"We stayed here 3 nights and it was a very pleasant experience. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Our room was tiny but cozy. The beds were comfortable and there was lots of hot water in the shower. The breakfast was very filling with fruit, yogurt, cereal and croissants on a buffet as well as a menu with cooked to order hot food. This inn is right across from the ferry terminal, so very convenient. The only negative aspect is that there is no elevator and the stairs are very steep and narrow. This was a problem for a few people in our group. However, all in all, I would definitely recommend this inn."

"Het vriendelijkste paar als gastheer met een van de beste ontbijt in Schotland. Idyllisch boven Stromness, drie minuten per auto van de ferry terminal. Ongeveer 15 minuten per voet naar Stromness. Ruime en zeer schone kamer met een geweldige gastenkamer. Het uitzicht op heden van de ontbijtkamer was geweldig. Bedankt! PS. De litium ondercel van mijn autosleutel was leeg."

"We moesten even wachten om in te gaan, de enige medewerker die ook in de bar was bediend. In feite was er nooit iemand op de receptie. Maar onze kamer was zeer mooi, schoon en comfortabel. Het restaurant was niet geopend, maar we gebruikten de uitstekende Chinese uitgang slechts twee deuren van het hotel."

The Stromness Hotel by Paymán Club ★★

"Absolutely disgusting, no housekeeping unless you stay more than 7 night. Breakfast was a shambles and there were flies on the bread and ham. Staff were uninterested and every surface was dirty and greasy. For more than £400 per night (no other accommodation available on the Island). If I wasn't there for work I would not have stayed a second night ."

"We stayed in this charming flat during our visit to Orkney and couldn’t have been happier with our choice. Situated on the outskirts of Stromness, it’s about a pleasant 20-minute walk into the heart of town. The property, part of a larger house, comes with the convenience of a private parking space right at the door. Inside, the flat was spotless, spacious, and thoughtfully equipped for a comfortable stay. The fully stocked American-style kitchen had everything we needed, from cutlery and cooking utensils to oil, tea, and instant coffee. The bathroom was well appointed, and the bedroom was nice and cosy. Reliable Wi-Fi covered the entire property."
