"We verbleven hier twee nachten. De prijs was wat aan de hoge kant, maar we hadden het hotel pas twee weken voor onze reis geboekt. Het hotel ligt in een industriegebied, maar wel vlakbij het treinstation, waardoor Bilbao makkelijk te bereiken is. De kamer was ruim en erg schoon, en het personeel was vriendelijk en beleefd. Als u met de auto komt, kunt u gratis parkeren op het terrein of in de buurt. Al met al hebben we een fantastisch verblijf gehad en we zouden dit hotel zeker aanraden!"

The spa is very good, with a variety of pools, and the massages are very pleasant. It also has a very well-equipped gym, far exceeding the average found even in much better hotels. Room for improvement: the in-room safe is broken, and the closet should have doors, much better than a curtain. But above all, the service at breakfast could be improved. The guy in the kitchen the morning I was there was very unfriendly and rude. I asked him if they could make me some scrambled eggs (because the truth is that the healthy breakfast options were very limited), and his response was to slam the door in my face. Very unpleasant; it really has tarnished the rest of his colleagues' work."

Maar de prijs was behoorlijk hoog in vergelijking met de locatie en de faciliteiten."

"This is an amazing hotel. It has been renovated to an incredibly high standard. The rooms are well furnished with tea and coffee making facilities. The bathroom has some of the best towels I have come across in a hotel. The bed was incredibly comfortable. The staff made us feel so welcome and were super helpful. Our waitress at diner was so lovely. The food was amazing, the quality and the presentation were first class. Don’t eat too much too early in breakfast as choices kept coming and were freshly cooked. It was a wonderful experience and comes highly recommended."

Helaas hebben we een klein hoek kamertje (211)met klein raampje en weinig ruimte maar dat bleek bij navraag te komen omdat wij 2 aparte bedden hadden gevraagd.. ook is een open badkamer ook niet ideaal als vriendenstel .. weinig privacy .. dit voldoet niet aan onze verwachtingen…"

"Although it was last July when I stayed at Gailurretan, my experience there still remains as one of the best stays I've ever had. A little hard to share a gem when you find one, but Gailurretan and Maike deserve the highest praise. I spent 6 nights there, travelling solo. The location is beyond stunning and has to be seen to be believed. The beautiful traditional house is spotless and each room is decorated with a different theme. The pool area is surrounded by shaded trees to laze under and just gaze at the incredible view of the valley. It truly is a haven of peace and tranquility. Every guest I spoke to shared the feeling that it feels like a home from home. Maika is the most welcoming, natural and warm host who strives to make your stay at Gailurretan the best that it can be. I arrived as a guest and left as a friend. The food is fabulous and the vibe is low key. A place like this is a rare find and I look forward to my next visit!"

Het zwembad op het dak is ook een geweldige plek om het vuurwerk te bekijken! Het personeel was zo behulpzaam en vriendelijk. En hoewel we geen schoonmaak nodig hadden tijdens ons verblijf, boden ze elke dag aan om onze kamer schoon te maken of handdoeken en andere benodigdheden te vervangen. Wat een geweldige ervaring. We komen zeker terug!"

"My experience is about the Oneko restaurant inside the hotel, where we were there as a family celebrating a birthday. It was a huge disappointment. To begin with, we booked a menu for 4, and when we called a few days before to confirm, they had it listed as for 3. Thank goodness we called... Afterwards, nothing went well. It took them half an hour to move from one course to the next (on two occasions), making our digestion difficult. It took us a good 3 hours to finish the menu, because on the other occasions it took them an average of 15 minutes from the time they removed the dishes to the time they served the rest, and there was no one else in the restaurant because we were alone. Furthermore, they served us three dishes first, and they always left one of us without a dish and brought it back 5-10 minutes later (causing our dishes to get even colder). Besides, only one of the dishes was served hot, while the rest were lukewarm/cold. This is in very bad taste. We mentioned this to the waitress who was there, and she apologized and said she would bring it up to the kitchen, but we never heard from the kitchen, nor did anyone come out to even speak and apologize or explain why there were so many setbacks. So I'm forced to post this review, since they didn't know how to handle the criticism when we complained there, as is understandable. We've been to all kinds of restaurants, Michelin-starred and non-Michelin-starred, and even to cheaper ones. We've never had this happen to us, with half-cold dishes and these ugly details, and on top of that, the menu isn't cheap, at 65 euros. As I said, even in cheaper places, the service has been infinitely better (or at least better than usual, because this was a disaster). On top of that, they brought us the meat, and when serving it, the waitress asked us if we wanted it more well-done, but once it was placed on the table (you ask this before the meat or even before the meal), it's never like that when it's already being served. And I told him I wanted it more well-done, and he took it off the table and took it back (unheard of), taking the corresponding 10 minutes longer, and they brought it back to me raw, so I left the meat there. Of course, we had been to a wedding there, and that's why we went, but it's not worth the 65 euros it costs, since it's not the food that's bad, it's the service: extremely slow, with half-cold dishes and very ugly details. We definitely won't be going back. A real disappointment. For a price like that, there are thousands of places with service that matches the price, and at least, if someone had come out to explain why everything was so bad, the half-cold dishes, and why it took so long... But not even that. Anyway."

"Toen ik het hotel binnenkwam, was er niemand in de receptie en er was niemand tijdens de verblijf die we konden zoeken. Bij de check-out moesten we de kaarten op de shower laten omdat er niemand was om de station te sluiten. De kamer ruikte zeer vochtig en de badkamers waren geel. Reinigen is geen sterke plek van het hotel. We vergaten een T-shirt, ik belde voor het eerst om te vragen, maar toen ik het schoonmaakte, zag niemand en liet niets achter (gewoon vreemd, maar begrijpelijk). Ik heb bij de tweede telefoontje niet goed gesproken, die mij op de telefoon antwoordde, heeft zich op een zeer verachtelijke en onachtzaam manier geleid."
