"Recently enjoyed a fabulous three night stay at the Seagate and will certainly be staying again. The room was excellent as was the view ,room had everything you could possibly need from hairdryer,iron and ironing board to a beautiful basket of snacks should you get the midnight munchies. Had a small issue with the shower that was fixed by the time we arrived back from our day out even though we had insisted it was fine for us and they could leave it until we'd checked out great service! Staff were all lovely from housekeeping to front of house,bar staff ect . Special mention to Chris and Tom at checkout."

"The room was clean and tidy The room was warm and even with a small fan and all the Velux windows open it was still warm. The breakfast was interesting I went for the full English 1 sausage 1 egg beans black pudding and the smallest piece of bacon I’ve ever had half a mushroom and half a tomato are margins that tight the can’t give you a full mushroom or tomato Not a lover of sourdough bread it was very tough Love Appledore won’t be giving The George any more of my hard earned money"

"We stayed at the Sailor’s Rest for 2 nights at the end of August and found it to be good value considering the time of year. We managed to park for free just outside on the road without any trouble. Check in was straightforward – the instructions were clear and we got into the building and collected our key easily from the secure key box. Our room (no. 6) was up in the loft space. It was cosy, clean and nice and quiet. No view from the bedroom itself as it only had skylights, but the bathroom had a lovely sea view. The Nespresso machine and fridge were nice additions. We paid a bit more to have breakfast included, which meant walking down the road to the Royal George. Some previous reviewers seemed to see this as a downside but we actually enjoyed the short stroll each morning, even in the rain one day. Breakfast was absolutely delicious and definitely worth it. Overall, a really comfortable stay and somewhere we’d happily book again if ever in the area."

"We hadden vier nachten als een familie van vier volwassenen, een baby en een toddler. Het was genoeg ruimte voor ons allen en het appartement was groter dan we ons hadden voorgesteld, wat geweldig was. De bedden waren comfortabel en het uitzicht is ongelooflijk. De schoonheid van de plek was niet goed, de houten vloer was zo gruwelijk dat binnen vijf minuten lopen al onze voeten zwart waren. We gingen naar iemand om het probleem te bespreken, omdat we vroeg (wat geweldig was) konden controleren, maar we vroegen ons af of het niet was afgemaakt en we een mop werden gegeven om het zelf te doen. We moesten onszelf niet bemoeien, maar duidelijk niet ideaal. Zelfs na een mop was het niet veel beter, dus de volgende dag mochten we weer moppen, het moet het graan in de vloer of iets, maar we konden het niet schoonmaken en we droegen allemaal sokken voor de rest van de verblijf. Bij het controleren van deze plek voordat we kiezen om te boeken, vroegen we ons af over de geur en het geluid van de pizza plaats hieronder; geen recensies vermelden, dus we gingen door met het boeken. Het is echter vrij ruikend en geluidsoverlast! Zodra u de voordeur opent in de trap manier er een overweldigende geur van oude gekochte/gebrande olie, en als u uw ramen open laat vorige 5:30 krijgt u gewoon bbq/pizza geur in uw slaapkamers. Een schande als in de zomer is het vrij warm op de tweede verdieping dus het was een keuze tussen geur en geluid of een zeer drukke kamer. Het geluid dat we verwachten boven een restaurant, maar veel drukke deuren in het gebouw. Dus ja, een gemengde beoordeling en over het algemeen zouden we hier niet meer blijven."
