"I stayed here for business. There seem to be several other hotels in the same group nearby. They also offer hot spring tours. Both the hotel and the rooms are dark and dirty. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone."

"I stayed here for one night on my way home. The hotel is located in a traditional hot spring town, and has a calming atmosphere that evokes a sense of nostalgia. The hot spring was spacious, and the water was very warming. It felt like my body was completely relaxed, and I was able to completely relieve the fatigue of my travels. There was also a very good liquor store near the hotel, with a wide selection of local sake and rare brands, so I had no trouble choosing souvenirs. The price was also reasonable, and I was very satisfied with my stay in terms of value for money. It's not flashy, but it's the perfect place for those who want to quietly enjoy the hot springs and the local atmosphere. I would definitely stop by again if I'm passing by."

"We used public transportation and requested a shuttle to Togura Station. We arrived 6-7 minutes early. While other inns' shuttles waited for the train before the scheduled arrival, ours arrived a little after the scheduled time. It was a very cold, windy, and rainy day, leaving us alone at the station. It would have been fine if the person who came to pick us up had simply said, "Sorry for keeping you waiting in the cold," even if it was just a lie. Instead, they simply said, "Please, Mr./Ms. XX," which was disappointing. Even when I told them I'd carry my own luggage, they brushed my hand aside and touched my luggage without permission, which was extremely unpleasant. Even at cheaper inns, I've never experienced someone arriving a little late to the scheduled time or touching my luggage without permission (brushing my hand away was out of the question). Furthermore, waiting for check-in in the cold, windy, and rainy weather was unpleasant, especially since I was chilled and just wanted to warm up in my room. Not everyone enjoys welcome drinks and sweets, so I think professional customer service would be better if they could understand what the guest wants, let them into their room first, and then decide on the hotel and meal times later. If they're going to make them wait, they could provide them with a blanket or show them closer to the heater. Treating everyone the same doesn't seem worth the price. The only saving grace is that the room and the in-room hot spring were the best I've ever experienced. The furniture and layout were tasteful, and the refurbishment was excellent. I think the shuttle service could be improved. It's unacceptable. Pushing away guests' hands is also unacceptable."

I gave 4/5 stars for location because there are no particular views (it's right in the middle of the town), but the other features more than compensate for this. All the staff we met were very courteous and professional. Meals were traditional and introduced us to many interesting dishes. Onsens were small but since this hotel only has eight room, they are never crowded. Also the onsens are open through the night which I especially appreciated."

The toilet in my room was dirty; there was feces stuck to the bowl even before my stay, and I was shocked to see that it hadn't been cleaned. The room was also a bit dusty overall (the tissue box was especially dusty). Table tennis cost 550 yen for 30 minutes. Considering the price, the net wasn't properly strung, and the rackets were worn out, so it wasn't worth the price. The food was delicious in both quantity and quality. However, some staff members spoke to me in a casual manner, which was a bit of a concern."

"Cost-cutting measures were noticeable. I went to the hot springs two minutes before 3:30 PM, as I was told it would be open then, but it was pitch black. I returned to my room, contacted the front desk, and they turned on the lights. I was staying in what was advertised as the only suite in the building, so I expected to have breakfast there as well as dinner, but I was with a family with children and it wasn't very relaxing. I wish they had at least provided private dining rooms for meals on the special suite floor. The evacuation route map posted on the room door was also from before the renovation. Dinner was delicious, with local ingredients skillfully prepared."

"The room was average but spacious, the hot spring was nice, and the service was good. I had informed them I was bringing a baby, so they provided a diaper bag and baby bedding. The food was delicious and luxurious for the price, and the price was really low, so I'd rate this as "very good"! The location is also great. Kamiyamada Onsen has a shooting gallery and snack bar, and it feels like a hot spring town from the good old days. Drinks from the vending machines are free, and if you serve yourself from the beer server, beer is only 100 yen, which is really cheap. It's not a luxury inn, but it's a nice, rustic hot spring, and I'd love to go again."

"Het was een geweldige verblijf. Het personeel was ongelooflijk vriendelijk en de natuurlijke onzin was prachtig. Ik voelde zelfs mijn huid verbeterd in de loop van onze dagen. We waren aanvankelijk een beetje bezorgd omdat twee mensen in onze groep tatoeages hebben, maar het was helemaal geen probleem (zolang de tatoeages zijn bedekt en niet te groot). Ze verkopen zelfs dekkingskleur op de receptie (220 yen per kleermiddel, grootte 10 × 20 cm), wat zeer handig was. De binnen- en buitenomgevingen waren prachtig en zeer ontspannen. Hoewel de kamers traditioneel Japans stijl waren en het buiten heel koud was tijdens onze winterbezoek, de kamers waren comfortabel warm. De futons waren super comfortabel en we sliepen allemaal heel goed. Eén ding om echter te bedenken is dat de ryokan ongeveer een 30-minute wandeling van de treinstation is. Het is ook een goed idee om geld te brengen, omdat creditcards niet worden aanvaard. Dat gezegd heeft, de stad zelf is rustig en charmant. Op de weg naar het station, loopt u een prachtige rivier met bergen in de achtergrond. Over het geheel genomen hadden we een fantastische ervaring en zouden we gelukkig weer terugkomen!"
