We were on the road travelling when the GM, Mitch, called to inform us that there was an issue with overbookong. We explained we were already driving in the mountains and hours from home. He assured us that he'd figure it out. When we arrived around 4pm - sure enough he had and we checked in. Mitch and Marla were very accomodating even moving us to the first floor since I was traveling with my mom whose disabled. The rooms are perfectly fine for a little lodge in NH - just what you'd expect. While a little older they are clean, smell fresh, provide all the comforts of home such as flat screens, WiFi, and a comfy bed. Our room even had a mini-fridge and microwave. The outside is very plain and more run down, but most things are in that type of landscape. The rooms were definitely up to choice standards which is why I always choose to stay with them honestly. Some mentioned in there reviews that there isn't much around - duh! It's a small town in the mountains not North Conway. Everything you need is within a couple miles; some fast food places, plenty of convenience stores, dollar general, gas stations, and a few restaurants. We highly recommend Jakes Seafood and Grille as well as the Wooden Spoon for breakfast! Also down 16 is the Ossipee overlook (see some pictures below) - check it out! Beautiful and not overly crowded! One last note, the gentleman at check out was a gem; checking on our stay, offering us a breakfast sandwich for the road (assuming they handle those things due to covid), and letting us know it was their pleasure to have us as guests and to visit again soon. I love simple hospitality! My brother and his family have a camp in the area - I promise we'll be back! Thank you to Mitch, Marla, and the staff! P.S. If your concerned about covid measures - this lodge is on top of it. Masks are required for common areas, hand sanitizer available for guests, plexi glass dividers, and all.

Our Boy Scout troop stayed at this resort, 31 boys and 9 adults, for a weekend ski trip. We stayed at the ”Tecumsah” lodge, which contained no-frills rooms which were perfect for a large family- or friends-group such as ours. Our group was large enough to take over most of the lodge. All of the rooms contained a full-sized bed and one- or two- sets of bunk-beds (though our room contained a full, a twin, and a bunk bed). Most of the bunk-beds were wooden and sturdy, but some of the rooms with two ”real” beds are metal. The wooden bunk beds were comfortable for an adult to sleep on, but the metal bunk bed frames were really only comfortable for a child, so make sure which kind of bunk-frame the room you are booking has as an adult will be uncomfortable on the metal-framed bunk version. Food was served in the huge dining hall downstairs and was adequate and tasty. Staff was friendly and helpful, though only present during the day. Breakfast each day consisted of scrambled eggs, a meat, a starch (french toast, pancakes, waffles), and some kind of porridge. There was a large coffee maker available all day until it ran out after-hours, as well as juice, cocoa, and tea available 24:7, as well as fresh fruit. Lunch was also similarly adequate and tasty; as was supper. Not 5-star hotel fare, but perhaps a very well-run cafeteria with better-quality ingredients? They are able to accommodate gluten and dairy allergies if you give the kitchen staff enough notice. Each room had its own bathroom. There were also two bathrooms available on the first floor, one in the dining hall, the other kind of tucked away next to the front office. There was another Girl Scout troop staying in the lodge behind us as the same time as our, as well as several related family-groups in the lodge across the street The boys really enjoyed the pool in the main lodge (down the street), though it was so cold the weekend we were there we drove down the hill. The tubing park (part of King Pine Ski Area) was a short walk out the back of the lodge, though with the ski portion, we were lazy and drove to the bottom of the hill (but you could walk if you wanted to). We will come back here again next year. My only gripe is the pillows were kinda ”meh.” We'll come back next year, but I'll probably pack my own pillow from home.
