Hotels met bar in Hyogo Prefecture, Japan

"My non-smoking room smelled of smoke. Fortunately the staff were exceptional, and I soon received another room. One staff told me that because the room was ”Japanese Style”, and that I had to take the bedding from the closet, move the low table and make up my own futon. I live in Japan and I know what a ”Japanese Style” room is. Ryokans of a good grade will have staff make up the futons. When a hotel is too large, the work of making up the futons for all rooms becomes onerous, however, one wonders why ”five star hotel” if one has to make up one's own futon AND receive education on what a ”Japanese Style” room entails [ I am in the hotel business]. The lobby is bleak and looks cheap. No style, no charm. The seating is ugly and cheap. There are real plants here and there but no cut flowers. Cut flowers are very expensive in Japan. Too expensive for this hotel. The final point is that I booked this specific hotel in order to take a swim. Although the weather was fine, the pool had closed the day before I arrived. The pool was still full of water, perfect and peaceful, but ”closed”. No doubt, this saves on staff and other expenses, in the same way that making up one's own futon does . . . all this is fine for a hostel, but not for a luxury hotel. I have been generous with my star-giving because I like to be kind, and because several of the staff were truly exceptional in their kindness and service, however, we hope that the management will note our comments. Please pay for more staff and please keep your pool open as long as the weather permits. Global warming means pools can stay open longer. :-)"

"島花さんに泊まったのは初めてでしたがニューアワジグループのサービスの良さに感動でした。 夢泉景で釣りが出来て鯛を2匹釣ったのですが夜のディナーに調理して出してくださりとても美味しくいただきました。残りはきれいに処理していただき持ち帰ることが出来ました。島花は対岸の少し離れた場所にありますが湯めぐりも送迎していただけるので問題なく楽しめました。 またホカンスしに行きたいです"

"I wanted to get a hotel away from the city centre but near enough to head down. Glad to have found and stayed at Hotel Hewitt Koshien. Very near to Koshien train station and there’s a mall between the station and hotel. There’s also laundromat in the hotel (3 washer + dryer machines). Hotel in-room amenities are more than sufficient and the service team can make up room daily upon request. Hanshin Koshien stadium is also nearby where you can check out the museum too! There’s also a Lawson outside the train station if you want to get drinks and snacks. Starbucks too for coffee! There’s also a nice park around 2km away and I head down for my morning jog. Nice scenery and fresh air!"

"The room was great! Felt comfortable and cozy. As for location wise, the crowd outside during the late evening is abit rowdy with clubs along the way from station to hotel. Not really suitsble for families with kids. Nonetheless, I enjoyed my stay. Thanks."

"Eerst is deze locatie een beetje uit de weg, als u wilt blijven dicht bij het centrum ...je moet de ”Portliner” een paar stappen. Ik heb het niet gehad, maar ik realiseerde me niets toen ik boekte. Ik heb het gekozen om de onsen / sauna, en ik was erg tevreden: dit was de beste sauna / koude buis die ik in Japan had (tot nu toe). Het was warmer (en kouder) dan alles andere. De echte warme tube was ook goed, maar ik concentreer me op sauna ＞ koude tube cycli meer dan alles. De kamers zijn nieuw en zien er goed uit, als ze niet klein zijn. Blijf een nacht als je op de stenen bent ... gebruik de onsen ...naar de koffie-melk. Je zult je geweldig voelen. De daktoop bar / restaurant was ook aardig en zeer vriendelijk personeel!"
