Great feel for the life in the mountains
This small cabin, garden and out buildings are nicely annotated to educate the visitor about the life of the Brinegars during their lives here and the building of the Parkway.

I loved this cabin. It really made me think.
What a remarkable woman!! Mrs. Brinegar lived a busy life in the 1800's, I would guess. That little cabin really made me realize how hard they had to work, and yet how happy they must have been.

This cabin is fascinating, but really not near Asheville. I found it on TripAdvisor "things to do in Asheville", but it is pretty close to my home in Alleghany County...three hours from asheville.

Great feel for the life in the mountains
