Stayed in a city view room at Sheraton Kota Kinabalu, but was pleasantly surprised to still catch a glimpse of the perfect blue sea and even spot speedboats from the window—such a nice bonus! My kid absolutely loved the swimming pool on the 23rd floor. The cool breeze and 360-degree view of Kota Kinabalu made it extra special. The gym also comes with a great view, which makes working out a lot more enjoyable. Buffet breakfast on the 5th floor was just nice, available from 6:30am to 10:30am—perfect timing to start the day with a relaxed morning. I also want to give a big kudos to the housekeeping team—I accidentally left some belongings behind, and they carefully packed everything for me to collect. Overall, a wonderful and memorable stay. Would definitely come back again.

Never expecting this such great location, Just walk within 10 min to Pasar Philipin,wet market,grocery and so on . Amenities well prepared, staff was so kind. I forgot her name. Check in late evening and she really helpful and full of greeting. And one more things, i LEFT MY WALLET here, And after arriving at the airport i noticed my wallet was lost or missing. Then i call the receptionist, THEY KEPT my wallet . 😭 All staff members are so kind! From cleaning services till the front desk ! KUDOS! I will come again!! THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU! I cant thank you enough.

Although theree was an error on the booking system at my side...but they solve the problem easily by giving me a room with seaview..(seems to be an upgrade to me) the room is clean and the cleaner did their job really well too by adding more towel rather than change my towel...for the breakfast it's good, though the only problem is their drinks is bland...thats all

Had a wonderful Christmas Eve stay here. I stayed in a golf field view room, which was incredibly peaceful and calming. Even with the golf field view, I could still see parts of the ocean, and the sunset was absolutely beautiful. I spent some time at the pool and was able to enjoy a stunning sunset from there as well, overlooking the pier by the beach — it was truly an amazing view. I ordered room service during my stay and was very impressed with how prompt and friendly the service was. The room was cozy, clean, and very comfortable, and I especially enjoyed relaxing in the bathtub after a long day. Overall, everything felt calm and well taken care of, making it a perfect stay. I would definitely choose to stay here again next time.

Dit resort heeft een prachtig uitzicht op zee, maar een heel klein strandje waar je lekker kon spelen. Ik besloot om in Sutera Harbour te verblijven in plaats van in Shangrila vanwege het springkussen bij het zwembad. Het springkussen is echter niet altijd open; ik heb de openingstijden bijgevoegd ter referentie. Bovendien was het springkussen op de eerste dag van aankomst gesloten van 16.00 tot 18.00 uur. Op de t****e dag was het ook gesloten van 12.00 tot 14.00 uur. Dat was dus een grote teleurstelling. Gelukkig kon mijn zoontje wel spelen van 16.00 tot 18.00 uur. Het inchecken gaat langzaam, maar het personeel is vriendelijk. Merk op dat er veel Chinese toeristen in het hotel verblijven, maar al het personeel dat ik tegenkwam spreekt helemaal geen Chinees. Ik vraag me af waarom het hotel geen personeel in dienst heeft dat Chinees spreekt, aangezien er zoveel Chinese toeristen verblijven. Het hotel biedt een shuttleservice naar winkelcentra en het stadscentrum, wat erg handig is.

This place seriously blew me away. Located above Imago mall and styled like a high-end hotel, the room felt ultra-luxurious from the moment I walked in. Yes, it’s on the pricier side — but you can see and feel where the money goes. Every detail screams premium: a Dyson hairdryer, thick and fluffy slippers, electronic blinds, touch-control lighting, and a stunning bathtub that instantly sets the mood for a relaxing stay. The design is sleek, modern, and Instagram-worthy in every corner. What truly sets this place apart is the generosity in amenities. Instead of the standard small bottled water, they provide 1500ml drinking water, plus free-flow drinking water and soft drinks to enjoy anytime. Even the Starbucks cups added a classy, thoughtful touch that made the stay feel extra special. On top of all that, parking is provided, making it incredibly convenient — especially with the mall right downstairs. This isn’t just a place to sleep — it’s an experience. If you love luxury, comfort, and those little details that make you say “wow”, this place absolutely delivers.

The room was spacious and the air conditioning was comfortably cold, which I really appreciated. However, the carpet was dirty and there were noticeable cigarette marks on it, which affected the overall cleanliness. The shower pressure was just okay, not very strong. With some improvements in cleanliness and maintenance, the stay could be much better.

Before our arrival, I reached out to the resort to share our situation, hoping for a smooth stay with two young children. Ezmareena Ismail (Nurish) responded promptly, ensuring that the resort was well aware of our needs. Upon check-in, a gentleman named Jordan (if I recall correctly) went above and beyond by upgrading our room to better accommodate the extra bed we requested for the kids. The surprises didn't stop there. When we entered the room, we were deeply moved to find a thoughtful letter and beautiful flowers prepared by the staff to celebrate our anniversary. It was a heartwarming gesture that made us feel truly valued. Throughout our stay, Melania kept in constant touch via text messages to ensure we had everything we needed and were comfortable. Thanks to the incredible staff and their genuine hospitality, our family had a blissful and memorable holiday. I cannot recommend Shangri-La Tanjung Aru enough for anyone looking for an exceptional experience. We are so grateful for the wonderful memories!
