"I stayed in a room with an open-air bath. Being able to bathe in the hot spring whenever I want is the best thing. The price of the accommodation was very good value. There were many different kinds of sashimi for breakfast and dinner, and the tempura was warm and there was also grilled sweetfish with salt. The hot food was hot and the cold food was cold. The food and the room were excellent."

Veel Japanse beroemde kunstenaars hebben vaak bezoek gebracht en de grote kunstcollectie is gelegen in de ryokan. Een houten brug leidt tot de gastenkamers die hetzij de rivier, hetzij de binnenplaats met zijn grote dak vol carpen. Arai Ryokan’s traditionele Japanse keuken kaki serveerde lokale vers zeevruchten en groenten van elk seizoen."

"It has some features, but the soundproofing and lightproofing are average. You can hear the sound of rain, and the second-floor bedroom is a little bright at night. I booked two rooms with my family. Unfortunately, there was no hot spring outside the villa, and there was no place to drain the water. Because my family was tired from the flight and there was a communication barrier, we didn't take a bath. Overall, I was a little disappointed."

"we had such a quality time at Kokuya, lovely ryokan with a long history but it is very clean and comfortable. Our room is by the river, the sound of stream is so soothing. This is a nice quiet area with good privacy. We climbed to Fujisan himi hill and saw the Mt. Fuji from distance, it was worth it. All meals are good, great service. Wish we had stayed more days."

"We had the most wonderful time at Ochiairo! I came here for a birthday trip with my husband and best friend and we stayed in the spacious Aofuji room overlooking the river. The spatial arrangement offered more than enough space and privacy for 3 people and probably 2 couples or a family and kids. The white noise lulled us to sleep every night and it was simply magical. The international staff was so helpful to us. While we don’t speak Japanese, they did their best to understand and attend to us and it all worked out. They went above and beyond making my birthday feel very special. It was the small details that really mattered - ensuring that we had bikes and activities arranged the night before, coming to our room to teach me how to wear my yukata when I asked them to help, and even cleaning out and lovingly packaging some souvenir bento containers we arrived with when they saw them in our mini fridge! Everything about this place is just so beautiful. A few notes: - THE BATHS! When I tell you that I screamed when I saw the cave and private onsen in particular - just trust that they cannot be missed. - We are all tattooed - one of us significantly so. They have small tattoo covers but ask that you do cover them in the main bath areas (I only know this because I asked and they were incredibly polite about the advice) - We brought tattoo cover but in case you don’t want to bother, please take advantage of the absolutely stunning outdoor private baths - The food is great and eat dinner in sitting rooms upstairs (not served in your room) - You get unlimited drinks (alcoholic and otherwise) and snacks which was another pleasant surprise because they are so tasty! - The koi fish in the front swim up to you and follow you around with such enthusiasm. It’s as if they’re little pond puppies. The staff allowed us to feed them so if interested, please ask. - Don’t miss the swing next to the suspension bridge! - While I loved our room - please note that there is an abandoned hotel directly across the river from it. Kind of ruined the “I am communing with nature” vibes but it was fine in the long run. I could go on, but just trust that this place is just exceptional!"

Verbazingwekkende en rustige eigendom – De gronden zijn onbeleefd en rustig, met vier openbare en drie boekbare privé-warmtebronnen, plus een zeldzame buitenkoelbad. Onze kamer bevatte een privé-buisje aan de rivier, perfect voor diepe ontspanning. Echte en generuze maaltijden – De half-board bevat prachtige traditionele Japanse ontbijt en diner, mooi bereid met een verscheidenheid aan opties. Drink is redelijk geprijsd en hoewel sommige gerechten een westerse palat kunnen uitdagen, is de culinaire ervaring rijk en er zijn veel keuzemogelijkheden."

"Worst, a waste of money. The landlady is arrogant and smelly. The receptionist has a bad attitude. The man directing you to the parking lot has a bad attitude. All the staff have bad attitudes too. If you ask a question they'll say something like "you're being noisy". It's so bad that you'd be better off sleeping outdoors than staying in a place like this. The reviews on other travel sites are bad, so I've deleted all of them. The reviews are all good, so the rating is pretty high. If you look at the reviews that can't be deleted, they are very low. The photos on the website are practically fraudulent. Not a single place is as beautiful as the photos on the website. I wrote a review on another travel site, but it was deleted, so I'm writing it here."

"Our stay at Toi Fujiya Hotel felt like being treated to a 5-star experience. The service was absolutely exceptional - every staff member was incredibly warm, attentive, and genuinely eager to help with anything we needed. The room was spacious and beautifully comfortable, with plush bedding and a relaxing atmosphere. The highlight was definitely the private onsen in the room - such a luxurious treat and perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. And the food… wow! So much variety and every dish was delicious - a true feast that made every meal memorable. Overall, Toi Fujiya Hotel went above and beyond in every way. I’d come back in a heartbeat."

"De verblijf bij Yagyu no Sho was zeer magisch. De kamer waar we in verbleven was op de tweede verdieping met zijn eigen eigen badkamer. Het was een zeer grote kamer met veel kleine kamers binnen. De kamer was zeer schoon en voelde zich luxe. Het servicepersoneel was prachtig. Een speciale schreeuw naar Taeko. Ze maakte ons verblijf extra speciaal met haar prachtige demonen. De maaltijden waren geweldig voor het diner en het ontbijt. Ze waren zo overvloedig en mooi gemaakt. Ze bieden een openbare badkamer binnen de faciliteit en ze waren schoon en goed onderhouden."

"All the staff at the hotel were really friendly, theres a public onsen (indoor and rotenba) on lvl 2, and a lvl 6 rooftop footbath. Both days breakfast were delicious. Definitely will revisit the place when i come back to nishiizu. Bus from shuzenji stops right infront of the hotel, traveling back to main town is convienient too."
