"Everything about Club Tropical Resort in the month of February, where the weather is consistently warm, humid and wet, is a complete joy to a visitor from Melbourne. The rooms are clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the ability to entertain friends and family are outstanding. The pool is the centerpiece of the whole site, where I spent many hours during my 7 day stay. For anyone who thinks it is too far away from the city of Darwin, there are supermarkets and the entire Casuarina shopping centre within a 5 minute drive. If it is wilderness you want, the resort is right next to that too with Buffalo Creek and Lee Point only a walk away. Parking is great, the restaurant was fantastic, and I am struggling to find anything wrong with my stay. But there was one thing - it was not long enough!"

"The goal of this hostel is to party hard: thumping music literally 7 days a week until 11pm at the earliest (seriously, i checked in on a Tuesday and the bass carried to every single room in the hostel). If you are 18 to 21 years old and that’s what you want, this hostel is great for it. For everything else, it is just NOT good. There is no common area other than the area right by the bar/music, so do not expect to be able to sit anywhere comfortable and read a book/watch a movie/calmly talk to anyone. Also, the place is filthy. Bathroom smelled like a barn, kitchen was pretty nasty by the evening each day, rooms were dirty and smelly. The shower doors had gaps so wide that I could make eye contact with people walking by hahahah. Also, NO RECYCLING BINS??? What the hell? Is this the 1970s? Unless I completely missed it somehow, I could not find a single recycling bin, so I had to throw away glass, tin cans, etc. The budget accommodation scene in Darwin is pretty grim, as I doubt the other hostels on Mitchell street are much quieter, and there really are no other options. The staff at MOM however were great, and did their best. Very helpful and accommodating."

"If WIFI is important don't stay here!! After travelling for 17 hours and looking forward to catching up on news and emails I arrive to find the small print on their welcome leaflet says they ' Offer LIMITED and INTERMITTENT acces for guests to check emails and search the internet'. I'm not a teenager who needs my internet acces limited. For NZ$159 per night, this is an absolute rip-off. I would not have booked here, to stay in what is a basic donga, and no WIFI. So now I'm having to use mobile data to do the basics. And if you like reading by a dull yellow / brown light, well you'll be happy with the lighting. otherwise bring a torch. Unimpressed? Sure am!"

"If you arrive outside the reception hours of 8 to 5 you will have to go to the H on Mitchell Street to check in. I didn’t get the text because apparently trip.com had given them some random number, definitely not mine. Other than that, it’s very noisy on a Friday night so make sure you have your earplugs, I messaged them about a couple of things (the kettle didn’t turn itself off after it boiled, there was no hot water coming out of the sink tap), bed was comfortable, location was good."

"Wonderful hotel with clean and wide rooms. It is also quiet even though it is located in the center of Darwin city. There are also amenities and restaurant inside the hotel. And the breakfast is really good with various choices. A supermarket opened till 10pm is also available 500m from the hotel . The reception is opened 24h a day. This hotel is also very convenient for whomever is going on day tours (for instance to Kakadu or Croc cruise) as there is a pick up location around 200 meters from the hotel (Leea hotel). We really had a wonderful 3 nights stay and really recommending this hotel! Note : the airport is only 20 min from the hotel."

Bins inside the room are too small given that the cleaning doesnt come everyday. They said it's every 7th day. We stayed for 4 nights by the way. Will definitely have to ask this everytime I book Mantra hotels"
