Novotel Edinburgh Centre

Over het algemeen was het prima. De eerste avond heb ik de receptie gevraagd om een taxi naar het treinstation te regelen, en daar was ik erg dankbaar voor! De wegen in Edinburgh zijn niet ideaal om met bagage te lopen. De taxi naar het station kostte £8,80. Het inchecken ging vrij langzaam, maar de bezienswaardigheden waren op ongeveer tien minuten lopen.

Without doubt, this was one of our finest hotel stays in recent memory. From the moment we arrived, Novotel Edinburgh set the tone with a level of warmth and professionalism that genuinely stood out. The staff were incredibly helpful throughout and what really demonstrated this was a small but telling moment: we lost our key card during the stay, and it was replaced immediately, without any fuss or inconvenience whatsoever. It's the kind of effortless service that puts you completely at ease, and it's something you remember long after checkout. The breakfast deserves a special mention — it was simply top notch. The spread was so good that holding back was near impossible, and it's the kind of breakfast that makes you actually look forward to the morning. Freshly prepared, well-stocked, and served with care — it's one of the best hotel breakfasts we've had. The location is outstanding. Sitting just a mile from Edinburgh Castle, you're right in the heart of one of the most iconic cities in the UK. Public transport couldn't be more convenient either  buses are accessible right behind the hotel, making it incredibly easy to get around the city without needing a car at all. The one area that needs addressing is parking. The hotel's own car park is frequently full, which meant we had to use the nearby NCP instead. To the hotel's credit, they did provide a discount for the NCP - a thoughtful gesture that softened the inconvenience. However, it's worth noting for electric vehicle drivers: the EV charging at the NCP is painfully slow, so factor that into your plans if you're arriving in an electric car. A heads-up from the hotel at check-in would go a long way. Parking frustrations aside, Novotel Edinburgh is a brilliant base for exploring the city - exceptional staff, an unmissable breakfast, and a location that's hard to beat. We'd return without hesitation.

I visited Edinburgh over Easter, which was also my birthday, and had a wonderful stay. Magda was incredibly kind and arranged an early check-in before noon after I confirmed the day before. She also surprised me with balloons and chocolates in my room for my birthday, which was such a thoughtful touch. The staff provided clear information and gave excellent recommendations on places to visit, making my first trip to Edinburgh even more enjoyable. The hotel’s central location was perfect, close to all the main attractions, and the pool was a great bonus. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would happily visit again.

In general all staff, location, environment and rooms were excellent 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻. And big hug for Edinburgh citizens for they smilly faces ❤️🤍🤍❤️

If your a family don’t book this place the room was 360 quid and you couldn’t fit a pram through the front door, 40 quid extra for parking at the hotel. It’s right in the middle of two main attraction places so you will do a lot of walking in between places. There is no aircon, the premier inn next door has aircon and it’s cheaper

The location couldn’t have been better for experiencing Edinburgh during Fringe festival. The room was cozy but worked well for a family of 4. The breakfast was very good as well.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The room was spacious, very clean, and looked newly decorated. The swimming pool was a decent size and well-maintained. While the breakfast options were a bit limited, the food served was satisfactory. The location is not in the very center of the city, but the neighborhood felt very safe and secure.

The hotel is nice and clean. Front desk are very nice and helpful. One only note is about system update: I have bought 2 breakfast for my stay but the breakfast place system still not able to show. So the staff has to check with Front desk. If the system is all in sync, then no need to manually check each day
