Situated in the heart of Lerwick town centre the apartment is 100m away from Commercial Street, the main commercial area of town, running parallel to the harbour front with many independent, locally owned shops and eating establishments to explore. If exploring further afield, the Viking Bus Station is also 100m from the apartment, from where public service buses will take you on journeys the length and breadth of Shetland. Accommodation consists of one double bedroom enjoying views southwards towards Fort Charlotte and Lerwick Town Hall, a light and airy open plan lounge, kitchen and dining area with floor to ceiling windows offering spectacular views eastwards over Lerwick Harbour and across the town. Enjoy a coffee or a meal as you watch ships, ferries and cruise liners at work or at anchor in the harbour as the morning sun floods the apartment. The kitchen area is fully equipped with fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave and oven/hob. A washing machine is also available in the apartment. "I cannot say enough good about this place. Very central to Lerwick and a lovely room and Host. Host is kind and generous. Allowing use of fridge and microwave was such a plus. The breakfast provided was self serve but lots of tasty options which were topped up daily. Really loved this place."

"The landlord is very nice, we checked in before 8 o'clock in the morning from the ferry. I also patiently introduced us to the delicious and fun surroundings. Then, because the room was not full that day, we originally booked room 2 and the landlord let us live in room 5 on the top of the building. The view was very good. The breakfast is also great, it's always just a very pleasant experience~"

"In juni 2024 bleef we in kamer 11 boven. De kamer was zeer klein, met een laag plafond onder de slaapkamer. De tweepersoonsbed was klein met een kleine wand die nauwelijks dekking van het bed. Ze hadden misschien uit schoonheidsbladen gelopen, in plaats van een onderste plaat op de matroos, ze hadden een valse plaat gebruikt die niet op de matroos was hard schuim, niet springen, waar ik hard op vond. De lichten aan de bedden waren vreemd, een was te donker en een was te helder; er was een groot venster in de kamer met goede uitzichten, maar het stomde snel op, omdat er geen ventilatie in de kamer was. Het raam opende zich volledig in de kamer zonder dat er een bepaalde plaats was om het te stoppen met open te blazen of de regen binnen te lopen. De badkamer had een bad met een doucheslang aan de tapes, die verrassend goed werkten, hoewel het een beetje lekde. Er was geen fan in de badkamer, dus geen ventilatie. De badkamer was ook donker. Het ontbijt was zeer goed. Het diner in het asiatische restaurant op de site was uitstekend. Het personeel was zeer vriendelijk."

We stayed in room 11 upstairs in June 2024. The room was very small, with a low ceiling under the dormer. The double bed was small with a tiny duvet that barely covered the bed. They had maybe run out of clean sheets as instead of a bottom fitted sheet on the mattress they had used a valance sheet which didn't stay on. The mattress was hard foam, not sprung, which I found hard to sleep on. The bedside lights had odd lightbulbs, one was too adark and one ws too bright. There was one large window in the room with good views but it quickly steamed up as there was a lack of ventilation in the room. The window opened fully into the room with no way to lock it at a certain position to stop it blowing open or stop the rain coming in. The bathroom had a bath with a shower hose attached to the taps which worked surprising well, although it leaked a bit. There was no fan in the bathroom so again no ventilation. The bathroom was also dark. Breakfast was very good. Dinner at the asian restaurant on site was excellent. The staff were very friendly.

Although the staff were friendly this was a rather 'tired' 'commercial' hotel that didn't live up to its website. After we had booked in and were settling in our room, a member of staff burst in without knocking, saying ”sorry, we thought the room was empty because it was quiet!” Bizarre. The room did have a sea view, but was built partly under the staircase so a little noisy when people tramped up to the next floor. It was also small, and the 'double' bed very narrow, perhaps four foot wide? En-suite also narrow with toilet that was difficult to flush properly. Evening meal was a bit grim, we thought the steak pie would be a safe bet, but was just meat piled on puff pastry, with under-done vegetables. Somebody's idea of a 'trendy' meal? Unbalanced and far too dry, could only eat half of it. Chef's day off? Continental breakfast was fine. (Which was just as well as the cooked breakfast was rather expensive!) Local street parking was plentiful and free - a benefit that takes some getting used to!

Hotel location is very good to find the airport bus, go forward and cross the road. I live on the top floor and have a little attic. Don't be too comfortable. The view is good. I can also see the vehicles coming and going on the main road. Although it is still less than 10° outside at the end of May, the landlord gave me an electric heater, which was very warm. The bathroom also has a skylight that can be opened for ventilation. The room facilities are average, there are no toiletries, tea and coffee can be picked up in the restaurant downstairs. Breakfast is not really suitable for our Chinese stomach, pure self-service, I ate two slices of bread, a banana and a pack of cereal. It takes five minutes to walk from the hotel to the town center, but the only Tesco supermarket here is more laborious, 20 minutes, the wind is raining.

Location environment service is very good, nothing to say! The interior style is relatively old, but the sanitary condition is very good and the stay is very comfortable. The hotel's breakfast is very rich and delicious, and dinner is very convenient. Outside the window is the sea and the island opposite. The other side of the hotel is a hiking area. It is also very convenient to visit museums and shopping.
