"Locatie: Zeer dicht bij de trein- en busstations, op minder dan 10 minuten lopen, maar de weg ernaartoe is wat heuvelachtig, waardoor de wandeling met zware bagage wat vermoeiend kan zijn. Er is een selfservicewasserette tegenover het hotel en een prachtige monumentale kerk is vlakbij. De bezienswaardigheden in het stadscentrum zijn ook slechts ongeveer 20 minuten lopen. Ik heb alle drie de dagen dat ik er was, gelopen; taxi's zijn goedkoop, maar de wandeling was aangenaam.
Schoonmaak: Dit is een relatief nieuw hotel, een zeldzaamheid in Europa, dus het was erg schoon.
Faciliteiten: Zeer nieuw en goed ontworpen.
Service: Het personeel was efficiënt, maar ze vulden geen water en koffie bij voor terugkerende gasten. Ik had drie kamers geboekt, en in één ervan kreeg ik een welkomstgeschenk van chocolaatjes en eierpasteitjes, terwijl dat bij de andere twee niet het geval was."

"Veel wegen in Porto gaan bergop en bergaf, en dit hotel ligt ook op een heuvel, maar het is wel heel dicht bij de winkelstraat en de mooiste McDonald's. Alle bezienswaardigheden zijn op loopafstand.
Een taxi vanaf het treinstation kostte volgens Bolt ongeveer €5, maar wij namen voor het gemak direct na het verlaten van het station een taxi. De taxichauffeurs daar zijn echt vreselijk! Ze namen ons mee op een enorme omweg langs de kust voordat we eindelijk bij het hotel aankwamen. Toen we vroegen waarom ze ons steeds verder brachten, zeiden ze dat de kortere route te druk was. Ze maakten van een ritje van €5 een rit van €18! Taxichauffeurs in Portugal zijn echt oplichters!
De service in het hotel was echter prima, en de prijs was over het algemeen redelijk. Er zijn ook veel restaurants in de buurt."

De binnenplaats van het hotel is zeer stijlvol ontworpen en zelfs in de winter was het heerlijk om er met een drankje te zitten. WWestopiaFantastic location and large common area, with inclusive breakfast and a welcome drink at their downstairs bar! The domitory is clean with all the facilities you would need, and the staff are all very nice! There are hot water in both the shower and the sink, which I really appreciate. If they could provide hair-dryer in the dorms it would be perfect, right now you can only borrow one from the reception, and you might not br in luck if someone else has taken it.

Our 1st visit was so impressive that we had booked 2 more stays short after for our family. Yet the last visit turned into a disaster.
Nobody answering phone calls at night.
Before checking in on our last visit. We realized our flight got delayed. tried calling the hotel at around 9.15 pm, called 5 times over 20 minutes, no one would pick up the phone in the main reception !! Furious, and so we arrived at 1am without being able to inform them that we were gonna be late.
Upon arrival, as I had booked 2 rooms, I asked the only person who was on shift that night to make sure putting my parents into the booked standard double room and my family with a child into the other bigger room (Junior King Suite) . He affirmed me that the room distribution was correct so we just left our parents to go to their room and take rest since it was late.
When we arrived at our room, it was definitely a small room that would only fit a couple without being able to add an extra bed. Called the reception, no ones answered again!! So had to went back down to speak to that staff at 1.30am.
He insisted, the room I was put into, was the Junior King Suite !!!! I was so angry because that room didnt looked like it was over 500sq ft as it was described when I booked. But the staff said to us that the info in trip.com was incorrect and more over, the information he received didnt mentioned that we had a child with us.
Angry and exhausted, and I was even gonna compromised to stay in that room and sleep. we just went back to take a shower, then the guy came , talked to my husband and would offer us a bigger room after all the drama. it was close to 2am!!! We got offered to stay in a family room so my daughter got to sleep on a sofa bed but the guy who made the bed didnt even give her a blanket.
Next day, texted my parents and asked them to show us a picture of their room, we realized the guy mistakenly putting my parents into the bigger room and so we were the one who got allocated into the standard double room!!
Unprofessional service from the top to the bottom!! we eventually felt bad to that staff because in the middle of the night, he was the only person who moved luggages, opening beds etc...

EExploreWithMoFrom the moment I landed, I knew this stay would be special. I was collected from the airport in a luxury Jaguar , (completely free) and transported again at departure, including complimentary trips to and from the city centre. Actual VIP treatment from start to finish .... something I have never experienced anywhere else.
Because my flights didn’t match standard hotel times, the team kindly allowed early check-in and late check-out at no extra cost, which took away all travel stress and made my stay even more comfortable. That flexibility meant everything to me.
Every single staff member was amazingly warm, professional, and genuinely caring. Although I sadly didn’t manage to catch the names of the wonderful ladies at reception, they were absolutely incredible and deserve huge praise. Special mention to Tomas — such a professional, friendly, standout member of the team. I later found out his birthday was on Thursday 4th, and I wish I had the chance to say Happy Birthday before I left!
The location is perfect — close to shops, cafés, and restaurants, making it easy to explore Porto while still enjoying a calm, comfortable stay.
The room was immaculate — spotlessly clean, cosy, and beautifully prepared. And the amenities were next-level:
Mini-bar, tea and coffee station with kettle, plush slippers, bathrobe, bottled water......everything thoughtfully provided. I was welcomed with a welcome drink on arrival, and a fresh fruit tray waiting in my room. Nothing felt standard, everything felt intentional.
What truly sets this hotel apart is the attention to detail. There is a clear sense of care, love, and purpose in every interaction and every small touch. You’re not treated like just another guest , you are genuinely looked after.
I honestly cannot fault a single thing about this stay. Hotel Jaguar Porto combines luxury service with real warmth and heart, a rare find.
If you’re heading to Porto and looking for an experience that goes far beyond accommodation, this is THE hotel to book.

JJinwooOne of the Best Serviced Apartments We’ve Stayed At
This was easily the best serviced apartment we’ve stayed at recently. All the facilities were brand new, and the cleanliness—especially in the kitchen and bathroom—surpassed even some 4-star hotels. Everything we needed was provided, and the interior design was excellent. The bed was also very comfortable. Great location, great price, great amenities.
Here are a few potential downsides that might matter to some guests:
• The internet was very slow. The Wi-Fi signal on the second floor was the strongest, so we used that, but it was barely sufficient for even checking emails. It felt as if the connection was intentionally throttled. If you need stable internet for work, tethering through your phone might actually be faster.
• No elevator. Our unit was located on the second floor, and we had to carry about 30kg of luggage up the stairs ourselves. Even a small, old-fashioned lift would have been a huge help.
• Noise from upstairs. Although the apartment was newly renovated, the flooring is still the original wooden structure, so noise from the upper floor can be heard. We were tired enough to sleep through it with earplugs, but sensitive guests should take this into account. Booking the top-floor unit might solve this issue, though that means climbing even more stairs.
• Early check-in confusion. We had requested an early check-in, but it wasn’t communicated properly. As a result, we had to drop off our luggage at the YOUROPO office, which is about a 6–7 minute walk from the apartment. I wonder if we could’ve left our luggage directly at the property if the message had gone through properly—perhaps someone from the team could clarify?
Despite these minor issues, I would still give this property a full 5 stars. If we visit Porto again, YOUROPO will be at the top of our list.

GGuest UserLast year I had the most wonderful stay at Menina Colina, and was excited to return. Unfortunately I now wish I had reserved elsewhere, as it has been nothing but a disappointment.
Prices are so much higher than a year ago, but I thought I got what was a good deal on the garden room. Turns out it is greatly overpriced for what is offered, as it has none of the exquisite design or attention to detail that the interior rooms have. It also seems to be neglected in terms of maintenance. The coffee machine was leaking, and after reporting it, it was made out to be my fault as I was using it incorrectly. I had to physically show a member of staff the leaked water for them to agree to replace it. I was really annoyed that they felt that they needed to demonstrate to me how it works rather than just replacing it immediately.
The next disappointment was that the room was initially not serviced at all, and no explanation was given. When you are paying $165 for a mediocre room (not even including breakfast), one would at the very least expect the bins to be emptied.
The bathroom also had a terrible smell that permeated the room, and mosquitoes were a problem too.
Management did offer me lunch or attendance of their fado show, but none of these arrangements fitted into my busy programme. I thought a small financial compensation would have made more sense. That did not happen, and nothing further was mentioned or discussed on check-out.
The final issue was the online check-out which they require. When I tried to complete it, my bill was for my entire stay, although 3 of the 4 nights had already been paid months in advance. So my conclusion is unfortunately that Menina Colina’s standards have dropped significantly, and that it is overpriced for the lack of attention to detail that is evident in several areas.

GGuest UserWe were given a nice, clean room on an upper floor with a pretty view. The bathroom was on the right through a sliding door when you entered the room. It was spacious with a shower and a bathtub. Good breakfast! The roasted tomatoes were superb and it should be a dish available every morning at the buffet.
