"It is rather disappointing that while that room is simple and nice, it seriously lacked the basic necessities of the room. Pls take note that there are no room slippers provided and the floor clearly is not cleaned (our socks are black as we did not bring our own slippers). The WiFi is also not stable, firstly we couldn't even find our room WiFi and the technician came to fix it. However, the connection was lost on and off hence, very frustrating. Pls also take note that there is no daily cleaning / refreshing of the rooms. We stayed for 3 nights and we had to make do with how we entered the room from 1st day to last day. :( Besides the location, we probably wont come back to stay again, unless the management of apartment decided to improve the level of service and amenities provided to guests."

"Ik boekte het PARKROYAL Penang lastminute voor een overnachting vlakbij het strand, en de prijs was al vrij hoog. Laten we beginnen met de positieve punten: het uitzicht op zee vanuit de kamer en het hotel is adembenemend. Het hotel biedt directe toegang tot het strand en ligt dicht bij restaurants aan het strand. Het ontbijt is uitgebreid en het ontbijtrestaurant biedt ook een prachtig uitzicht op zee. Er is een bushalte direct voor het hotel, waardoor je 's avonds gemakkelijk veel restaurants in de buurt kunt bereiken. De negatieve punten: De geluidsisolatie van het hotel is niet optimaal en je kon mensen uit de kamers ernaast horen. De lakens, dekbedovertrekken en kussens waren allemaal vochtig. Ik weet niet of dat kwam door de ligging aan het strand of dat het beddengoed niet droog genoeg was; het voelde alsof ik op een vochtige deken sliep. Het was zo oncomfortabel dat ik het niet meer kon verdragen en het personeel vroeg om ze te vervangen. De gootsteen was verstopt en de afvoer was erg traag. Omdat het maar een overnachting was, heb ik het ermee gedaan. Voor een hotel van meer dan 1.200 yuan per nacht was de kwaliteit de prijs niet waard."

"Great hospitality and service throughout my stay in Penang Amari Spice Hotel. Upon arrival, the reception team kindly upgraded me to a Premier King room without any request, which was a wonderful surprise. The room was spacious, clean, well-maintained, and had a pleasant scent—everything was excellent. I would like to express my utmost appreciation to the midnight team on 21/03/2026. During our stay, my friend suddenly fell seriously ill during midnight . We attempted to call emergency services (999), but unfortunately were unable to get through to the nearby general hospital immediately. The situation was critical, and waiting another 10–20 minutes could have put my friend’s life at risk. Thankfully, the Penang Amari hotel team acted swiftly and professionally. They followed up with us, and the female manager along with the guy management team arrived promptly to assess the situation. They provided immediate support and helped arrange transportation to the nearest hospital, ensuring we arrived within 10 minutes. Thanks to their quick response and care, my friend’s life was saved. And even after check out they still texting us to concern on the guest safety. We are deeply grateful for their kindness, efficiency, and dedication during such a critical moment. Het strand voor het hotel is een goede plek om de zonsondergang te bekijken en watersporten te beoefenen. Er zijn veel eetgelegenheden en vuurshows te zien wanneer u het strand verlaat. Het ontbijt is eenvoudig en de kamer is doorsnee, maar er is een vaste zanger op vrijdagavond. Kortom, er zijn voor- en nadelen, maar de algehele prijs-kwaliteitverhouding is prima."

The room was large and comfortable, perfect for families with children under 12. The kids especially loved having the pool right outside the room, making it easy for parents to keep an eye on them. The service overall was not disappointing. The main issue, however, was the presence of Charlie ants, which could be dangerous for children.

Stayed at Lone Pine Hotel recently and loved my ground‑floor sea‑facing room. Super clean, comfy, and literally steps from the beach though it is fenced up to demarcate the hotel's grounds. Parking was easy, and the whole area is convenient — hawker stalls, beach bars, and convenience stores all within a short walk. Breakfast buffet was solid too, with a nice mix of local and Western stuff. Great way to start the day. Only complaint? The 3rd party water sports guys clutter the beachfront with equipment, and an excavator on the sand ruins the sea view. There was also an excavator parked on the beach, doing who‑knows‑what, which disrupted the otherwise serene beachfront setting. Despite these external issues, Lone Pine itself delivers a comfortable, convenient, and enjoyable stay. I would return — hopefully with a clearer sea view next time.

Our overall experience during this stay was extremely satisfying. The hotel boasts a beautiful environment, facing the sea with stunning views, especially the infinity pool and ocean scenery which are perfect for photos. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the bed was very good, allowing us to truly relax. The hotel is ideal for families with children; our little one had a great time. The pool and beach are both very convenient, and you could easily spend the whole day there without getting bored. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and both check-in and check-out were smooth. The breakfast offered a wide variety of choices and tasted good. If you're looking for a relaxing getaway, this is an excellent choice. My only small suggestion is that the pool can get quite crowded during peak season, so I hope they can add more loungers in the future. Overall, I would recommend it to friends and would stay here again.

Great service and a fantastic pool! The breakfast was good; I had lots of watermelon juice, and the jackfruit was already peeled, so I ate a big bowl every time. Excellent value for money, and you can have as much yogurt as you like. Sitting outside for photos was perfect. The bed, duvet, and pillows were all super comfortable, and the air conditioning was great too. There are many night markets nearby, a McDonald's, and lots of shows on the beach. The sunset was amazing!

Facilities: The in-room facilities are a bit old, but there are many great small details. For example, the clothesline in the bathtub, the drying rack on the balcony, and the night light. The air conditioning and fan in the room were super comfortable. Cleanliness: Overall cleanliness was good, but some areas had dust. There was also a large dead cockroach on the balcony. Environment: A very beautiful hotel, the pool and lawn are stunning! Service: The front desk staff were very polite. The staff also helped with luggage. The restaurant staff were also very helpful; knowing we were rushing for our flight, they served our meal quickly.

I had a wonderful stay at Crowne Plaza Butterworth. The hotel is modern, clean, and very well maintained. The room was spacious, comfortable, and offered a great view. The bed was incredibly comfortable, making it easy to get a good night's sleep. The staff were warm, friendly, and always ready to help with a smile. Check-in and check-out were smooth and efficient. The breakfast had a wide variety of delicious choices, and the quality of the food was excellent. The location is also very convenient, with easy access to shops, restaurants, and Penang via the ferry or bridge. Overall, it was a relaxing and enjoyable experience. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend Crowne Plaza Butterworth to anyone visiting the area.

Positive -have requested for a connecting room， and hotel arranged the connecting room for us. The buffer restaurant got a nice view, but not our room, Negative - we were allocated the room could see the opposite building closely, means other buildings could see us as well. No privacy at all. Rooms getting a bit dated The rubbish bin not clean up every day We haven't been notified there was a short renovation upstairs in the afternoon, we were taking rest at the hotel by that time. The worse is after we come back from dinner, the light at the corridor and in our room all dark. This is the first time I experienced all night off in my hotel room. The manager told me that because we switched off the main switch, and made both rooms light off. Do you think it is possible for us even turn off the corridor light and another room night? In fact, we never turn off the light.

Traveling with kids, the two-bedroom apartment was incredibly convenient. The room was clean and tidy. There's a swimming pool and gym on the top floor, and a washing machine and dryer on the first floor. The hotel's location is also excellent. There's a convenience store downstairs, a 7-Eleven just across the street, and plenty of restaurants nearby – we tried two, and both were delicious. It's about a 30-minute walk to Armenian Street, and you'll see durian sellers everywhere along the way. The only disappointment was that our room wasn't cleaned once during our four-day stay. We were told that for consecutive stays, rooms would be cleaned every three days, but this didn't happen.

This hotel is absolutely worth staying at! The heritage wing's design is exquisite, like a small museum waiting to be explored. While the rooms do have a noticeable historical feel, a bit old with some creaky noises and dated switches, this rich historical ambiance and style are precisely what make this hotel so special. Plus, guests in the old wing get fantastic perks: a generous minibar with wine, snacks, and a full range of beers, sodas, and juices, along with happy hour benefits, and even the daily newspaper delivered each morning with a lovely ritual. The pool and sea view are simply unbeatable. Breakfast in the old wing is à la carte and tastes great, though the dining area is quite small, so you might have a long wait. If that's an issue, you can always head to the new wing for their buffet breakfast instead.
