"It was my wine tour’s first stop and I’ve decided to check in one day earlier to minimize the hectic change of hotel (was hooping between hotels in the next 4 days 😅). Issue it’s not close to train station and you need to walk 20 mins to SNFC for Bordeaux. That said, it was a zen and relaxing area and if you do not need move around a lot and it’s nice spending a few days relaxing. What was the best is the staff (Natasha and Emilie, sorry didn’t ask the spelling 😅), they were super friendly and helpful - sparing one pair of slippers for me coz my room’s grading didn’t include slippers 😅), which I didn’t prepare any slippers. The ladies did me a great favour and I cannot survive without slippers in hotel 🤣 Lastly Natasha has shown me a detailed map which I can walk to Libourne SNFC to reach my tour buddies, which has eased my life in Libourne too 😍"

"Maison Mulato is an exquisite guesthouse offering the perfect blend of elegance and relaxation. The centuries old mansion has been lovingly restored and renovated in an eclectic style marrying classical, modern and international influences. The proprietors, Corrine and Laurent, are gracious and friendly and provided useful tips before and during our stay so we got the most out of our days in the region and avoided pitfalls (like traffic jams). Maison Mulato was the calm oasis to which we could return after days of sightseeing and wine tasting."

Château Bonalgue - Pomerol ★★★

"Chateau Bonalgue is located just outside the town of Libourne in the Pomerol wine region. It is an operating winery, offering three nicely sized rooms for guests. There was a large parking area in front of the winery. Eveli did her best to ensure our comfort. We arrived late and used a key box to enter the Chateau (it’s very dark in this area). The next morning, we had to leave early for a guided wine tour and the Chateau left some food out for our breakfast. It was harvest season and we saw the workers head to the vineyard to pick Merlot grapes. Our room was large, clean, and comfortable. This is a restored mansion, so the rooms blend the old with the new. The bath area is modern. What makes the Chateau unique is that we had free rein of the large living room and kitchen. We enjoyed going down early to use the expresso machine. There is also a large area to sit outside. The Chateau offers a free tour of the vines and cellar, as well as a tasting of the wines produced by the family. Adrien was our guide, and the tour and tasting were excellent! With our guided wine tour and this tasting, we felt that we completed a mini class in Bordeaux wines."

"We hebben een nacht gehad in het hotel. Het is op een mooie plek aan de waterkant en we hadden geluk dat we een kamer met een klein balkon over de rivier hebben. Het personeel op de receptie was vriendelijk, aardig en handig. Als je met de auto aankomt, moet je eerst buiten het hotel trekken of als het druk is, zijn er nog ruimtes die voor ons werkten."
