Hot Springs hotels in Nagano Prefecture, Japan

Location: Near to Karuizawa train station (approximately 15 min walk to hotel west) and 10min walk to shopping mall. 5 min shuttle bus to reach ski area. Room: Clean and comfortable. But the bath powder is like toilet detergent scent. Amenities: there is Family mart operates until 11pm in hotel west. Service: Front desk lady can’t really speak English and hard to communicate. The man at cloakroom is unfriendly. Shuttle bus service: Shuttle bus service provided within the shopping area, hotel east and west. However, the instruction is unclear to us. When we queued up for the bus to station, the hotel staff did not inform us the bus was here and to align the bus but just change the next bus arrival timing. Until entire lane of the guests missed the bus. We had to walk all the way to station with our huge luggage. Snow Park: No clear direction or sign board to go snow park from hotel east. The snow park area is kinda small and suitable for young kid (below 7 years old). It is boring for kid above 7 years old.

The price is not that expensive, so we didn’t expect that much. However, everything was really great. Large and clean public onsen. The breakfast was really really brilliant - variety of food and the taste is very yummy. Only the con is a bit far from the city but it’s not our concern. Really impressed. The hotel also provides the drinking station everywhere. Free drinks and snack at the lounge too.

The hotel is located close to Nagano Station, only a 5-minute walk away. The room is not very large, but not too small either. The onsen is a bit small and can get crowded. I loved the staff’s service—they were very kind—and I especially enjoyed the ice cream provided during onsen hours and free soba at night. Breakfast was very good. I liked the beef suki soup and the Nagano pork.

It was the first night of my entire trip—and also the most expensive one. But it was absolutely worth it! Lake Suwa was right in front of the hotel. If you take the train, it might be a bit of a walk, but since I drove, the location was perfect. The hotel was incredibly spacious, and the onsen was lovely. Dinner (a full course meal) was exceptional, and breakfast was just as impressive—absolutely delicious! One thing I still wonder about: what were those insects outside the window at night? They clung to the glass, and I was afraid they might get inside. Thankfully, the window seals were excellent, so none of them made it indoors. Only the outdoor bath had a few, which was understandable. I truly hope I can go back again—with my mom next time!

Het hotel ligt ver weg van het JR Shinano Omachi Station, maar als u uw reis naar Tateyama Kurobe beëindigt en vervolgens de lokale bus neemt vanaf het Ogizawa Station, hoeft u slechts één halte (Hina***ama Plateau) over te steken. Er zijn verschillende faciliteiten in het hotel waar de gasten gebruik van kunnen maken, en de servicegerichtheid is zeer goed, wat alle lof verdient! Alleen is er in de omgeving een gebrek aan restaurants en zijn er niet veel eetgelegenheden. Daarnaast biedt het hotel op zaterdag, zondag en feestdagen een gratis pendelbus rechtstreeks naar het JR Shinano Omachi Station. Online reserveren is verplicht. Over het algemeen is al het andere, behalve transport en catering, zeer bevredigend👍!

De kamer was schoon en ruime. Hoewel de meubilair een beetje oud voelde, was het nog steeds zeer comfortabel en had alles wat ik nodig had voor een aangename verblijf. Het hotel is comfortabel gelegen naast het station Nagano, wat maakte het om zeer gemakkelijk om te komen. Als ik Nagano nog eens bezoek, zou ik hier zeker blijven.

I chosen Cottage A to stay in. While there is nothing much to complain about the cute cottage, personally it is a bit too small for me. But nice environment, good and helpful staff and a very convenient shuttle system to bring you around. You can also call an internal shuttle service that can ferry you from your cottage to the newer West hotel for their buffet breakfast. Otherwise you can eat at the East Hotel for either a Japanese meal set breakfast or a Western style set breakfast. The bread is really good and soft. The outlet shopping mall is accessed by their half hourly shuttle bus and you can do your premium shopping there and eat at their various restaurants or at their food court style food outlets.

Het hotel ligt vlak bij station Nagano, wat prettig is. Het bevindt zich aan de andere kant van het station ten opzichte van de toeristische attracties, maar dichtbij genoeg om geen probleem te zijn. De ingang van de hotelkamer was niet te smal, dus ik kon mijn bagage er makkelijk neerzetten. Ik vond het ook fijn dat er twee tweepersoonsbedden naast elkaar stonden. De onsen (warmwaterbron), hoewel klein, was gratis, dus daar was ik tevreden over. Echter, ze rekenen 90.000 won als je je kamersleutel kwijtraakt. Hoe ze het ook proberen goed te praten, het is een schandalig bedrag voor gasten. Ik heb al een reservering gemaakt, maar ik kan die niet annuleren. Als dit niet wordt verbeterd, kan het een serieus probleem worden voor gasten.

Hotel Tangram provides a unforgettable experience with its exotic location next to a ski/snowboard facility, to have supreme services and the thing. I remember most except the skiing part is the onsen, the onsen provides a lovely arrange of tubs various sizes which consume of eg: cold bath tubs indoor warm tubs and an outdoor tub especially if you are lucky there might be snow raining in to the tub and you can witness a special surpirse. overall I believe coming here is a good choice and can guaranteer you a good stay.

I stayed at this hotel for one night, and overall, it was quite a pleasant experience. I really liked my room — it was clean, modern, and comfortable. The only thing that surprised me was that the window to the balcony didn’t open, though I suppose it was designed that way. The onsen was absolutely wonderful — spacious, relaxing, and with a beautiful view of a mountain river. Definitely one of the highlights of my stay. The hotel also offers many different areas for leisure and entertainment. You can play table tennis, relax in cozy rest zones, visit small cafés and shops — there’s a lot to explore without even leaving the building. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious, with a wide variety of food to choose from. However, due to the number of guests, it was a bit challenging for the staff to manage everything smoothly. On two occasions, someone almost took my table, even though I had already placed the reservation card on it to show it was taken. That said, the staff overall were very pleasant, friendly, and helpful, and I appreciated their attitude throughout my stay. This hotel is clearly family-oriented, with many families staying with young children. There are rooms with child-friendly designs and dedicated play areas, so if you’re looking for a quiet, adult-only atmosphere, this might not be the best fit. That said, I genuinely enjoyed my stay and would consider coming back.
