The Hotel Location is easy to access and lots of good food & salon amenities around it. Likewise, the Hotel Room is clean and tidy. The Customer Service is friendly & courteous. Also, I would like to compliment their Technician Staff having good fast response who came to repair our Card Slot System immediately when we notified them that our room has no more power supply due to the faulty card slot system. Keep up thwbGood Work!

Hotel is wearing down fast. I have stayed quite a few times and surprised how fast it’s wearing down. They don’t provide hand soap at wash basin. I needed to call guest services and it took them half an hour to bring me 2 small bars of soap. Did they expect me to bring my own soap to wash my hands or use the soap in the shower - I am a little confused. Anyway location is still great and the new huge store Mr DIY is great. Also the anchor butter at breakfast tasted like margarine but on closer examination it is butter.

5-Star ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely impeccable stay! This place is super brand new, spotless, and unbelievably classy from the moment you walk in. Huge space with a big balcony overlooking the awesome sea view! It made us all smile waking up to it! The home is simple yet beautiful and immaculately clean down to every detail. The toilet? Super classy and hotel-level luxe. In fact, one of our kids said, It’s like a classy hotel in a homestay!” and they were 100% right! If you want space, style, and that five-star feel without the hotel price tag, BOOK THIS NOW! My family and I can’t wait to return and will definitely book this again, and check out all their 3- 4 bedrooms units! Definitely a gem! Don’t miss it!

De locatie is fantastisch en het uitzicht vanaf onze accommodatie is adembenemend. We waren ook aangenaam verrast door de geweldige service van receptioniste Hazirah bij het inchecken. Bedankt Azira! 😘 Ik kon geen volle punten geven voor de netheid, omdat er een slipje in de badkamer lag, waarschijnlijk van de vorige gasten. Anders zou het een 10/10 zijn geweest voor dit verblijf.

We hebben een prettig verblijf gehad. Het hotel is nieuw en schoon. Er zijn snacks, koffie en een waterkoeler in de pantry. De locatie is gunstig, vlakbij restaurants en de zondagse avondmarkt. De boiler lekte, maar het hotel reageerde snel en heeft het gerepareerd. Een minpuntje was de slechte geluidsisolatie. Er is een tussendeur naar de kamer ernaast, waardoor ik de gesprekken van mijn buren kon horen.

Mixed Experience – Good Service Recovery but Initial Handling Could Be Better I recently stayed at Holiday Villa Johor Bahru City Centre and had a mixed experience. For the first two nights, we suspected the room was not properly cleaned as both my husband and I experienced continuous sneezing throughout the stay. I reported this to the front desk after the first night, but no action was taken or escalated. Unfortunately, we had to endure a second uncomfortable night before I raised the issue again to the duty manager. I must commend the duty manager for her prompt and decisive action — she arranged an immediate room change, which made a significant difference. This level of service recovery was appreciated. However, it is unclear why the initial concern was not escalated earlier by the front desk, which could have prevented unnecessary discomfort. On a positive note, when I fell sick during the stay, the front desk staff were thoughtful enough to send porridge and warm water to my room — a kind gesture that I truly appreciated. The hotel’s location is very convenient, and the breakfast selection varies daily, which is a plus. A special mention to the egg station staff — they were consistently friendly and attentive, handling every request with a smile even during busy periods. Check-out was smooth and efficient. Overall, while there were some lapses in initial handling, the service recovery and certain staff members’ efforts stood out.

I stayed at Five Hotel primarily for the location, which is unbeatable. It’s an easy walk to the CIQ, major malls, and plenty of great eateries. If you just need a clean place to crash, it hits the basics. However, the room design left a lot to be desired. The space is very cramped, and the bathroom layout is questionable—there was no soap at the sink, and the shower screen is too small to contain the water, so the floor gets soaked. The biggest issue, though, is the noise. The walls are thin, and every time a door opens, a loud alarm sounds. If you have neighbors coming or going late at night or early in the morning, you will hear it. As a light sleeper, this was a major downside. It’s clean and functional, but I’ll likely look elsewhere for my next trip.

Ons verblijf hier was van begin tot eind een zeer aangename ervaring. Vanaf het moment dat we aankwamen, was het personeel erg behulpzaam en geduldig. Ze begeleidden ons zorgvuldig bij het inchecken en zorgden er zelfs voor dat we probleemloos de lift konden gebruiken en de kamer in konden. Deze aandacht zorgde ervoor dat we ons echt op ons gemak voelden, vooral na een lange reis. Toen we de kamer binnenkwamen, viel ons meteen op hoe schoon en netjes alles was. De kamer zag er precies zo uit als op de foto's, zo niet beter. Het bed was netjes opgemaakt, het beddengoed en de handdoeken waren fris en schoon, en er was geen onaangename geur. De ruimte was ook behoorlijk ruim, waardoor we gemakkelijk onze bagage konden uitpakken en ons comfortabel konden bewegen. Tijdens ons verblijf hadden we een kleine vraag over het gebruik van de wasmachine. We namen contact op met het personeel en kregen snel en vriendelijk antwoord. Ze boden zelfs aan om het persoonlijk uit te leggen als dat nodig was, wat aantoonde hoe attent en zorgzaam hun service was. De kamer was ook voorzien van een keuken met basisbenodigdheden, wat erg handig was om eenvoudige maaltijden te bereiden en ons verblijf huiselijker maakte. Een ander prettig detail was dat er tegen een toeslag ontbijt beschikbaar was. Het personeel was zo vriendelijk om ons korting op het ontbijt te geven, wat we erg op prijs stelden. Het was een attent gebaar en maakte ons verblijf nog aangenamer. Hartelijk dank voor de warme gastvrijheid. De locatie is ook een groot pluspunt. Er zijn tal van restaurants en winkels in de buurt, dus het was erg makkelijk om je te verplaatsen. Ondanks de levendige buurt was de kamer 's nachts rustig en hebben we heerlijk geslapen. Het personeel herinnerde ons er ook aan om na 22:00 uur geen lawaai te maken, wat aantoont dat de accommodatie goed beheerd wordt en rekening houdt met alle gasten. Vóór het uitchecken nam het team nog even contact met ons op om te vragen of we tijdens ons verblijf nog problemen hadden ondervonden. Dit kleine gebaar maakte echt een verschil en liet zien dat ze oprecht om de ervaring van hun gasten geven. Al met al was dit een comfortabel, stressvrij en aangenaam verblijf. We zouden deze plek zeker nog eens kiezen en raden het iedereen die de omgeving bezoekt van harte aan.

Deze keer verbleef ik in het Opero Hotel Southkey in Johor Bahru en was over het algemeen zeer tevreden. Het is een hotel met een uitstekende prijs-kwaliteitverhouding. 📍 De locatie is echt superhandig: Het hotel ligt direct naast het Mid Valley Southkey winkelcentrum, op slechts een paar minuten lopen. Je hoeft je geen zorgen te maken over eten, winkelen of boodschappen doen, wat erg prettig is voor korte uitstapjes of een weekendje weg. 🛏️ Kamerervaring: De kamer was schoon, modern en minimalistisch ingericht. Het bed sliep heerlijk en de geluidsisolatie was goed, dus 's nachts was het erg rustig. De waterdruk in de badkamer was stabiel en er was voldoende warm water. Alles was goed onderhouden en voelde niet aan als een oud hotel. 🍽️ Voorzieningen top: * Enorme keuze in het winkelcentrum (restaurants, cafés, supermarkten, massages, make-up, alles is er) * 's Avonds is het gemakkelijk om een late snack, koffie of dagelijkse benodigdheden te halen. * Je hoeft niet speciaal een taxi naar het stadscentrum te nemen om je te vermaken. 🚗 Vervoer en bereikbaarheid: * Vanuit Singapore kun je na de CIQ-douane direct een Grab nemen. * Het hotel heeft parkeerplaatsen, dus ook handig als je met de auto komt. * Een taxi naar het stadscentrum, KSL of City Square is ook niet ver. 💬 Service: De receptie was vriendelijk en het in- en uitchecken verliep vlekkeloos. Vragen werden snel beantwoord, wat een geruststellend gevoel gaf. ✨ Samenvattend: Als je een schoon, rustig hotel zoekt met een superhandige locatie vlak bij een winkelcentrum in Johor Bahru, dan is Opero Hotel Southkey echt een aanrader. Het ontbijt was heerlijk. Het is geschikt voor koppels, vrienden en korte weekendverblijven. De volgende keer dat ik in Johor Bahru ben, zal ik hier zeker weer verblijven! 👍

The location of the hotel is superb. Opposite JB City Square and 5mins away from CIQ. Convenience for those that want to stay near CIQ. Connected to 2 malls. Private car park. Do take note that the car park a bit narrow so be careful. Breakfast varieties considered average, free for kids under the ages of 12. The only they lacking of is their lifts. The lifts always got problem. This time round stuck inside at least 5mins. Not able to go up to our floor although floor level had been pressed. Hopefully they able to rectify the lifts so that everything going smooth.
