Big problems at check in but this was actually trip.coms faulty for not confirming booking with hotel. Trip.com happy to take my money first had to complaint against trip.com the compensated me but with a fight. Location good you get breakfast included don't expect anything special. Like no round eggs. Torquay is quite expensive so alcohol and drinks prices at the hotel high. You can walk to marina in 5 minutes. No car parking so if you want parking be prepared to walk

Although the standard twin bed room we occupied is quite small, it is well decorated, has modern furniture and is spotlessly clean. There is a recent shower unit, a TV, a fan, and tea and coffee making facilities. There are twin electrical sockets and 4 USB outlets adjacent to each bed. While the window looks along the coast rather than directly out to sea, the view is very pleasant. The English breakfast was good, and the manager, Adam, very helpful. There is parking on a hard-standing at the side of the hotel. The sea and pier are close by, and the main shopping area is walkable. Overall we enjoyed our stay a lot. Two constructive suggestions are (1) a shelf in the bathroom for toiletries which won't stand on top of the curved sink, and (2) provision of a toilet brush.

This hotel is very clean and all the woman receptionist very polite and helpful. Very happy with the service from them. The 2 man night staff were not helpful. I didn’t understand why I can’t order drink for our room and pay end of the stay. We even received letter in the morning that was outside the room not in envelope which everyone can read I didn’t like at all , reason been dater protection with don’t forget to pay for our order which we did straight away and had my full name on it.We stayed for 3 night so what was such a problem for those 2 night shift man. Otherwise all our stay was perfect. Thank u

Wanneer je verblijft bij South Sands Hotel in Salcombe, bevind je je aan het strand, in de buurt van Het Kanaal en South Sands. Dit hotel bij het strand ligt op 29,3 km van Dartmoor National Park en op 0,1 km van Splat Cove. De accommodatie heeft een terras waar je van het uitzicht kunt genieten, maar profiteer ook van gratis wifi en een open haard in de lobby. Dit hotel heeft ook een bankethal en fietsenstalling. Stil je honger bij South Sands Restaurant, een restaurant aan het strand met een bar/lounge en uitzicht op de zee. In de koffiebar/het café kun je ook iets eten. Dagelijks kun je van 07.30 uur tot 10.30 uur genieten van een gratis uitgebreid ontbijt.  Enkele van de voorzieningen zijn een stomerij/wasserijservice, een 24-uurs receptie en meertalig personeel. Ter plaatse heb je gratis parkeerplaatsen. Overnacht in één van de 27 kamers met een flatscreentelevisie. Dankzij gratis wifi blijf je online, terwijl de tv met digitale zenders zorgt voor het kijkplezier. Badkamers beschikken over een bad/douchecombinatie, designer toiletartikelen en haardrogers. Voorzieningen zijn bijvoorbeeld een kluis, een bureau en een telefoon met gratis lokale gesprekken.

We booked a 1 night stay for New Years Eve and were very happy with everything. The room with a view was lovely . Warm & with tea coffee facilities & a comfy bed. The staff were all very friendly & accommodating and breakfast was plentiful in a lovely dining area with fab views. My only small grumbles would be that the furniture in the room needs an upgrade and there was a £10 charge for the car park .

AAndyPPThe hotel and area was fantastic, however, service at the front desk and the restaurant was lacking. We took a long weekend break and were excited to try the beach club, however our experience was dampened by the service. Being made to stand around for 5 minutes, whilst being told we hadn't paid (when we had) was unnecessary and frankly embarrassing. The restaurant was the most disappointing part of the stay. I'm the evening service was slow, followed by having our order wrong twice and also dropped. Breakfast at the restaurant was lacking compared to cheaper hotels that offer continental. Small selection , nothing outstanding. When we ordered a cooked breakfast, it took 30-40 minutes to receive some eggs and pancakes although the restaurant was fairly quiet. However, the room, facilities, and the spa were fantastic. Beautiful and comfortable rooms. The beach club outside was gorgeous. The spa was perfect and treatments were, to quote my partner, 'one of the best massages of my life'. We're unsure if we would come back. Although the facilities were great, the service was mostly subpar and not what we'd expect from a harbour hotel.

GGuest UserBooed through trip.com. Made a mistake in my booking and booed a room that required disabled access. This was pointed out by a very helpful young lady called Laura (I think?)   She amended our booking and very gratefully gave us a sea view room!  We had stayed in Paignton the previous night in the Travelodge down the road as it was a bit cheaper. If/when we come again I’d have no hesitation in paying the extra and staying here again.  Please thank the wonderful Laura from us! 👍 Mr & Mrs Joyce
