Absolutely stunning soo clean Ian is a wonderful guy and cooks an amazing breakfast but it's huge do if u aren't a big eater in the morning let him know we were stranded with the ferry hone and he put us up no problem at all just a tip to finding it ask where the HOT tanning station is and it's next door will definitely not go anywhere else"

"From the moment we arrived at Broom Lodge, we knew we were in for a treat. The real heart of this guest house is the owner, Shona. She is incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel like a regular guest from the first "hello." It is clear she works tirelessly to ensure every guest is well looked after; nothing is too much trouble for her. The lodge itself is maintained to an impeccable standard of cleanliness—everything was absolutely spotless. The location is perfect for exploring Largs, but the real showstopper is the wonderful view across the water to the Isle of Cumbrae. Waking up to that sight was the highlight of our trip. If you are looking for a warm, comfortable, and beautifully situated place to stay in Ayrshire, look no further. We can’t wait to return!"

"We’ve visited Largs for years and always say how good it would be to stay. The problem is there’s not a lot of accommodation in the town. We booked this Peacock guest house for an overnight stay. Pre check-in was well explained and your room key is in a lock box at the front door. All the instructions were clear and all work well. Personally we prefer the low key approach to guest houses. The room we had is on the first floor and was very well furnished, decorated and clean. All the other rooms are on the ground level. I would say that if you have any ailments precluding you from climbing stairs you might be better asking for a ground level room. The stairs are quite steep. Loads of nice touches in the room and we had a good nights sleep. Breakfast is great. All the normal continental choice and also a breakfast that desperate dan would have trouble with. I managed it just but you can ask for as little or as much as you want. Everything was good quality and piping hot. The guest house is positioned nicely a short walk ( 5 minutes) from the train station and the town. All in all a great wee place and good value. We will return and would not hesitate to recommend it to others."

"Ik heb onlangs een voorschot geboekt en betaald voor een nacht verblijf in dit hotel. Ik reisde met mijn zoon, die een lokale sportwedstrijd inging. Op de dag van reis had BA aanzienlijke systeemproblemen en alle vluchten werden vertraagd. Ik heb twee keer contact opgenomen met de eigenaar om haar op de hoogte te houden en na eindelijk een vluchttijd van BA te hebben gekregen, verklaard dat we ongeveer twee uur zouden vertraagd worden, aankomend bij ongeveer 9/9.30pm. Ik heb haar gevraagd of zij flexibel zou kunnen zijn, omdat dit ons niet zou kunnen controleren. Ik heb dus de druk gehad om te proberen alternatieve accommodatie voor vorige minuut te reserveren tegen aanzienlijke extra kosten, maar het ergste is dat de eigenaar de accommodatie heeft afgeschaft, maar zij heeft ons volledig betaald en geen enkele vorm van terugbetaling geweigerd. Het kalme gebrek aan respect voor ons, haar betalende gasten, neemt mijn adem weg. Hoe moeilijk zou het gewoon zijn geweest om de voordeur op 9.30pm in plaats van 7 uur te openen en ons de sleutel te geven aan onze kamer? Erger nog, dan is het concurrerend vervelend om de accommodatiekosten volledig te houden, wanneer absoluut geen dienst werd verleend, en wij werden de nacht na een lange reis in aanzienlijke problemen en stress geplaatst, en om geen goede reden. Ik hoef niet meer te zeggen. Een echt vreselijke ervaring."
