Roseate spoonbills and alligators

I was really excited to see some roseate spoonbills. Don't except a true tourist site. It was more like we just pulled over on the side of the road and walked through some high grass to see the bird...

Best bird watching ever

I love going here and photographing the hundreds of nesting rosiettas and herons and ibisis. They are beautiful to watch caring for and feeding their young chicks. Be careful of the alligators.

Rip's Was Ripping Good

The restaurant overlooks the water, and tree shaded lawn. the food was excellent. Unfortunately, the window we were seated next was faded.

Beautiful views

Hard to beat the views or the food. Sit outside under the oaks and enjoy a great meal. Service is good, food is better.

Great place to observe Roseate Spoonbills nesting

Just south of Jefferson Island Road and Rip Van Winkle intersection there is a small (3 vehicles) parking lot to use so that you can walk to the edge of the water where you can watch Roseate Spoonbill...
