"It was a very good experience. The rooms is clean and modern, the pillow is comfort, bathroom is so spcious, plus welcome drinks in the fridge once checked in. The staffs are always friendly and responsive. Lobby is well decorated, cozy feels like home with touch of artistic design. Surrounding is convenient, there are lots of choice of food, Chagee, 24hr convenience shop are downstair. Only 10-15mins drive to take speedboat to pulau. Only parking is about rm30 per day. No free parking."

"Ik kom voor werk naar KK, een eenvoudig hotel met een goed ontbijt, qua prijs zou ik zeggen. Gelegen vlakbij het stadscentrum, met restaurants in de buurt, maar voornamelijk westerse gerechten plus KFC en Bask Bear. Oud hotel, verwacht niet veel van het meubilair in de kamer, maar ik denk dat dat prima is zolang het goed onderhouden is. Alleen de douche heeft geen douchekop. Pardon my English, bedankt."

"Het hotel ligt midden in de drukke wijk van het stadscentrum. Alles is dichtbij. Het ligt ook aan de kust, vol met toeristische plekken. De kamer is zeer schoon. De medewerkers zijn allemaal vriendelijk en het eten is zo goed. Ik heb genoten van mijn verblijf in dit hotel en ik zou iedereen aanraden dit hotel te proberen als je naar Kota Kinabalu komt."

"I booked this hotel for one night. The location is not very convenient as there aren’t many food options nearby, but it is quite close to the airport. Due to our flight timing, we arrived at the hotel earlier than usual. We understood the official check-in time, so we politely asked if there was any chance of checking in earlier. If not, we were willing to wait, we only hoped they could let us know once a room became available. There were two counters. We were initially at the second counter (one next away from the 1st counter), but the receptionist asked my husband to move to the first one. No issue, we moved over as instructed. During the check-in process, the male receptionist repeatedly asked whether I booked online. I answered yes, yet he asked the same question again. Since he already had my IC in his hand, I expected he could see the booking details in the system. I honestly didn’t understand why he kept repeating the same question. I then politely asked if we could get a room earlier should there be any available. Instead of responding in a friendly or helpful manner, he kept repeating, “Our check-in time is 2pm,” more than three times over our check-in process. We clearly understood the check-in time, but his tone and attitude were not friendly at all. A simple “If we have a room available, we’ll try to arrange it for you” would have been enough, but instead he just repeated the same answer without any consideration. On top of that, both receptionists, the male and the female were chatting and laughing among themselves at the counter in front of guests, which felt quite unprofessional. Still, we were thankful that we eventually managed to get our room at 12:35pm. Overall, the experience was disappointing and lacked basic hospitality. I’ve been travelling and staying in different hotels, and I’ve never encountered service this unfriendly before."

"Het is een hotel met een gevoel van leeftijd. Hoewel de faciliteiten de tand des tijds vertonen, zijn ze netjes en comfortabel. De obers in de lobby zijn allemaal beleefd en glimlachend. De kamers zijn zeer schoon en netjes, maar de douchekop is een beetje kapot en de huishouding heeft het niet opgemerkt. U kunt vanuit het hotel naar de zonsondergang kijken en bij het zwembad zitten. Kinderen houden van zwemmen en spelen. Het is slechts 10 minuten rijden naar bekende internetrestaurants of grote winkelcentra in de omgeving. De Durian-straat onder de brug ligt er pal naast.  Over het geheel genomen is de prijs-winverhouding hoog"

"In Kota Kinabalu, accommodation is generally categorized into two price ranges: above and below 500MYR. For those above 500MYR, there are only a handful of decent options, but they often lack convenient transportation. For those under 500MYR, the quality you get pretty much depends on how much you spend, and frankly, it's a bit of a gamble – a 400MYR room isn't necessarily better than a 100MYR one, it's all down to luck. This hotel, however, gets a big thumbs up from me! The room size is around 15-17 square meters, so not huge, but everything is fully equipped, clean, and tidy, which is super important for a Libra like me. The only minor downsides were the insufficient hot water (though after showering with cool water on the island, even lukewarm water felt warm back at the hotel, haha!). Also, the parking lot behind the hotel had about 15 minutes of noisy trash collection every night. Overall, I'd give it a 4.5-star recommendation – it really blew the competition out of the water! "Booked short notice for a convention and stayed here for a couple or nights. The location was ideal for those who want to visit the numerous restaurants in the area, as well as Jalan Gaya and the seafront. The hotel itself is already beside a couple of well known seafood restaurants. The hotel is quite new and clean, and the room was a bit cozy but just right for one or two people. Staff were extremely helpful, and they even ask if you would like the room cleaned through whatsapp. Overall extremely satisfied with the stay especially with the price and location, and the staff. I hope they are able to maintain the level of service and cleanliness of the hotel"

"We hadden twee kamers geboekt en verbleven er één nacht. Hartelijk dank Nicole voor de mogelijkheid tot vroeg inchecken, de snelle check-in en de vlotte check-out. Het ontbijt krijgt van mij een 6,5/10, gebaseerd op de beschikbare gerechten, en het personeel was efficiënt in de bediening; met name de eierhoek, die erg druk was maar toch de lange rij gasten efficiënt bediende. Dank aan de technische dienst die snel ter plaatse was om het probleem met de naar beneden glijdende douchekop op te lossen. Al met al zeer tevreden met ons verblijf van één nacht."

"It was my first time to stay at Kota Kinabalu Marriott. The overall stay was amazing! Fast check in/out. Spotless clean, spacious rooms and modern. Great hotel amenities. Memorable sunset view from the rooftop while drinking cocktails and infinity pool. The staff were kind and helpful. The breakfast was super delicious with wide varieties of choices from local to western cuisine. The view of the sea and the island from the balcony were absolutely great! It's located in the centre and nearby supermarkets, restaurants, old town, night markets, malls, money exchange centre and many more. Walking distance too to everything. I will definitely Comaback here again."
