It had a wabi-sabi feel, yet the details were human and warm. It had a traditional style, yet the rooms reflected a technological and modern aesthetic. Finally, I realized this might be the "quality" we were looking for. It's said that the owner had previously worked as a teacher, then achieved financial independence by starting a tech company. In his 50s, he built a hotel, freed from worldly scrutiny and able to design and operate it to his own taste. In the evening, I sat in the lounge, enjoying a rich cocktail, listening to the graceful guzheng music, and observing the beautiful young women. All my emotional wrinkles were smoothed out, leaving behind a stable core. Not only the food and accommodation, but also the hotel's cultural experience programs were thoughtfully curated. The hotel also has its own dock with direct access to the Xiaodong River Visitor Center on the other side. Riding on a bamboo raft, the river breeze caressed my face, making me feel that life is beautiful and life is precious."

The owner is super nice; we'd booked a single-bed room, but seeing that it was two adults and two children, they upgraded us to a two-bedroom apartment for free. It meant my sister could get some proper rest too!"

The hotel is only a few minutes' walk from the scenic area and has a swimming pool and a tea room, which is perfect for groups to hang out, chat, and play cards. The air quality and environment are excellent. The staff shared tips for dining, entertainment, and sightseeing, and helped us buy discounted tickets for the attractions, which was very convenient and saved us money. To see the morning mist at Dongjiang Lake, you have to get up early, and staying close by saved us 1-2 hours of waking up early. Plus, it's convenient to get anywhere from here. "The service was decent for a guesthouse, but its location was quite remote. Aside from the guesthouse itself, the surrounding amenities on the island were very poor; there were virtually no options for food, drinks, or entertainment. Furthermore, the guesthouse itself needed further improvement. Hygiene was generally acceptable, but attention to detail was needed; some nooks and crannies weren't cleaned properly, such as betel nut residue under the sofa. The facilities were also only moderately maintained. One small suggestion: the bathroom floor wasn't slip-resistant; improvement is recommended."

Looking out onto the Xiaodong River is truly breathtaking and soothing. I could even catch the first rays of dawn in the morning and take a stroll along the river in the evening! The stay was excellent. The hostess was very attentive and helped with my luggage. I could always contact her with any questions. I highly recommend it!"

The B&B's location is excellent, right by the Dongjiang River, offering beautiful views of it from the room. It's also only about a 10-minute walk to the Dongjiang Lake Scenic Area, which made for a great experience. Thumbs up, definitely five stars!"
