"Exquisite location with such friendly staff that stand at the ready to help and cater to every whim. Booking a regular room is recommended as the larger room has a door which borders the main guest area. As such, it is extremely noisy. This room also looks out on the main patio with no inner curtains with the result that there’s no privacy. A regular room offers the same level of comfort, but with added privacy on the deck area and its further away from the main guest area which offers peace and quiet. All rooms look out onto a beautiful valley with proverbial four poster beds shaped as elephant tusks. The only negative were the old, lumpy pillows, which need urgent replacement. The chef cooks traditional African meals which were delicious, but for this type of venue, needs perhaps a bit more finesse in terms of having better options for a continental breakfast and enquiring with guests as to how they would prefer their meat cooked beforehand. A word of warning to coffee lovers, there’s only instant coffee, so better go and enjoy the hospitality armed with your own!"

"Leuk ingerichte lodge met privé parking, mooie tuin en een klein zwembad. Het is wel gehorig waardoor je andere gasten en de voorbereidingen voor het ontbijt ('s ochtends vroeg) hoort. De huisassitente Mirjam is super vriendelijk en gastvrij. Het ontijt is prima. Bela-bela zelf is niet bijzonder."

"Gastvrij ontvangst met glaasje drinken. Sfeervolle kamer met een mooie badkamer (prima douche) en fijne buitendouche, goed bed, wifi goed (op hele terrein). Terrasje met zitje. In de tuin lopen de nyala's en dassies rond. Goed ontbijt en diner. Als je na het diner bij je kamer komt is de verlichting aangedaan en de gordijnen zijn gesloten; heel sfeervol. Vanaf het terras bij het restaurant heb je onder het genot van een drankje een geweldig uitzicht en zonsondergang (en ook fantastisch uitzicht als het in de verte onweert). Het zwembad was toen wij er waren helaas niet helder en uitnodigend om erin te gaan. Wel mooie, schaduwrijke, ruimte eromheen gemaakt. Safari met Philip was erg leuk; wist veel weetjes te vertellen. Personeel heel vriendelijk, behulpzaam en attent."

"Ik heb een ongelooflijke week gehad bij Thandile Country Lodge in Bela Bela! 💛 De eigenaresse Magdel en eigenaar Cobus waren ongelooflijk gastvrij en zorgden dat ik me meteen helemaal thuis voelde. Ze gaven zoveel prachtige inzichten over Zuid-Afrika, het leven en de natuur. Ze hebben zeker iets aangeraakt waardoor er een wezelijke verandering bij mij gaande is waar ik zo naar zocht De activiteiten waren echt fantastisch: zwemmen met de olifanten, ze wassen, en de safari’s waren onvergetelijk. En de dieren die vrij rondlopen zoals de chiraf, zebra's, paarden en niet te vergeten de lieve honden, en mijn ondertussen favoriete vogel Hadida :) die vrolijk Haaai haaai riep maakten het onvergetelijk. De eigenaar wist zoveel te vertellen over de dieren en deed zijn uiterste best om bijzondere dieren te laten zien. Het voelde alsof ik helemaal op mijn plek was en daardoor mocht ik ook een diepe, spirituele ervaring beleven. Het eten was heerlijk – alles met zorg en liefde bereid – en de kamers waren prachtig, met een heerlijk bed om in uit te rusten. Dit was een bijzondere, magische ervaring die ik nooit zal vergeten. "Our 5-night stay at Safari Plains was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we arrived until the day we left, every single part of our experience exceeded all expectations. The game drives were absolutely incredible, giving us unforgettable wildlife encounters that we'll treasure for the rest of our lives. The lodge itself is stunning, the accommodation is beautiful, and every detail has been carefully thought out to create a truly luxurious yet authentic safari experience.
