"We stayed for three nights with a 50% discounted half board voucher, although I did book an upgraded room with balcony - room 202 - which had a partial lake view overlooking the beautiful gardens. There was a small sitting area inside as well, and the room was really spacious enough for us. The breakfast buffet was excellent, and when we came back to our room it had already been made up. It’s also a hotel that still has a turndown service whilst we were at dinner. All lovely details. To put it succinctly, we loved the hotel! Its location at the end of the pedestrian zone was ideal, the cleanliness and comfort were 5-star and the personnel, from reception to wait staff and housekeeping were all wonderful! In other words, I have nothing but superlatives to describe this lovely hotel. We very much enjoyed our dinners in the lakeside restaurant - the only negative comment I would make is that the portions of the main course were simply too big. Our lovely waiter suggested he bring us half portions for our last night, which was just perfect. Some of the rooms apparently have beautiful painted ceilings, and although ours didn’t, we did very much enjoy the sitting rooms and other public places. We’ve just had a terrible year of family grief so this little trip away (we live in the French part of Switzerland) was balm for our souls. I’d love to come back!"

"Hotel Check In great service,on the 28th of May however the nice lady forgot to give us the Ticino card….. Room has a nice view, nice balcony. And a fridge Very thin walls you can hear the neighbors conversation…. That was a bit strange. Showerhead a bit wobbly, shower curtain interesting design choice, towel old and thin not very comfortable. Breakfast not a lot of choices. Considering multi cultural guests. Check out 30th of May Receptionist should maybe look for another job, she came across rude and unfriendly. Only forced a smile out when we said goodbye. If we were to come back to Ascona. We would most likely look for another hotel."

"We chose this hotel because of the parking place (pre-booking required) and the central location and we were not disappointed. Very friendly reception, clean and comfortable rooms and with functional air conditioning (an important thing for this heat). We had rooms with balcony. The breakfast was very rich and was taken on the beautiful garden terrace with many flowers and plants. Thanks for again."

"Highly recommend this hotel. The owners are super friendly and do everything they can to accommodate guests needs. The rooms are spacious with natural sunlight. Everything is very clean. The breakfast buffet is very good. Beautiful garden with trampoline for the kids. Relaxing terrace to wind down with a drink. Loved everything about this place."

"😊4 nacht verblijf (28 april). Grote service van wandelen in de deur op 28e tot vertrek op 2 mei 😊👍.. Alles over Casa Berno is de eerste klasse ⭐.. Geen spottende diensten in de hele wereld, met een niveau van dienst die gelijk was ⭐... Het is gemakkelijk te zien waarom Ulrike, die het restaurant beheert, al meer dan 30 jaar in het hotel is geweest.. in een woord ze was uitstekend! 😊. Er is veel meer ik kan zeggen.. Maar misschien probeer het gewoon voor jezelf 😊👍⭐. Ps: dank u aan iedereen 😊"

"The people REALLY care that you have a good time. We had a few changes in our booking, very understanding. Highlight reccomend Amazing location, parking a bit annoying, but doable Good breakfast, ice cold AC! Rooms are a bit small, but great price, and its Switzerland, everything is small"

"This was a superb and very comfortable hotel. We were upgraded to a family room with balcony and lake views although the extra space included a room with bunk beds which we did not need. The hotel has had a total refurbishment in the past few years and is contemporary but not too modern. Service was top notch. Although there was a wedding on the night we arrived our small group ate in the restaurant and had outstanding food. Superb breakfast."

"Het hotel in het gebouw Bauhaus is functioneel, schoon, essentieel, maar comfortabel en met alle comfort. Maar er ontbreekt de airconditioning, evenals de tv (wat niet nodig gezien de schoonheid van de plaats), maar kan wandelen door de tuinen, een thee in het nabijgelegen huis, of gewoon rusten op stoelen in de tegenover de ingang liggende grasland De badkamers zijn groot en er is een zeer schoon bad, waar u zich te duiken en kijken, zonder te worden gezien, een prachtig landschap. Goed en verscheidene ontbijt. Het personeel is aardig en opvallend, maar vooral altijd beschikbaar om informatie te verstrekken en eventuele problemen op te lossen. Het restaurant van het hotel is goed met een vast menu."
