"We had a very good stay at the Westin Changbaishan Resort, which is part of the Wanda Ski Resort complex. We were warmly received by butler/assistant No.3 小陈, who ensured our stay was a fulfilling and engaging one. He assisted us with transport bookings and always reached out thru Wechat to see if we needed any help. Although the hardware and fixtures at the Westin are aging, the service staff from the hotel are excellent. We had a good experience at the Club lounge, with happy hour served from 5pm to 7pm and was always served with a smile by the lounge manager and assistants. Housekeeping was also great, and our room also came with a humidifier, which housekeeper always refilled daily. We also enjoyed the complimentary hot spring access (once per stay) but didnt try the water park as the weather was pretty cold. Highly recommend a stay at the Westin if you're coming to Ski/Snowboard at Changbaishan West Slope."

"Park Hyatt Changbai Mountain | De voor- en nadelen van een skivakantie met het gezin Met twee kinderen verbleven we in het Park Hyatt Changbai Mountain, en we werden meteen warm onthaald – het hotel zag onze behoeften als gezin en upgradeerde gratis naar een kamer in het hoofdgebouw met een extra bed, wat ons veel gedoe bespaarde! Het buitenbalkon van de suite was een verborgen juweeltje met een fantastisch uitzicht. 's Ochtends konden we de zonsopgang over de besneeuwde bergen en de zee van wolken bewonderen, en overdag zagen we de skiërs op de pistes in de verte. De sfeer van de sneeuw was perfect. De hotelfaciliteiten waren ook erg handig; je kon beneden in de skiverhuur je ski-uitrusting huren, en er was zelfs een mini Bognar-winkel. De nabijheid van de skipiste was een groot pluspunt. Er waren echter ook een paar minpuntjes: de directe skipiste naar het hotel is meer geschikt voor beginners op een snowboard. Skiërs moesten naar de voet van de berg lopen, en na het skiën moesten we met zware skischoenen teruglopen, wat ons 30 minuten extra 'cardiotraining' opleverde, en de ervaring aanzienlijk verminderde. De buitenhotsprings waren zeker een levensredder in de winter, maar de slippers raakten supermakkelijk kwijt. Het gevoel van blootsvoets op de koude grond lopen, wie snapt dat! De bediening reageerde ook traag als we ze riepen, wat de ervaring minder aangenaam maakte. De faciliteiten op de kamer vertoonden ook wat 'tekenen des tijds'; de ijzeren schroef van de houten deur naast het bad was geroest en losgeraakt. Na feedback aan de receptie kregen we alleen het antwoord: 'laat het maar zo'. De vier scherpe hoeken van de salontafel bij de bank in de woonkamer waren gevaarlijk. Nadat mijn kind zijn been had gekrabd, plakten ze symbolisch hoekbeschermers erop, maar de aandacht voor detail was onvoldoende. Het ontbijt was beperkt in keuze, en veel gerechten moesten apart worden besteld. Als je vroeg met de kinderen wilde gaan skiën, had dit invloed op de efficiëntie van de maaltijd. Over het algemeen waren de locatie en de basisvoorzieningen van het hotel lovenswaardig, maar wat betreft onderhoud en gedetailleerde service is er nog veel ruimte voor verbetering. We hopen op een betere ervaring de volgende keer dat we komen."

"Pullman is a picturesque hotel with beautiful landscape, trees covered in powdery snow look like marshmallow, deers roaming around 😍 Thank you for the lovely service, helping us with the activities arrangement & airport shuttle. Staff at breakfast lounge are helpful and friendly 🥰 some can speak English. Others can communicate with us through WeChat."

"What a trip! The rooms are MASSIVE. It's essentially a full apartment. Very spacious and comfortable. The beds are extra extra large so perfect for families. For Western travellers, you may find the bed a bit hard. We were perfectly happy with it though. I personally will recommend Holiday Inn at the resort for those with kids. It's right next to the beginner tracks and that hotel hosts all the children activities and kids club. Though I don't know what the room is like. More from a location perspective. Wanda Jin Suites has 2 buildings. Best to get the 1st building as much closer to the beginner tracks and the service centre to rent ski gears. We were in the 2nd building. I will say from a location perspective, it was inconvenient for us as once you have snow boots on, it's a trek to carry your ski gears back and forth. There are lockers to put your ski gears in so we'll utilise that more next time. You do need WeChat though and if you don't have a local number, it gets difficult. If you're from Australia, just lose the 0 and add 18 at the front of your mobile number and that will get you through. But best to just get a local SIM to save you the hassle. But from a food perspective, they're right outside the building and short walk to the hot springs and the water park which is all included in the hotel fees. Including ski pass and going to the snow playground. At the snow playground, there's snowmobiles for kids to ride on amongst a lot of other activities. But that's extra money. Again, need WeChat. The hotel concierge when you check in will add you into their WeChat and you can ask them questions and they'll help you. Very convenient. It's an amazing place to come with kids. Water park is insane there and my son had a blast. The hot spring was also an amazing experience. Though very cold to get in and out of the hot springs at -20C. There are other activities outside the resort which hotel concierge will help you arrange. They can also shuttle you to the nearby village for more authentic food if you don't want to eat inside the resort. Beaware that the pharmacy at the resort does not have any ibuprofen or paracetemol. Strongly advise you get WeChat. You can book pretty much all the activities through their WeChat mini app. Including ski coaches. There are rogue ski coaches coming up to you to get business so beware. We almost got on a shuttle with a rogue coach that were gonna take us elsewhere and weren't even letting adults come (it was for the kids) and a hotel staff came up and essentially stopped them and forced them to give back the deposit. Book your coaches early. They book out quick. Particularly snowboarding. We also booked an igloo making class for our son and he had an amazing time. Though it's all in Mandarin of course. They have half day and full day camps for kids so parents can drop off and chill for the day. The staff here can barely speak English so bring your AI translator with you. We had less of a problem since I can speak Chinese but my husband often got stuck and needed me or even my son to help navigate around. Make sure you go back to the counter after returning your ski gear at the end of your stay to get your deposit back. We had an amazing time and would consider coming back."

"Really made a good choice staying here instead of Holiday In Express. As the hotel is just beside the ski resort. No need to wait for any buses just walk to ski resort, ski village and even the hot spring. This hotel is very worth it. As you stay comes with complimentary: 1) Mini Bar in room 2) Hot Spring Access 3) Ski lift access ( 2000rmb deposit) 4) Snow activities 5) Breakfast 6) Shuttle from Changbaishan West Railway Station 7) Water Park At night the whole village really feel like in the alps. One night is too less for us to enjoy everything. Had an amazing sleep. Got bathtub. Room is big and with a wide view of the ski area. Very nice 5 stars."

"Dit verblijf was echt een pareltje! Vanaf het moment dat ik uit de bus stapte, begroette de butler me proactief en hielp me met mijn bagage. Hij gaf ook attente begeleiding tijdens het inchecken – super efficiënt! Het verblijf zat vol verrassingen. Ik vertelde terloops dat ik graag een lokale voorstelling wilde zien, en de butler controleerde niet alleen meteen de aanvangstijden en boekte kaartjes voor me, maar gaf me ook nog eens een gedetailleerde routebeschrijving en een lijst met restaurants en eettentjes in de buurt. Wat me het meest ontroerde, was dat ik, omdat het plotseling koud werd, niet genoeg warme kleding had meegenomen. Ik vertelde het de butler, en kort daarna bracht hij me een sjaal van het hotel, met de vriendelijke herinnering om me warm aan te kleden. Elke dag voordat ik wegging, vroeg de butler proactief naar mijn reisplannen en hielp hij me bij het uitstippelen van mijn route. Toen ik terugkwam, was de kamer brandschoon, zelfs mijn achteloos achtergelaten waterglas stond netjes op zijn plek – de aandacht voor detail was onberispelijk. Deze butlerservice was zo attent en zorgzaam, het overtrof al mijn verwachtingen! De volgende keer dat ik deze stad bezoek, zal ik zeker weer voor dit hotel kiezen en het absoluut aan al mijn vrienden aanbevelen! Butler #2, Xiaohui, heeft uitstekende service verleend."

"Superb cold at the lobby, dinning area (not much variety, taste & service ok), very very very few tourists (may be around 3 rooms only) don’t have the holiday mood, feeling very moody. Thanks God the hotel manager 陈小姐 is good, she is trying her best to arrange some of activities (limited) for my 2 teenagers. And the photographer service is good, managed to take some photos."

"Very friendly and helpful staff! Although their English was limited, they were extremely supportive in helping us book activities and explore the area. There were very few guests during our stay, which made the experience feel very personalized and unique. The room was beautiful, very clean, modern, and comfortable. The fishing activity at the hotel’s pond was unfortunately out of season, but the staff kindly arranged and paid for us to fish at a nearby lake instead, free of charge. It was a very thoughtful gesture and greatly appreciated. The location is slightly on the outskirts, so taxis are needed to reach most attractions and the walking street. Unfortunately, we arrived at the end of February when the winter season was ending, so some of the area’s natural beauty was fading and a few activities were no longer available. If you're looking for a quiet and beautiful place to stay, this hotel is an excellent choice."

"De eerste twee dagen brachten we door met aankomen bij het hotel en de beklimming van de Changbai-berg, waarbij we een chaotisch incheckproces en de zuchten en rollende ogen van het personeel in de fitnessruimte meemaakten. De volgende twee dagen zette deze ervaring zich voort: het hotel was te vol voor alle gasten en weigerde service aan gasten met weinig gasten – een ronduit dure ervaring. Kamer: Na drie dagen merkte ik eindelijk de technische problemen van het hotel op. Zo stonk de wastafel. De eerste twee dagen dacht ik dat het kwam door de slechte ventilatie van het toilet, waardoor de geur bleef hangen. Maar later ontdekte ik dat zelfs zonder het toilet te gebruiken, handen wassen een vieze geur achterliet. Toen realiseerde ik me dat de wastafel een terugstroom van geur veroorzaakte. Over geuren gesproken, ik moet ook het rookbeleid noemen. Dat is duidelijk slecht geregeld, want er hing constant een sigarettenlucht in de gang. En in deze afgesloten, verwarmde ruimte bleef de geur niet alleen in de gang hangen, maar drong ook door tot in de kamer. Als ik in een casinohotel zou verblijven, zou dit misschien als pietluttig worden beschouwd, maar dat is hier niet het geval. Vervoer in het park: Een belangrijk punt om te vermelden is dat er geen pendelbus terug naar het hotel rijdt na een bezoek aan de mediterrane warmwaterbronnen. Je moet naar het Swissôtel lopen en daar de bus nemen. Ik had de pech dit te ervaren na mijn bezoek aan de mediterrane warmwaterbronnen. Omdat er zoveel mensen waren, kon ik geen föhn krijgen, dus besloot ik terug te gaan naar het hotel om mijn haar te föhnen. Ik belde de receptie van het hotel, maar de communicatie verliep moeizaam. Ik vroeg of er een pendelbus vanaf het Mediterranean Hotel was. De receptioniste zei dat ik naar de lobby moest komen, en ik zei dat ik daar al was. Hij vroeg toen in welke kamer ik zat. Ik vertelde hem mijn kamer. Hij leek verward en zei opnieuw dat ik naar de lobby moest komen. Ik zei dat ik daar al was. Hij zei: ”Oh, oké, dan moet u naar de lobby van het Swissôtel.” Ik: ??? Oké! Bij -17 graden, met nat haar, liep ik van het Mediterranean Hotel naar de lobby van het Swissôtel. Op dat moment schoten de geur van sigaretten, de stank van het toilet en het gezucht en de blikken van de receptioniste me te binnen. Natuurlijk dacht ik nog steeds dat het een communicatieprobleem was; ik moest iets verkeerd begrepen hebben. Terug in het hotel liep ik de lobby (kleine lobby) binnen en rende naar de receptioniste om te vragen: ”Is er geen shuttlebus van het Mediterranean Hotel terug naar het hotel?” De receptioniste keek op van haar drukke telefoon en zei: ”Ja, dat klopt.” Ah~ het hotelpersoneel is zo verdiept in hun telefoons~ Dag 4: Na een dag skiën keerden we terug naar onze kamer. Die was brandschoon, maar al het beddengoed was verdwenen. Zelfs de handdoeken waren weg! Ik was zo geïrriteerd dat ik er bijna om moest lachen. Dag 5: Uitcheckdag. Mijn vriend stuurde een berichtje naar de schoonmaakster om te laten weten dat al het beddengoed weg was, om misverstanden te voorkomen dat we het gestolen zouden hebben 😂😂😂😂😂. De schoonmaakster bood uitgebreid haar excuses aan. Oh! We gingen om 9:30 uur naar het restaurant en er was helemaal niets meer over! Na vier nachten waren jianbing (Chinese crêpes) en noedels praktisch onze enige zekerheid. Het restaurant tochtte en de vier warme gerechten die we elke dag aten, waren niet warm (de lampen droogden het eten uit, ze hielden het niet warm). Elk restaurant van een gemiddeld merk binnen de Huazhu Hotels Group zou veel slechter zijn dan dit eten. Uitchecken: Er stonden drie mensen bij de receptie. Ik duwde een koffer van 66 cm en een van 71 cm. De dame die eruitzag als een supervisor was druk aan het praten met het personeel van de receptie en zei dat er die dag niet veel gasten meer over waren. Niemand hielp. Mijn vriend parkeerde de auto en kwam naar binnen om te helpen met de koffer. Toen blokkeerde een mannelijke medewerker hem de weg en draaide zich om om met drie receptionistes te praten. We duwden onhandig onze grote koffer voort en wachtten achter deze mannelijke medewerker totdat hij klaar was met praten met de drie receptionistes. Hij stond namelijk in de weg. Oh mijn god!!! Tot ziens! Ik zou niemand aanraden om in dit hotel te verblijven, tenzij het 300 yuan per nacht kost. Maar dat is het niet~"

"This was my first time visiting Harbin, and although I had read many reviews saying this resort was beautiful, I was still worried about transportation. I emailed the hotel in advance, and Coco kindly replied and even contacted me on WeChat to explain how to get there. She also arranged a private transfer from the railway station — such wonderful service! We were on our honeymoon, and Coco surprised us by upgrading our room to a very spacious suite. It was absolutely lovely, and I truly appreciated the thoughtful gesture. I loved it so much! When we arrived, Coco continued to help us with everything. She arranged transportation for our activities such as snowmobile, horse ridge, and feeding elk. Everything went smoothly and exceeded my expectations. Since we were using an eSIM and didn’t have a Chinese phone number, Coco even helped register and generate the QR code we needed for visiting the hot springs at Club Med, feeding the deer, skiing, and driving the UTV. The service was truly outstanding. The resort itself is perfect for a relaxing holiday. There is a Burger King, a small town area with restaurants and convenience stores, and many beautiful photo spots. The breakfast restaurant is lovely, with a wide variety of food. All the staff were attentive and very friendly. I was genuinely impressed and absolutely loved my stay here. Highly recommended!"
