"From the moment we arrived and were warmly welcomed by Barbara we knew we had made a great choice. On seeing our bedroom(room 1 with sea facing terrace) we were bowled over. Large room with lovely bed, sofa with a view and well equipped bathroom. The included breakfast was excellent and the staff could not have been more helpful. Great experience and tremendous value. Wonderful position with great restaurants within walking distance."

"My biggest disappointment on the Isle of Wight. I searched on the internet for the best carvery for a Sunday lunch and found the Chequers Inn at Rookley. Its claims to be the best and a range of reviews praising the quality and service going back several years plus positive comments on Open Table convinced me that this was the place to go. How wrong I was. The carvery looked promising but did not live up to expectations. The pork was overcooked and tough, the vegetables were totally overcooked and Yorkshire pudding was tough. To add to the general disappointment, it was all cold. I would certainly not recommend this place."

"We have just spent a week at Cornerways, firstly the hosts Stu and Lin are friendly and helpful. We had room 12 which had two large windows and we had a lovely sea view. I will miss sitting by that window and having my coffee looking out over the sea! We were delighted to find lots of storage space for clothes - wardrobe drawers etc. the bed was comfy and due to its location was so peaceful! The breakfast baskets are delicious don’t think I’ve ever had bowls of granola that big! You can have your breakfast in your room or use the dining room downstairs. We loved the location and perfect for walking back after dinner! Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Cornerways and if you can get room 12 you’ll be double lucky!"

"A wonderful private hotel which exceeded all expectations. Only the smallest room was available, but it was lovely and had a sea and garden view. The manager showed real care and provided the best hotel breakfast we have ever had. Lots of lovely FRESH fruit and personally cooked meal to our exact requirements. Thank you for a happy 3 days. "One of the best b & bs we've ever stayed in, tucked away in lovely grounds about a mile and a half from Ventnor, close to the Botanic Garden. You can walk through the vast garden to the coastal path and also down to a small cove. The house is huge but has only three b & b bedrooms, all beautifully fitted out. The guests lounge and dining room are large and you felt as though you were in a stately home! Robert and Ruth were the perfect hosts, always on hand for advice about the area and help out with any problems, you almost felt like one of the family. The breakfasts were lovely and you had a wide choice to choose from, no need for much lunch! Recommend the Spyglass Inn for food at night, no bookings taken, the Bonchurch Inn for great Italian food, The Bistro and La Cantina in Ventnor, booking advisable. We were lucky with the weather and visited Mottistone Gardens, Osborne House and Carisbrooke Castle, our favourites. For a peaceful place to stay at with perfect hosts and great rooms you won't find any better on the Isle of Wight."
