Early morning bliss
Visit early morning and watch people taking holy dip in Tungabhadra. Sunrise here is a site to behold. Also take ferry across.

Scenic
A walk by the riverside between Virupaksha and Vitthala temple offers many quaint sceneries and slightly away from the main crowd. I would say definitely spend some time doing it!
