the idea, as scenic as it is uncomfortable, of the shower in the center of the room and only the toilet in a very small separate space. Going to the bathroom you can experience the same experience as astronauts in a Soyuz. Good soundproofing but occasionally a few sirens are heard. The rest, however, was perfect and the beds were also comfortable. It was difficult to find it despite google: the entrance is in a secondary street where, however, there is no sign; it would be enough to add an indication to signal the entrance. We did three laps (of the ring roads and holy navigator!) Before figuring out where the entrance was. There is also a bus stop just a stone's throw away. Free private parking around and under the structure but I don't know if there is enough space for all guests. Very problematic air conditioning: there are thermostats in the room but they do not work or are not enabled, so the air is managed room x room by a panel at the reception to which we had to ask three times to turn it on, then lower it and finally turn it off x night because noisy and annoying given the small size of the room. Very negative We didn't try the breakfast but all in all it seemed like a good point of reference for a stop & go near the airport where actually there are not many alternatives in Santander while I would not recommend it to anyone visiting the city. Surely the young management has some points for improvement but the structure is of a good standard

Very friendly staff. Smooth check in. Room is very modern and clean. Ample lighting and plenty of electric outlets. Conveniently placed in town center. Nice restaurant by reception. Reception closes at midnight, but guest have access to come and leave 24hrs a day. Make sure to check in before reception closes.

Lovely hotel, very well located in Santander with everything in walking distance. Immaculately clean, very nice rooms especially the superior doubles and the staff at reception were very helpful. There is a really nice breakfast room and a small bar, with a lovely outside area of seating. Unfortunately the aircon was off for the whole hotel (broken or switched off we didn't quite get to the bottom off) for the full stay and it was unseasonably very hot especially for the upper floors that caught the sun. To be fair we were compensated with a price reduction. Take care if you catch a taxi from the airport (c.E20) as we were all initially delivered to the wrong location as there are other hotels with similar names. Make sure you give the taxi driver a clear note of the name & full address. Overall a nice stay and we would go there again.

Having stayed six times at this hotel dating back to 2015 we decided to stay again as we wished to be near Sardinero. We have not experienced any of the issues identified by previous reviewers in any of these visits, in fact quite the opposite, the staff were welcoming and the rooms were in decent shape and always large. The price was high but for the luxury of a senior suite I was prepared to pay over the odds. On arrival we were told that no senior suites were available and we had been upgraded to the Imperial Suite. Sounds good, but here the good news ended Issue 1 the whirlpool bath didn’t work. Reported to reception and was quickly attended by the maintenance man who after breaking the tile to access the motor reset fixed the problem! Issue solved - nope. It lasted 20 minutes and then tripped all the electric. On reporting to reception the switch was reset but no whirlpool bath. Ok, we’re not here for the bath and having been offered a move the next day at 12 noon we decided to stick with the room as otherwise it appeared ok. Issue 2, the air conditioner sounded like a jet engine. It wasn’t so warm anyway so we tolerated this. Issue 3, at around 5 am it became clear there was multiple pigeons roosting in the roof space above the bed therefore couldn’t sleep until they stopped making noise. Should have moved but we are quite tolerant. Issue 4, around noon time the noise from the AC was so load we had to trip the electric breaker to stop it. Again we should have moved. Issue 5, on night 2 we were again awake for a significant period because of the lift continually moving even in the middle of the night. Issue 6, on night 3 again the lift was not moving up and down almost constantly. This seems to be the overnight cleaner moving items to the storeroom, and guess where this is, next to our room 601. I politely asked receptionist to ask the cleaner to stop and she said he was going home now so it would be ok. She couldn’t move us as there were no other rooms available. On approaching the hotel director the next morning she was aware of all the issues even knowing that the lift was noisy and kept people from sleeping. I was offered a free breakfast which I refused purely because there is no soap in the toilets and this is being used by waiters and chefs to prepare and serve food. After much argument I was told they would refund me the last night stay, still not received it though. All bored by now no doubt. This hotel had deteriorated badly in the 7 years we have visited. There are so many easy fixes to make it better but nobody seems to care. Lights don’t work - replace bulbs AC noisy - stop it vibrating Bath doesn’t work - either replace the motor or borrow from another room given the Imperial suite is the best room in the house Lift - get an engineer Noise - stop the cleaner working all night making noise No soap - buy soap The list is endless, we won’t be back and I wouldn’t recommend anyone else does either. Having spent five weeks travelling throughout Spain, and having experienced first class welcome and service at every establishment from the smallest roadside cafe, to five star hotels and restaurants, we were extremely disappointed by the ”welcome” (or lack of!!) that we received when we arrived at the Gran Hotel. No eye contact from the male receptionist, a brusque, mumbled ”hello”, and even though my command of Spanish is far better than his of English, he insisted on trying to communicate in English. We were issued with key cards, absolutely no information given to us about facilities at hotel, eyebrow raising and pen tapping when I asked my husband which dining slots he'd prefer as they had to be pre-booked, and we even had to ask where the lift was - a pointed finger directed somewhere behind us and a sharply uttered ”there” were all we got. Room was adequate - nothing special and no extras. Cheap toiletries and an expensive minibar. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent and the staff were fabulous. It was a really excellent experience and the food was wonderful - very, very highly recommended. Another redeeming factor was breakfast the following morning which I must admit was first-class, apart from the female member of staff who was very hostile and unhelpful and barked at me to get out of the way so she could adjust the coffee machine which had developed a fault. In mitigation, she was run ragged as she seemed to be doing everything on her own, but was joined half way through by a very friendly and helpful male colleague which was a blessing. If only they could train their staff that they'll never get the opportunity again to make the best first impression, I'd have given this establishment 5 stars and we'd love to return, BUT, we really don't want to risk being greeted as a nuisance rather than a welcome and valued guest.

Ticks all of the boxes. Location, secure underground car park on site, reasonable rate, very friendly staff, excellent clean and comfortable rooms. We didn’t look at so many other options when looking for an overnight stay (we were on our last night of 17 in our camper van). Silken Coliseum jumped out, looked like it was what we needed… and it was! We had lunch in the restaurant as it was a little too hot to go for a wander. It was excellent, as was the hostess. Bit of a language barrier as our Spanish is limited. But the food was as good as we had eaten all trip.

Our experience at Centersuite Santander was a pleasure from start to finish. We do not speak Spanish (we are trying to learn), and Yolanda who checked us in speaks no English. Using Google Translate, Yolanda gave us a very comprehensive guide to the hotel and the features in our room. We stayed in the Reina Victoria, one of only five rooms in the hotel. The hotel is on the first floor of a building in the main street through the town, and the Victoria room is at the back of the building. Despite the location, the room was very quiet. The bed (two twins pushed together) was very comfortable and the room was well equipped with a safe, fridge, microwave, kettle and coffee machine. The widescreen tv comes equipped with Netflix included. The bathroom is spacious with a rainfall shower in a large wet room section of the room. The only negative is the toiletries. One dispenser that serves as soap, body wash, shampoo and conditioner. It feels like glue on your hair. Bring your own hair products. The hotel is a fifteen minute walk from the bus station, and has lots of bars and restaurants nearby. There are also several mini-markets and lots of cafes. We would definitely stay here again. Checkout is a respectable 12pm. I don’t think you could leave your bags here until your flight (not an issue with our 2pm flight), as the desk is unmanned through most of the day and it’s not possible to enter the building without a key, however there are lots of lockers at the bus station.
