"Sammy was een geweldige gastheer, zeer vriendelijk en welkom! Ik was net bang in het midden van Looe, wat een mooie plek! De kamer was prachtig en schoon en alles wat je nodig had was daar. Ik had de eenpersoonskamer en het was mooi! Je had je eigen badkamer, die buiten was op de landing, die helemaal goed was en weer mooi en schoon en de douche was machtig. Het ontbijt was overvloedig en Sammy maakte altijd zeker dat je oké was en niets was te veel problemen voor hem. Het enige wat ik zou voorstellen is om een paar fans te leveren, omdat de kamer heel warm was, omdat de zon in de kamer kwam, omdat het zuidelijke gezicht was en ook een hittegolf toen ik kwam, zodat ik niets kon doen. Maar het zou goed zijn om een paar te krijgen en de gasten te geven als nodig :) Ik zal zeker terugkomen en in de toekomst bij Sammy's zijn zo'n mooie welkom plek en je voelt echt als thuis. Ik heb mijn familie erover verteld en ze kunnen ook in de toekomst hier blijven."

"So i had a disapointing day at the spa due to medical issues i never realised would bar me from having a treatment. I was gutted as id waited near 2 years for a massage but ultimatly it was my own fault and guidance had been sent in a confirmation e-mail that i just glanced over. The response from the managment/threapist could not have been any better however especally as this was my own stupidity not any liabilty on their part. They offered me treatments i could have, a complimentary meal at the bar or my money refunded and bearing in mind this was my own fault their response was above and beyond what i would expect. I will be back in 4 more years for my treatment and will continue to use the facilities in the meantime as it has all you need for a relaxing time poolside. 5 stars also to Kat the receptionist. If there is a kinder, more politie receptionist this side of the Tamar i have yet to meet them. Just what you want to see when first being greeted in a hotel"

"This is more of a bed and breakfast rather than a hotel. Room was nice but cramped and no wardrobe. The balcony was nice but open plan with the others and as a single person I felt bullied by the couple next door who were out there all day. So I couldn't enjoy it. The TV is impossible to use. The breakfast wasl imited very cheap products and not worth £10. But its cosy and you do feel at home there so I guess I would stay again"

"The Gate is a lovely small and truly boutique hotel. We had our last visit to Charlie Walter’s restaurant at The Gate, since he will be moving on to another venture. We enjoyed our pig cheek, fish cakes, duck and halibut followed by panacotta with wines. Service was effective, merry and personal. See you in the future in your new venue."
