"This is the best ever hotel I have ever been to in Japan. The name Richmond guarantees so many things. You can count on it. Even though it’s not in a big city like Tokyo or Osaka, but if you are visiting Morioka - choose this hotel. It worth every penny of yours. The staffs are so helpful, dedicated and dependable at anytime and any situation you need. All staffs say that their English are not good, but I who lived in London for many years would say that their skill is more than just okay. Even the housekeepers are still nice. I have some problems with my luggage transfers to the airport from the hotel and they are trying their best to help me alleviate those.
There is a free service lounge from noon to 8pm in the 2nd floor. The microwave oven and ice machine on the 7th floor. The coin washing machine is also located on the 7th floor - 500 yens for wash and dry. Convenient store(Lawson) is on the ground floor with direct access from the lobby.
I’ve stayed on the 9th floor. The room is big and the view of the station was fabulous. Free WiFi is available. And the TV system communicates with all the system of the hotel shows all the information you need - even the time left of the coin washing machine that you used.
Yakiniku and many delicious restaurants just around the corner from the hotel.
Definitely will stay here again anytime I visit Morioka."

"1. Het hotel biedt ophaal- en wegbrengdiensten naar Hanamaki en Shin-Hanamaki. Er rijden elke dag meerdere bussen, waardoor het erg handig is om heen en weer te reizen. Het kan worden gebruikt als het centrum van het Hanamaki-toerisme.
2. Osawa Hot Spring was destijds erg populair bij Kenji Miyazawa. Het heeft een goed bewaard gebleven oud huis met eigen kookgelegenheid en een gemengde warmwaterbron. De catering is ook genereus en zuinig. Het diner in het hotel begint bij 5.500 yen per persoon en ik voel me erg vol. Er zijn twee eigen badkamers in het hotel. Eén daarvan kan worden gedeeld door gasten op de zelfstandige afdeling. Er zijn veel mensen en de andere is exclusief voor het hotel en er zijn minder mensen maar er is geen openluchtbad. De privékamers met warmwaterbronnen van het hotel zijn op basis van wie het eerst komt, het eerst maalt, dus u kunt ze gebruiken als u niemand in de buurt ziet.
3. Het hele hotel is vol geschiedenis en erg rustig. Je hoort eigenlijk alleen het geluid van de Fengze-rivier ernaast. Het is zeer geschikt om uit te rusten en je kunt ook een korte wandeling in de buurt maken. We verbleven 3 nachten, we waren slechts een Chinese familie."

"We were two people staying 3 nights.
We had breakfast and we were very happy with it (6:30-10:00, L.O 9:30). It didn’t change much during the stay, but it had a lot of options and it tasted good.
The room was small. If you have suitcase it will be hard to open it up. We didn’t have suitcases, so for us it was no problem. The bed and pillows were comfortable.
They have a manga library and coffe machine (15:00-22:00), and space with tables and chairs where you can e.g eat.
They have laundry as well (10:00-22:00). It was cheep (washing 400 yen 30 min, dryer 100 yen 10 min). It was a standing washing machine (which I don’t really like) and we had a lot of laundry, so we went to another coin laundry 1 min walk from the hotel, which was good (washing 15 kg 30 min 800 yen, drying 10 min 100 yen).
We didn’t use room cleaning, but every day we got a bag of towels on our door knob.
It is around 10-15 min walk to the station. But it’s close to shopping streets and Iwaki park. It has a lot of restaurants close by. If you like all-you-can-drink there’s a lot of options close by as well.
After check out we left our baggage for a couple of hours. It was no problem.
The people at the hotel were very nice and polite.
Overall we had a very nice stay at this hotel."

We loved the hotel so much in Oct 2025 so we rebooked and came again from Dec 20-24, 2025.
1. Very convenient for ski experience. Ski in and ski out. Ski rental and ski coach school are just besides hotel. Good experience for rentals and coaches hiring.
2. Breakfast and dinner buffets are great and so yummy! The food does change every night to give you diversified variation to choose from. Very delicate food preparations by great chefs so don’t worry you will never get bored.
3. Onsen is also great great great! Great view and women and men get alternate the hot spring pool everyday.
4. First floor relaxing area is great great! You have self service bar of juice / soda / coffee and popsicles.
5. The hotel staffs are so nice and make you feel at home. Motoyo-San is extremely friendly and her English is so fluent!!! We were very lucky to have her help out during our stay.
6. 3rd floor is newly renovated so pls try this beautiful room next time!
Highly recommend!!!! Great for family and couple trips!"

"We arrived late from an overseas trip but before the check in last call. Staff was friendly and thorough. The air conditioning seemed a bit weak but otherwise kept us cool. The rooms were western style, including the bathrooms and were well stocked. We didn't get a chance to eat there as we slept in until almost checkout. Beautiful place. Will likely stay there again in the future if we need another night in Morioka!"

"Location is very good, just two minutes walk from JR station. The shuttle bus stop to ski area is just one minute walk. Next to hotel is a big parking lot. Room is clean, but no hook for hanging stuff in the bathroom. No expectation in public bath, better than nothing. Kitakima is a very sleepy town, few selection of restaurants in town, no restaurant near the hotel, but one inside the hotel. Steak is great there. Wrong room type had been allocated to me ( not the problem of the hotel), but finally being compensated by Trip.com."

AAnonymous UserThe environment: The room was surprisingly spacious, exceeding my expectations. There's a 24-hour convenience store right downstairs, and you can use your room key to enter and exit. It's also very close to the train station.
Facilities: The facilities were great. They even provided free hydrating facial masks and toiletries, making it the only hotel on my trip to Japan that offered masks.
Service: Breakfast was quite varied, and the floor-to-ceiling windows offered a view directly across from Morioka Station, so you could enjoy the scenery while eating. Guests staying on certain floors also had access to afternoon tea, with cakes, nuts, and drinks, and could enjoy the night view in the evening!
Overall, I felt it was excellent value for money!

The hotel isn't modern or new, but it's well-maintained. Stayed in the tatami room and it's extremely spacious.
Opt for the dinner buffet as there aren't lots of dining options unless you drive. Breakfast was full of Western and Japanese options. Oiishi!

JJiangchuanmaijiuThe hotel is located directly opposite the red circle at Morioka Station's South Exit. You can't get there directly, so you'll need to go around it to the right (it's farther to the left).
Morioka Station has many self-service luggage lockers, which is very convenient.
The hotel is quite convenient, and the free breakfast is satisfying, but the elevator wait can be difficult during the morning hours.

SStaliciousWe had a pleasant stay in general. However, room ceaning service needs to be improved. Our group of people have a few bad experiences.
1) after returning to room after the day, there was a used mask left in the bathroom. There’s also a day without providing onsen towels and we had to bring over the mid size ones
2) the door of my friend’s room remained open after the cleaning service (a 3M sticker with なすし2 sticked on wall). Glad there’s no missing items
3) another room, there was blood and urine stint left on the toilet cover!
I hope the hotel can take it seriously as it indeed ruins the brand of IHG and bad customer experience.

DDevI stayed at this place during my hike through the Michinoku coastal trail. This is a good choice before you attempt Kurosakiso and Kitayamazaki coast. This can be reached easily from Horinai station. Cross the big bridge and walk a bit more, you can see the sign to the left. The hotel has nice indoor and outdoor onsen. Many locals come here to use the onsen. They probably have annual or life membership to use the onsen. It is a nice opportunity to chat with some of them. When I was there, it was raining and hence I could not enjoy the view, however, using onsen after hiking in the rain was quite relaxing. On a clear day, the ocean can be seen from the room window. Dinner can be ordered and is quite good at a reasonable price. The next day, the hotel shuttle dropped me to the train station which was quite nice, I did not have to walk in rain.

BBeepbeep3inchDeepThis hotel is really out-of-the-way; I'd recommend driving. It's mainly a place to go if you want to ski, as it's by a ski resort. I found the area to be very quiet. The hotel food was excellent, though you'll need some level of Japanese proficiency to effectively communicate with the staff. You can enjoy a bath in your room, or the hot springs downstairs. Overall quite nice, the rooms have a cottage feel.

It is a small hotel, but there are a number of rooms or more parking lots, so it seems that you cannot park your car.
A system where you can give a card key at check-in and put it in a box when you go out and leave it as it is. You don't need to leave it at the front desk when you go out. Simple but no trouble.
It is a little far from the nearest Ichinoseki station and the downtown area in front of the station (?), but it is a distance that cannot be walked. Is it a little closer from the east exit? It seems to be within the taxi first ride fare range.
There are seven eleven and drug stores (food super type goods) within 3 minutes walk of the inn, and there is no particular inconvenience in shopping.
The room doesn't feel that big, but it has everything you need to stay as a business and it's a good impression. There is no particular concern about beds and bedding.
WIFI speed is no problem, and the sound of other rooms is not particularly heard and comfortable. Best environment if you don't ask for excessive service.
Free breakfast is a system that takes bread, small bowls, yogurt (Danon), and beverages by yourself. It's simple, but if you don't need ”guts from the morning!”, you can even feel that it's just right.
The price is the lowest among the hotels near ichinoseki station, and there is no shortage of service if it is a business use with a car.
I think it will be a good choice for those who do not ask for extra service for accommodation.
Personally I was able to stay comfortably.
