"Hotel classified as 4 stars, unfortunately our feelings were rather 2 or 3 stars. At check-in, don't ask questions, owners are unfriendly. It should be a minibar present but was just a empty refrigerator. From 22:00, everything is closed, no drinks are ordered anymore and no staff are in the whole house. The drinking machine was also out of operation. We had to leave early Sunday but couldn't leave before 8:00, because the owner had not yet to pay for something for which we had to pay 2 drinks. Also coffee was not at 7:30 at the hotel. It was not as clean as we are used to 4 star hotels in Germany."

Tijdens mijn verblijf viel de stroom even uit, wat kortstondig ongemakkelijk was, maar ik weet niet zeker of dit vaker voorkomt. Polen ligt aan de overkant van de brug, dus het is de moeite waard om erheen te gaan, al is er verder niet veel bijzonders te beleven. Misschien omdat het een grensstreek met Polen is, lijken er veel politieagenten te verblijven. Het ontbijt is redelijk gemiddeld."

"Very centrally located hotel, really great location! All attractions are in walking distance. Furthermore, the building is very beautiful and historically interesting, in our room was an old cover painting from the 16th century. - where is that already? The room was very spacious and clean, the facilities are well suited to the year of construction of the house. Very rich, varied breakfast, the staff in the breakfast room was very premature. Some little things are not ideal. So the water cooker's cable in our room was so short that you can't use it where it should be used, namely on the table - so the tea on the ground had to be prepared tea. The lift is also a little unusual. Although you can book parks, it doesn't really make a good weekend, since the public parks on the supermarket are free from Saturday night. "I had already written a wonderful review here, but it got lost. So, a quick summary again. Görlitz is always worth a trip, and Hotel Schwippbogen is an outstanding place to stay. It's truly a feel-good hotel! We had a fantastic room, and the excellent breakfast was served in a historic atmosphere. Manager Katrin and her team are always dedicated to their guests' well-being, and even individual requests are not overlooked. What more can I add? "great hidden gem in gorlitz, on a weir on the river with a lovely dining area outside, well appointed rooms and good breakfats, off road parking and cycle parking, will definately use again and have no hesitation recommending, upon arrival the waitress wrote out the entire menu into English by hand in order to be helpful, that really is going above and bbeyond great service"
