"The Alexandra is a very beautiful hotel in a spectacular setting. If you are active I would suggest 2 nights so you can hike or do other active things. The hotel is great and the food amazing. The rooms are nice, some bigger, some smaller. Nice turndown service for the sofa bed for our child. Both dinner and breakfast buffets are very nice."

"Room was a little small, no wardrobe, vert little hanging space, no tv.. Difficult to regulate the temperature, and it was necessary to open the window during the night. No other option for dinner than their buffet, which had a huge choice of foods but was very expensive - the nearest restaurant was 45 minutes to drive. Their website claimed extensive hiking possibilities, but the staff had no idea about this, and it turned out that there are no marked hiking trails anywhere near the hotel or off old Stryn road. Some days there are bus groups, and dinner and breakfast become a feeding frenzy."

"We decided to splurge on one of the deluxe fjord view rooms on the 7th floor, and overall the room itself was the highlight of the stay. It was large, modern, and had super tall ceilings that made it feel very spacious. The balcony was also a major plus with beautiful views of the fjord and the cable car. The bed was soft and comfortable, and the chandelier in the entryway added a nice touch. That said, the bathroom didn’t quite match the level of luxury or design of the room itself and felt much more basic in comparison. The location was very convenient — within walking distance to the cable car and about a 35-minute drive to the glacier. Free parking was also appreciated. The hotel overall felt a bit inconsistent. While our floor appeared newly updated and much nicer, the lobby felt dark, dated, and in need of renovation. It honestly felt like the 7th floor was the only truly modernized section of the property. Breakfast and dinner buffet were included with our stay. The restaurant staff, especially the head waiter, were kind and welcoming throughout our visit. Unfortunately, the food itself was our least favorite of the entire 9-day Norway trip. Everything felt very bland and seemed geared more toward accommodating large tour groups than providing a memorable dining experience."

"The owner and staff are the best I’ve ever visited. Breakfast buffet included, with an amazing view. They offer a dinner buffer with lots of tasty options. There’s another overlook room to relax, play games, read, etc. You also are a short hike away from waterfalls. The value for the price paid is unbelievable. "When we arrived at the reception, the elderly landlady was already waiting to greet us. She said we were the only guests that evening and then led us to the cabin, giving us a detailed introduction to the facilities and the surrounding supermarkets, restaurants, and attractions. The moment I opened the cabin door, I was stunned by the breathtaking view outside the window. It had been raining heavily the day we arrived, but the view of Lake Oppstrynsvatn, reflecting a ring of glacier-capped mountains, with clouds swirling among them, was already incredibly beautiful. The next day, after the weather cleared up, the view was even more stunning. The room was fully equipped. There was a Joker supermarket a 3-minute drive away, and in Stryn town, there were REMA1000, Kiwi, and Extra supermarkets, about a 30-minute drive away. REMA had a wider selection. The living room had a fireplace and radiators; it had been a bit chilly outside due to the drop in temperature, but with the radiators on, both rooms and the living room were very warm. Sitting by the window in the living room, sipping coffee and admiring the glacial lake views, I could easily spend the whole morning in a daze. It was such a beautiful place that I didn't want to disturb it when I left; I tidied it up neatly and cleanly, just like when I first arrived. Please collect your trash and dispose of it in the trash cans near the reception area."
