A fortress on the Black sea

We drove there from Batumi and nearly missed it as the entrance to it is in a bend of the road. On a cliff it commanded a strategic position but there is not much left of it

Not a great deal to see here and not really worth the stop over. This area was closed off when we visited. Lots of rubble.

An anti climax

If you have been to a real fortress,this will be a disappointment. If you are looking for a place to drive to then why not visit?
