Tophotels met fitnessruimte in Edinburgh

Ik heb dit hotel geboekt op basis van goede recensies en het stelde niet teleur! We liepen met drie enorme koffers van Waverly Airport naar het hotel. Het is niet ver, maar wel heuvelachtig, dus kies een pad zonder trappen. In- en uitchecken verloopt ZEER efficiënt; je hoeft alleen maar je naam te noemen en ze begeleiden je direct naar je appartement. Ik las eerdere recensies waarin stond dat de receptioniste niet vriendelijk was, maar eerlijk gezegd denk ik dat ze gewoon efficiënt te werk gaan en dat was precies wat ik nodig had na een reis van 20 uur. Ik boekte een open appartement met één slaapkamer voor ons twee volwassenen en twee kinderen. De kamer bevindt zich op de begane grond en de ingang vanaf de buitengang komt direct uit op de woonkamer. Dit betekent dat mensen die buiten je kamer lopen je kunnen zien, maar er zijn gordijnen en jaloezieën om dat te blokkeren. De slaapkamer heeft geen deuren, alleen een ingang vanuit de gang. Het appartement voelde erg huiselijk en comfortabel aan. We hebben bijna al onze maaltijden zelf gekookt, want het was volledig uitgerust. Er is een eettafel waar comfortabel vier mensen aan kunnen zitten en een efficiënte indeling. De badkamer is perfect van formaat met voldoende warm water. De boiler werkt uitstekend. De locatie is zeer dicht bij de beroemde Victoria Street en vlakbij de bekende trappen die in de film ”One Day” zijn gefilmd. Ik heb gebruikgemaakt van de wasservice en die is goed. Er is een Sainsbury's supermarkt op slechts 4 minuten loopafstand. Over het algemeen ben ik tevreden en kan ik het van harte aanbevelen.

We bleven een nachtje om een ​​vroege vlucht te halen. We kregen de avond ervoor de kans om te eten en te drinken. Het eten was lekker, ik had twee burgers, maar het smaakte niet bevroren zoals in sommige andere hotels. Ik vroeg of er mayonaise bij mijn maaltijd kon, en die was er bij de sausautomaat. Toen mijn maaltijd eenmaal kwam, bleek dat ze geen mayonaise hadden, dus hebben ze me veganistische mayonaise gegeven, die overigens prima smaakte. Ik bestelde een margarita om te drinken en na 3-4 minuten kreeg ik te horen dat ze een van de ingrediënten niet hadden, dus moest ik zelf een oplossing bedenken. Omdat ik in een bar werk, was het makkelijk, maar ik dacht dat het personeel er wel aan gedacht zou hebben. De barmannen en obers waren superaardig. De kamer was schoon en het bed was supercomfortabel. Bijna 10 minuten lopen naar de luchthaven, wat geweldig is.

De douche lekte, we moesten de handdoek voor de douchedeur neerleggen… De kamer voelt aan als ziekenhuiskamers, maar over het algemeen hadden we een goed verblijf in het hotel. Het is 10-15 minuten lopen naar het stadscentrum. Er is ook een fitnessruimte op de kelderverdieping

An extremely comfortable and pleasant room to stay. What I liked most: a big bed, carpeting, long couch, many sockets, tea set, many towels and hygiene supplies, thermostat, big windows. However, there was one thing I didn't really get - the shower unit is not supposed to be closed completely. It's like half open and that is why some water can splash to the bathroom floor. The location is pretty good, it is not in the very centre but you can easily walk there in about 15 minutes. The breakfast was excellent, it had traditional notes but still homelike, very delicious, and the selection was vast. And after all, the price was acceptable, so I can strongly recommend the hotel:)

Goed hotel in alle opzichten. Goede locatie, vooral voor een dagje dierentuin of om Schotland rugby te zien spelen. Het stadscentrum is ook gemakkelijk te bereiken. De kamer die we hadden was groot en schoon. Het bed was comfortabel en er was een grote tv. Ik heb er geen gebruik van kunnen maken, maar er is een zwembad.

Hostel location is nice near university of edinburgh. Breakfast menu is nice although its the same everyday even the options of fruits and crossiant fillings. Its freshly made everyday . Service is nice at ground level is really nice Pro: location, hotel staff , laundry and dry cleaning service on first come self serve basis. Rooms have AC , Table fans, iron kit , mircrowave and fridge. Con: Room service needs improvement. They have given it to 3rd party so have fixed timing and clean rooms faster and can be some times undone partially! I would recommend to stay here for 3-4 days or untill you are not bored of eating same breakfast :) Reception is available 24/7 which is nice. Nearest bus stop at forrest road.

Er stonden overal steigers aan de voorkant van het hotel, misschien omdat er gebouwd werd. Het uitzicht vanuit de kamer was steigerwerk. ^^....... Ik vroeg om een ​​andere kamer, maar ze zeiden dat het volgeboekt was... was dat echt zo...? Haha De netheid was, overbodig om te zeggen, 5-sterrenkwaliteit. Ik kon geen haar vinden. Ik vroeg om slippers omdat ze verdwenen waren, en ze kwamen een uur later bezorgen...^^....... De locatie ligt precies tussen de oude stad en het treinstation. Meer valt er niet over te zeggen, het is perfect. Maar verwacht geen geweldig uitzicht, tenzij je een dure kamer boekt. De service van het personeel was niet 5-sterren... Ze bewaren je bagage na het in- en uitchecken. + Ik kwam te vroeg aan om mijn bagage achter te laten, maar ze checkten me om 11 uur in! Dat was geweldig.

Loved the breakfasts! Normal fry up one day, haggis the next! We had an early start to go to the Highlands, but breakfast was all ready at 630am. Were even allowed to take some fruit and pastries away for the trip. Staff helpful, ordered our taxi. They were not too clued up on getting the transport into the city, this would be helpful as we are easily 30 minutes away from the centre. I would avoid getting the tram in and out of the city as the distance to the Gateway or Gyle Centre stop is a little far and unless you know where the hotel actually is, then it gets frustrating going the wrong way to get there. TIP:- From Gateway go under the bridge (well lit) and turn left to go up some steps (not ideal with suitcases) to get onto Glasgow Road, head past B&M then you can see the hotel. From Gyle Centre head towards Glasgow Road (dont try to navigate around the shopping centre just head to Morrisons and the main road - the other way you are trapped with no access to cross the railway line!) - go up the stairs and head towards B&M. If you are lucky enough to read this, then I have saved you 40 minutes and 2 miles of frustration! Some buses are cheaper than others (X38 was 1 quid for adults, kids were free)(100 is the airport bus - expensive)(31 was similar to tram price 2.20gbp for adults, 1.10gbp for kids).

It’s just a short walk to the city center, making it easy to explore, and for those who prefer not to walk, a quick 5-minute bus ride will take you wherever you need to go. The lounge area at the hotel is another highlight. It’s spacious, cozy, and thoughtfully equipped with blankets to keep guests comfortable if the temperature drops. It provided the perfect spot to unwind after a day of sightseeing. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the area. The combination of comfort, thoughtful service, and a prime location makes it a top choice. We will definitely be staying here again when we return!
