"Dit hotel gaf me een zeer onverwachte verrassing. Het was mijn eerste keer dat ik naar Shirakawa-go ging, dus ik boekte dit hotel op Ctrip. Toen ik bij het hotel aankwam, ontdekte ik dat het een warmwaterbronhotel was, en dat was het ook een zeer goed resorthotel met warmwaterbronnen; de omgeving. Het is heel mooi en aangenaam, en ook erg rustig; de sleutel is dat het Japanse eten zo heerlijk is, dat het zo bedwelmend is om van het eten te genieten terwijl je naar het landschap buiten het raam kijkt; De warmwaterbron is ook heel uniek, de buitenwarmwaterbron heeft een buitenwarmwaterbron gemaakt van hout. Er zijn grote stoelen, zodat u kunt genieten van het buitenlandschap terwijl u geniet van de warmwaterbronnen. Er is ook gratis privéwarmwater bronnen om in te genieten. De kamer is ook zeer ruim en comfortabel. Het hotel heeft een gratis auto om op te halen en af ​​te zetten van het busstation in Shirakawa-go. "Exceptional accommodation and service! My husband and I purely enjoyed our time at Yunoshimakan. We had a room with private open air bath because of my tattoos (so public bath wasn’t an option), and it was 100% worth its price. Kaiseki dinner was excellent, the buildings are adorable, we couldn’t wish a better service. Before coming, I thought that more than 1 day at onsen is waste of time — and totally regret the hadn’t made a choice to stay for a longer time. My advice: order a taxi or ask for a transfer if you carry a suitcase. I am really sorry for my husband who needed to carry our luggage 300m upstairs."

"The hotel is settled in the middle of Gero Hot Spring town, short walk from the train station and can also be reached via bus from Kamikochi area. The hotel itself is very clean and well maintained. You can feel the spirit of older times in this hotel with a lot of beautifully selected decoration pieces. The manager showed us around and even offered us a new room since I accidentally booked one without shower (we declined that offer since we only wanted to stay for one night). That’s why we used the Onsen area for showering which is beautiful and includes all amenities. View above Gero and including an outside Onsen area to watch the sunrise. The staff was very friendly, the manager even drove us to the bus station since we forgot our jackets in the bus. The bar is well-equipped and a great place for a drink or two. One of the best parts was the breakfast. Never had such a good Japanese breakfast before- delicious, served in a private room, beautifully arranged. Next time we want to try their dinner :-) We felt like family and I can recommend anyone going to Gero to stay at this great hotel! Thanks again for your hospitality!"

Overall, everything was good, and we had a pleasant stay. However, I would just like to mention the hotel’s occupancy policy. Although the room had two single beds, the booking was only for one adult, and an additional charge was required for the second adult. We respect the hotel’s policy, but we hope the hotel may consider reviewing this in the future. Apart from this, everything else was good, and we enjoyed our stay.

The hotel is very close to JR Takayama Station. After exiting the station, you don't need to cross the road; just turn right towards Tokyu Stay, and you'll find it after passing Ajikura Tengoku. The hotel's decor is very unique. We booked a corner triple room, so the space was incredibly spacious and comfortable. Besides drip coffee and tea bags, the room also provided bottled mineral water. There's an open-air bath on the 9th floor – simply flawless. Before my trip, I read many reviews recommending Hida beef, but to my dismay, I discovered Ajikura Tengoku was closed when I arrived (ugh!). Luckily, I quickly found Maruaki, a famous Hida beef restaurant open year-round. The beef was incredibly rich and fatty – you'll definitely fall in love with Hida beef! I'm already planning to come back next year! 😋

Magnificent stay at a natural onsen village. The most brilliant Ryokan you can imagine. Built at the beginning of the 20th century and renovated, all locations inside are beautiful and Instagrammable. Spent an anniversary here with my wife and had the best impressions of the whole trip. The Kaiseki dinner was above our expectations. The waitress explained everything, and we got a true cultural experience.

Great room! We booked the quadruple room and it fits all of us 4 adults and 2 children. Great onsen experience! They provide complete amenities such as different kind of shampoos, hairband, kose brand skincare, refa hairdryer, and many more. Good japanese style dinner and breakfast! The pork during dinner was so tender, really loved it. All day food is available here such as ramen at 10pm, yakult, and many more!

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel and was very happy with my experience. The staff were incredibly kind, friendly, and professional, always making me feel welcome. The hotel was exceptionally clean, beautiful, and cozy. The breakfast was delicious with a good variety of food. One of the highlights was the excellent facilities. I especially enjoyed the swimming pool and the three onsen baths. There was a lovely open-air rotenburo on the first floor, another onsen on the third floor, and a beautiful panoramic onsen on the ninth floor with an amazing view. Everything exceeded my expectations, and I truly enjoyed my stay. I would definitely come back and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing and comfortable vacation.

Traveling with young children and seniors, the hotel's location was excellent. It's probably just a two-minute walk from Takayama JR and the bus station, and there's a FamilyMart nearby, which is very convenient. The hotel has a small hot spring, which was nice and relaxing. Breakfast is a set meal, and it's quite filling. However, the cleanliness of the room could be improved; the carpet felt a bit dirty.

Hotels in Takayama are usually quite expensive on weekends. I booked this one last minute and was pleasantly surprised. The room was spacious, very clean, and tidy. You can enjoy a hot spring bath on the top floor, and there are even family pools. It's really refreshing to have a popsicle after a soak. On the first floor, there are free iced drinks and a selection of manga to read. The only downside is the lack of dining options nearby, but everything else was great.

I had a very relaxing three-night stay at Okada Ryokan. The service was excellent—staff were consistently warm and attentive, especially during meal times, which made the experience feel extra special. The food was simple and clean. I enjoyed it a lot but I was getting a little bored of it by the 5th meal. We added on a hida beef steak after seeing a few Japanese tourist ordering it. If you like fatty and soft beef, you should try it. The public onsen is spacious, with four pools. The outdoor pool is big and quiet. The room was comfortable and well heated for winter. The private onsen in the room was a highlight; it easily fits two people and was perfect for relaxing after a long day. This ryokan is over 100 years old, with parts of the structure dating back around 150 years. For a building of that age, I’d say it’s been well maintained. A small part of me wish the bathroom could be newer and cleaner but I would be missing the whole point. Staying here truly feels like stepping back in time—it was a unique and memorable experience. There are two local ski resorts within a 15-minute drive, and Takayama is about a 45-minute drive away.

The hotel service was incredibly satisfying. From check-in, we had a dedicated butler who patiently explained all the hotel facilities and took care of our dinner and breakfast arrangements. However, there's no indoor bathroom in the room, so showering outdoors in colder weather would be quite challenging. On another note, it's worth mentioning that the hotel includes taxi service; you can just hop into any taxi at the station and go straight to the hotel, and they'll cover the cost.

I chose this hotel because of its location and how nice the room looked, which turned out to exceed my expectations. I had an exceptional experience staying here. It’s less than a 5-minute walk from Takayama Station. We arrived quite early—several hours before check-in—but were able to store our luggage. The check-in process itself was smooth. The room we reserved felt more like an apartment-style hotel room. It was very spacious, with plenty of room to move around. I liked how the furniture was arranged; everything was well-maintained, clean, and tidy. The beds were large, and I especially appreciated that they provided four pillows each—I slept very comfortably. I also loved the balcony. My friend and I spent hours there, watching cars and trains come and go, as well as people walking by. The facilities and amenities were exactly as advertised in the Services & Amenities section. Out of my recent two-week trip, this accommodation was the place I enjoyed the most.
