Hotels bij Mirror lake, Ipoh

For the price, I think it is a reasonable option.  However objectively: 1. The air-cons don't work well - one of them was leaking.  The staff was helpful in sending contractor to fix while we were out but due to miscommunication (because we have connecting rooms) the ”fix” was made to the air-con that wasn't leaking as badly as the one we complained about.  To be fair they offered to swap rooms but we are a family of 5 and it was a hassle to repack and move so we declined.  2. The hot water was very good despite some reviews.  However the shower head in one of the rooms were such that they don't stay put so occasional splashes happened.  3. One of the rooms wasn't cleaned (we have connecting room) - the ”make my room” card wasn't available in one of the room so we hung on just 1 of the room and left the connecting door open, thinking that the cleaners would clean both.  They only cleaned 1.  I guess we could have outright told reception instead of assuming that the cleaners will clean both rooms since we left the connecting door open.  4. I paid for extra bed - but the bedsheet was dusty - they changed it (or at least vacuumed it) after the first night.  5. The beds were quite comfortable, they offered free bottled water and coffee sachets, tv worked, fridges worked, rooms were decent sized, wifi was ok - ample street parking, the lights were ok but one of the rooms had stark white lights instead of the warmer ones. Location was good, just off the highway and across the eateries in Bercham.  6. The staff were helpful and friendly.  Despite the complaints they texted me and constantly called to check if we needed towels (because one of the room weren't cleaned) and they asked twice if we wanted to change rooms (we didn't because of reason stated above).  7. Suggestion - build a small ramp to go up to the hotel from the road if possible.  It will be helpful for luggage and older folks / wheelchairs etc.  All in all, it was a decent stay.  Price was competitive but cleanliness could be better - and air-con/shower heads can be better maintained. 

First time try out. Lobby is nice and cosy except personally I don’t like the room. Soundproofing of the door is terrible and the theme colour of the room I don’t really like it. It doesn’t give out a very good vibes. Gym room located not a good location and it close super early around 8pm??? I didn’t took picture of the room cos I just want to faster get over for 1 night and check out. I won’t be back. P/s I read from review hair dryer is Dyson brand. It is not. Is just normal China brand. Quality is okay as most things are made in China.

Ik vind de locatie, vlakbij Ipoh Parade, prettig, maar helaas is er geen koffiehuis of restaurant in de buurt van het hotel. Je moet naar een ander gebouw lopen voor Chinees eten. Als je voor je plezier komt, is dat prima, maar als je voor je werk komt, kun je beter in het hotel ontbijten. Het hotelontbijt bestaat uit nasi lemak en noedels, elke dag hetzelfde. De noedels worden soms vervangen door Maggi-noedels. Er is ook dagelijks brood en muesli. De noedels zijn erg lekker. Als ze een restaurant voor het publiek zouden openen, zou dat zeker een voordeel voor het hotel zijn. Een nadeel van het hotel is dat er maar weinig stopcontacten op de kamers zijn. Je moet je eigen verlengsnoer meenemen. Dan is er nog de airconditioning; zelfs met 17 graden kun je 's nachts nog zweten. De airconditioning is eigenlijk meer een accessoire, je moet de ventilator aanzetten om te kunnen slapen. Het hotel rekent voor een kamer met airconditioning, maar je krijgt een kamer met ventilator. Je voelt de airconditioning alleen als je op de bank zit. In bed voel je de koude lucht niet. Op een superhete dag in Maleisië komt je kamer aan als een oven, tenzij je de airconditioning aanzet. De schoonmaakdienst maakt de kamer alleen schoon als je erom vraagt. Het hotel zou de gast bij het inchecken moeten informeren of een briefje in de kamer moeten ophangen. Er is geen telefoon in de kamer om de receptie te bellen voor hulp. Je moet je mobiele telefoon gebruiken om naar het vaste nummer te bellen voor hulp of naar de lobby gaan om iets te vragen.

De locatie van het hotel is het grootste pluspunt, op iets meer dan 10 minuten lopen van het treinstation en alle belangrijke bezienswaardigheden zoals Concubine Lane in Ipoh. Het uitzicht vanuit het restaurant van het hotel is ook mooi, maar de hygiëne is een probleem. Er lagen kakkerlakken 🪳 in de kamer, heel duidelijk al twee dagen in de badkamer. Ik vraag me af hoe de kamerschoonmaak wordt uitgevoerd.

The hotel’s location is truly unmatched! Step right outside and you’ll find yourself just nearby Ipoh Town. About 6 min walking to old town Ipoh. The room was clean, comfortable, and ideal for a restful stay. The staff provided thoughtful and professional service throughout my stay. Every request was handled friendly, promptly and perfectly. I booked my stay through trip.com and managed to get a great deal — excellent value for money.

I researched a lot of hotels in Ipoh. Most hotels are spread out around the Ipoh “downtown”. If you’re arriving on a bus from KL, the bus terminal Amanjaya is 9km away. 20 mins on the local bus will take you to Terminal Kidd and it’s a 15 mins walk to M Boutique. I wouldn’t suggest this option if you have a lot of suitcases as the walk is on the main roads with cars and truck zipping past. Location is surrounded by industrial and car dealerships, but once arrived you’re surprised! They live up to their name - Boutique! They have been in that location for 13 years. Staff are friendly and helpful! Room (single room with no windows) was clean and comfortable and provided the amenities after a long day on the bus. And the hotel - SMELLED nice. Like a high end hotel. It was a nice treat if you’re a solo traveler looking for comfort on a budget. I tried to extend an extra night, however Trip were only showing double and twin rooms - out of my budget for a solo traveler. Asking at reception if the single room was available, they checked and I paid directly to hotel for a 2nd night. Your loss Trip! Hotel amenities were great. Hot shower, WiFi and air conditioning working. It’s a 10-15 min walk to the old city. When I arrived around 4 PM, a lot of things are already closed and quiet. Walking around in the dark back to the hotel was a little uneasy, but you can easily just arrange a car to GRAB. Highly recommended!

A perfect stay at an affordable price. The unit was clean, well-designed, and fully equipped, and the apartment facilities were excellent—spacious pool, clean surroundings, a gym, and a ping-pong area with a beautiful view of Perak city. The location was ideal, close to great food, shopping centres, and attractions in Ipoh. I truly enjoyed my stay and would definitely return on my next visit to Ipoh.

The location very good. You can walk to many famous restaurants in Ipoh old town. All not more than ten minute, very convenient. House is very big and bed is comfortable. But the smell from the sewer is very strong and extremely unpleasant. It helped when you close the toilet’s door. Not much soundproof,you can hear other guests walking and chatting at the corridor. It can be quite noisy in the morning and night when people passing by. The design of the car park is a nightmare. It’s octagon shaped - really challenging when you drive the car up to level 7 in one go. The management team quite approachable. They will collect RM300 for damage deposit through credit card. And will return in 1-2 days after your check out. ( I haven’t checked if I received the return).

The hotel location is excellent, very convenient for business travellers. The room was clean and well-maintained, and the amenities provided were good. Service was average, could be improved with faster response from staff. Overall, a comfortable stay and good value.

Very unpleasant experience. I would never book this hotel again. Even though we stayed for only one night, too many things went wrong. When we arrived, the receptionist couldn’t find our booking. After that, we were given a hotel access card that was very old and broken with tape patched. When we went to the room, the door was already slightly open. Inside the room, the DB box cover was open and hanging upward, which felt unsafe. There were no refills for tissue paper, shampoo, or shower gel, and there was no hair dryer at all. the pillow cotton is coming out, all furniture are old and not well maintained. To make things worse, at around 2:20 a.m., all the electricity suddenly went off — all switches stopped working and there was no power. Overall, a very bad experience and definitely not worth it.
